00:00How about the Longhorns?
00:0133-1 long shot.
00:03They did knock out Vanderbilt.
00:05They have two losses, one of them in conference,
00:07the other one to Ohio State,
00:10the top team in all of college football.
00:13Thoughts about that victory on Saturday afternoon
00:15because they jumped out yet again to a big lead,
00:18had to hold on for dear life.
00:20They win it but don't cover.
00:21In some spots, they were a 3.5-point home favorite.
00:25They win it exactly by three points Saturday afternoon.
00:28Well, Texas, I think we see why people keep betting on them,
00:33why people, they have such talent.
00:35And for the first half of that football game,
00:37it looked like to me, here we go again,
00:39the talented upper echelon of the conference
00:42playing against a wannabe,
00:45a team that really played hard but didn't have the talent level.
00:48That's the way it looked.
00:48You took the first pass,
00:50a little swing pass behind the line of scrimmage.
00:53The receiver makes two people miss,
00:55run 75 yards for a touchdown.
00:57But then we saw Texas kind of not just slow down,
01:01lose their momentum,
01:02and we saw why Bandy is so good.
01:04So Texas, again, they have the talent.
01:07We saw that in the first half,
01:08but they also lack that killer instinct
01:10that you got to have to go out there
01:12and win week in and week out
01:14for them to win the national championship.
01:15But we'll see,
01:17because right now the important thing is
01:18getting into that final 12.
01:20Absolutely, and Arch Manning now back-to-back consistent performances.
01:26He stepped up with a 300-yard performance against Miss State,
01:29had a very solid performance against a very good Vanderbilt defense.
01:34We'll see how it plays out in the month of November
01:36for Steve Sarkeesian and the Texas Longhorns.
01:39An SEC elimination game took place last Saturday night
01:43in Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.
01:44Knoxville, Tennessee was a 2.5, 3-point home favorite over Oklahoma.
01:51Oklahoma had lost the week before
01:53as a 5.5-point home favorite over Ole Miss,
01:55but they brought their lunch pail on Saturday night in Knoxville.
01:59They grind out a victory coach, 33-27,
02:03and we saw John Matier potentially bounce back into form.
02:07Oklahoma could be a very dangerous team
02:10heading into the month of November.
02:12Yeah, I think you have to look at the total product
02:14that John Matier gives you,
02:15because you look at the yardage passing,
02:17it doesn't look like that much,
02:19but then he's rushed for 80 yards,
02:21making critical plays, scoring a critical touchdown,
02:24and being a leader at the right time.
02:26And it was a great challenge of the defense of Oklahoma
02:30against the outstanding offense at Tennessee.
02:33And although Tennessee has all the stats,
02:35they had tons of yardage,
02:37they had three critical turnovers that all led to points.
02:40Two interceptions led to field goals,
02:43then the fumble, scoop, and score
02:44that really was a seven-point score,
02:47all those by Joey Aguilar.
02:49It was a case of a mature veteran,
02:51John Matier, doing what he had to do.
02:53Joey Aguilar throwing in front of a ton of yardage,
02:56making great plays,
02:57but turning them all over at critical times.
