00:00Hi, I'm Celia Keenan-Bolger, and I'm on set with Town & Country for the philanthropy issue.

00:06I think the Broadway community is so philanthropic because philanthropy is born of empathy,

00:14and I think empathy is born of connection.

00:17And I think audiences who come to see theater are also looking to connect with other people

00:23that they're coming to the theater with, and then they're also trying to connect with these stories

00:27and these actors, which then means when something happens that even is outside of your imagination

00:33or experience, your ability to say, like, how can I help becomes very present

00:39because you've done all of this work of putting yourself in situations

00:42and learning about experiences that are greater than your own.
