00:00Captain of the West Indies T20 team, Shea Hope, is hoping to put the one-day series behind
00:05as they look forward to the T20 series against Bangladesh, which begins tomorrow from 8 a.m.
00:11He says the pitch looks different.
00:13It certainly looks a different surface than Mirapura's.
00:17Again, you still have to assess every time you play on certain conditions, you've got to assess every single time.
00:23But having looked at it yesterday, it looks like a different surface to Dhaka.
00:28But like I said before, you still have to assess.
00:31Rashad, he exploited those conditions in Dhaka.
00:35He saw it was a spinner-friendly conditions.
00:38And he put the ball in very good areas and made it challenging for all of our batters.
00:43But again, new series, new surface, same goals.
00:46So we've just got to learn from the mistakes that we would have had in the ODI series.
00:50He also believes that the Windies can learn from Bangladesh by taking more singles while getting boundaries.
00:56I see Bangladesh as a team who always run well between the wickets.
01:00They push the fielders in the deep.
01:01They're a very busy team.
01:03So if you can add six hit into your game as well, there's a plus.
01:06So I think we need to continue doing the same as a West Indian team.
01:09We have very strong power hitters.
01:11But if we can mesh the two without running between the wickets and pushing those good balls
01:16and making ones into tools, those things, I think we're going to be the same.
01:20So yeah, like I said before, you have to evolve it with the cricket.
01:24Hope added that playing proper cricket will be the ultimate key to their success.
01:29Consistency is key.
01:31It's important for us to hit the areas that we plan.
01:34We plan a lot.
01:36But if the execution isn't there, then the plans basically go out the window.
01:39So it's just about believing in the skill sets that we have.
01:41Because all the bowlers have been bowling very well over the last few years.
01:45It's just about getting that consistency and being more ruthless with their lines and lengths
01:49and making it more challenging for the opposition batters wherever we play.
