A man has been missing in Port Phillip Bay for almost 20 hours after his boat capsized off the Mornington Peninsula last night. An extensive air and water search today has failed to find him.

00:00An agonising wait for the family and friends of a man missing in Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay.
00:08He was one of two aged in their 20s on board this boat that capsized around one kilometre
00:14off Mornington Pier late last night. His loved ones spent all of today at the pier hoping for
00:20good news. The extensive search was conducted from the air as well as underwater. Police divers
00:26headed out to the area where the boat overturned but the missing man is yet to be found. The
00:33other man who was in the boat when it capsized was rescued by another boat in the bay. He
00:38was not seriously injured and was released from hospital today. It comes days after an
00:43inexperienced British surfer and his Melbourne friend drowned off nearby Frankston Pier during
00:49a storm on Wednesday. It's understood weather conditions on the bay were calm last night.
00:54The search concluded about an hour ago with police plans for tomorrow still being discussed.
