00:00President Trump's new artificial intelligence tool may not be giving the answers he wants.
00:06The Washington Post reports that truth search AI is contradicting some of his long-held claims,
00:12like calling his tariffs a tax on Americans and calling his accusations of widespread 2020 election fraud baseless.
00:21The responses may not curry favor with Trump, as his administration targets what it considers woke AI.
00:32He accuses some big tech of employing a liberal bias in their models.
00:37But it now appears Trump's own AI tool is contradicting his messaging.
00:41Trump Media and Technology, the company behind Truth Social, announced the release of the search engine last week,
00:48noting it's still in the public beta test phase.
00:52The company promotes the tool as reliable and offers it free for users.
00:57The Washington Post reports finding the chatbot's responses to questions linked to conservative sources,
01:04like Fox News, Newsmax, and The Washington Times.
01:07Though it's unclear where all the chatbot derived its answers.
01:11The company that built the search engine, Perplexity, says that maybe because the chatbot was trained using a source selection feature,
01:21which filters through these sources.
01:23However, a company spokesperson could not confirm that theory,
01:28emphasizing the tech firm's belief in choice for consumers and saying it does not track client use post-launch.
01:36The chatbot even contradicts the president's claims on crime being out of control in D.C.
01:41Citing FBI and Department of Justice reports that show a decline in violent crime in 2024.
01:49It also reportedly disagrees with Trump's assessment that his tariffs are a net positive for the U.S. economy,
01:56stating their occurrence alongside high corporate profits, declaring they'll still carry an economic risk.
02:03The White House declined to comment on the report,
02:06but a spokesperson for Trump media criticized the findings in a statement,
02:11saying with transparently asinine stories like this,
02:15the Washington Post reporters indict themselves as irrelevant partisan hacks,
02:21who will probably soon join the growing exodus of left-wing shills from the paper.
