00:03Today we're talking about a very special motorcycle, the Harley-Davidson Fatboy Grey Ghost.
00:08The latest model from the Limited Edition Icons Motorcycle Collection.
00:13This special edition celebrates the 35th anniversary of the legendary Fatboy,
00:18which was first introduced in 1990 with design borrowed from the 1949 Hydre-Glide.
00:23Since then, the Fatboy has become one of Harley's most famous cruiser models,
00:30not least thanks to its unforgettable appearance in Terminator 2,
00:33when Arnold Schwarzenegger jumped into the concrete riverbed of the Los Angeles River on it.
00:40A scene that not only went down in film history,
00:43but also made the motorcycle with its distinctive disc wheels world famous.
00:47The Fatboy Grey Ghost now pays tribute to this first generation in a modern way.
00:56Particularly striking is the extraordinary paintwork,
00:59which is created using a PVD process of thin film coating
01:02in which metal is evaporated in a vacuum and deposited as a fine film on the components.
01:08This model marks the first time that the technology has been used on large surface components
01:13such as the tank and the front and rear fenders.
01:17The surface is then sealed with a clear coat.
01:22This special reflective coating creates a high-gloss effect
01:25that makes the motorcycle appear as if it were dipped in chrome,
01:28although it is actually a durable paint finish.
01:34The frame of the Fatboy Grey Ghost is powder-coated in a light silver tone,
01:38which perfectly complements the chrome-plated side panels.
01:41Other details that reference the original model include a round air filter,
01:47yellow emblems on the rocker boxes, engine covers, and tank console,
01:51as well as an elaborate, fringed leather seat.
01:57A fringed leather strap on the tank and a three-dimensional tank medallion,
02:01which is stylistically closely reminiscent of the first series,
02:04are part of the nostalgic design.
02:06The steering head also features an individual serial number,
02:11a further sign of the model's exclusivity.
02:14A total of only 1,990 units will be produced worldwide.
02:20A symbolic number that refers to the year of its origin, 1990.
02:23Of these, approximately 400 machines will come to Europe,
02:28of which approximately 120 will go to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
02:33The limited edition Fatboy Grey Ghost is available for approximately 30,700 euros.
