00:00was at one of those games but didn't play at the same table and according to the story
00:03left the game uh early in the night and is not even being investigated or interviewed by the
00:09nba or the feds at least up to this point in time my gut is they'll get around to him at some point
00:14just to see if he knows anything what'd you say again not accusing him of anything um but the
00:19tyloo thing is interesting because you know tyloo if that dude's his best friend and tyloo is a
00:25well-known card player in vegas which according to pablo torre he is that's a dude that's now
00:30going to have to be interviewed because it's one of two things either chauncey invited him to get
00:36more people to want to come they referred to the famous people as face cards you know a famous
00:41celebrity that you're going to want to take a picture with and talk to about whatever it is
00:45and get tell your friends i played cards with so-and-so right so it's either chauncey took
00:50advantage of his best friend by inviting him to a rigged game certainly on the table or and this
00:57would be the problematic aspect of it tyloo was in on it and if they are literally best friends
01:03could there be a time when chauncey goes to tyloo and says hey i've got this great gig on the side
01:08i guarantee 25k once a week just to come play cards which i know you already like to do and you
01:15have to worry about winning or losing because we're going to give you 25 thou on the way out in cash
01:19it's possible and i'm also i'm not saying that did happen it's possible but it's it's only there's
01:23only two options either chauncey took advantage of tyloo because he knows he likes to play cards
01:30and told him there's a high roller game that he would come play in and he was stealing from him
01:35which would be horrendous or he says to tyloo i need you to come play in this game and be a part of
01:41it there's no other option no other option and there's a story you know i i've never told publicly
01:47and i think it's fair for me to tell the story now because i've lived this right so i was at lunch
01:52uh in new york city at a place called the lambs club it's a well-to-do restaurant in midtown okay
01:58and i was there having a meeting with two television executives that wound up hiring me to do a tv show
02:04okay it's just the three of us having lunch and uh one of the investors that owned a piece of the
02:11lambs club came up to me at one point and said hey craig carton big fan you know you're on the
02:17radio this that the other thing and had no interest in who i'm sitting with which was kind of offensive
02:21right right i could have been with anybody and the guy just wanted to talk to me he said hey i understand
02:26you like to play cards i go yeah do you play cards and he goes i'd love you to come play in our game one
02:32day and i'm like all right i'll consider that but why don't you just give me your number
02:36and i'll i'll get back to you because i don't want to have this conversation about gambling
02:39in front of television executives that are looking to hire me for an on-air job right right not right
02:45now right and the pitch he said to me i'm not going to use the guy's name as i'm thinking about it now
02:50because why why open up that can of worms but his pitch to me was you can come play with blank joe blow
02:57right and joe blow arguably was the most recognizable athlete on the planet at that time
03:06at that time okay all right and certainly in new york okay i'll leave it at that yeah and i would
03:12have played because i like to gamble obviously time i'm a compulsive gambler and the deal was
03:16is 50 000 cash to walk in the door but again he kept overstating and pitching but the cool thing is
03:22you could play at the same table with this guy again one of the most recognizable athletes on the
03:29planet to this day not just back then he was active back then he's no longer playing today i'm going
03:35back a decade now okay and i never thought twice about it other than it was offensive that he said
03:40this to me in front of two random people who happen to be tv executives okay yeah and now i'm thinking
03:46about it since the scandal came out and i was willing to go i would have gone you know texas holden's not
03:53my favorite game because it bores me to tears because the majority of the time you sit there you don't get
03:57to play if you play right right right and i had no interest in that so i passed on going the money
04:03was irrelevant to me meeting a celebrity was irrelevant to me i knew a lot of people at that
04:08point i don't get off on that kind of stuff but i'm looking back on it now i'm saying to myself
04:13was i being set up was that player unnamed for these purposes and that player's made a gazillion
04:21dollars was that player in on it
