00:00On fentanyl, according to the CDC data, nearly 330,000 Americans died over the past five years from fentanyl.
00:17That's one in every 1,000 Americans who died.
00:20It's more than that, but it's all right.
00:22Yes, I know you think it's even more.
00:24I'll be discussing that with President Xi.
00:25Yes, so that's actually my question.
00:27I figured it was.
00:28I was wondering, since it mostly comes from China and has caused such carnage in the U.S., what are you going to say to convey the seriousness?
00:34And also a second question for you or Secretary Hegseth.
00:37Is there any evidence that China is now smuggling fentanyl through Venezuela to bypass U.S. and Mexican port controls?
00:44They are doing that, yes.
00:45But they are paying right now a 20% tariff because of fentanyl.
00:50That's billions and billions of dollars that they're paying.
00:53We're actually, on November 1st, the tariff on China goes to 157%, which is record-setting territory.
01:03And we don't want that because it's not sustainable for them.
01:06They can't sustain that.
01:07We don't want them to have to go through that.
01:10So I'm meeting with President Xi.
01:11And I would say the first, we have some big issues, like with the farmers and various other things.
01:18But the first question I'm going to be asking them about is fentanyl.
01:21And if you think about it, they make $100 million.
01:26Think of this.
01:27They make $100 million selling fentanyl into our country.
01:31$100 million.
01:33They lose $100 billion with the 20% tariff.
01:37So it's not a good business proposition.
01:40It's $100 billion approximately that they have to pay.
01:43It's a big penalty to make $100 million.
01:45So I think they want to do something.
01:47They want to put it on the list.
01:49It's on the list.
01:50It's one of the things we're talking about.
01:52And I'm putting it right at the front of the list.
01:54So they pay a very big penalty for doing that.
01:57And I don't think they want to be doing it.
01:59And we'll see what happens at the end of next week because I'll be meeting next week, as you know,
02:04along with we're stopping in Malaysia, we're stopping in South Korea, we're stopping in Japan.
02:10I'm meeting with President Xi, actually, in South Korea.
02:13So it'll be the first thing on the list.
02:15Yeah, please.
02:15On the drug boats, sir, has there been any discussion about capturing one so that you can show the amount of narcotics?
02:24Well, we know everything about them.
02:25Yeah, yeah, Jennifer.
02:27We know everything about them.
02:28We know where they're coming from, who they're coming with, generally who's in the boat.
02:34I'll let Pete discuss it a little bit.
02:36But they have incredible intelligence.
02:38And, you know, usually when you see five engines, I've never even seen that before, but when you see five engines on a boat going about 65 miles an hour, loaded up with white powder in silver cases, generally speaking, that's not a good sign.
02:56They're not going fishing, right?
02:57And you don't see any fishing rod, right?
02:59So, Pete, I'll let you discuss that a little bit, please.
03:02We'll let you discuss that a little bit.
03:03We'll let you discuss that a little bit.
