00:00The Kota Kinabalu Coroner's Court has allowed the Attorney General's Chamber's application

00:05to initiate contempt of court proceedings against Warisan President Shafi'i Abdal

00:10over comments related to the death of Zahra Kairina Mahathir.

00:14According to Utusan Malaysia, activist Cheh Muna Din, better known as Mona Din,

00:19will also face similar proceedings.

00:21Shafi'i had reportedly questioned the length of time taken for the inquest

00:25at an event in Kinabatangan last month.

00:27Following that, the AGC said it would not hesitate to commence contempt proceedings

00:32against Shafi'i if it is proven that his remarks had interfered with the inquest into Zahra's death.

00:38A similar notice was also issued to Mona Din,

00:41who questioned the testimony of forensic pathologist Dr. Jessie Hugh from Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

00:47Zahra 13 was found unconscious in a drain near her school's hostel in Papa at 4am on July 16

00:53and died the next day at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.

00:58The inquest is still ongoing.
