Jeremy Allen White talks to THR at the Disney post-Emmy party about 'The Bear's' big night, co-star Liza Colón-Zayas' historic Emmy win and voice training for his role as Bruce Springsteen.

00:00What was your reaction when Liza won and gave that emotional speech?

00:03It was the best, yeah.

00:04So I had just gone backstage, and so I had heard her name back there,

00:10and I got to kind of run around, and I was in the wing,

00:12and I got to see her, and I got to see the audience,

00:16and she spoke so beautifully.

00:18And yeah, she's such a beautiful performer, and she deserves it,

00:23and I'm just so happy for her.

00:25They were really wrapping people up quick tonight.

00:27Is there anybody you didn't get a chance to thank?

00:29What do you think that you'd like to thank now?

00:31I think, yeah, I always forget just these folks,

00:35all the folks that make it happen, you know, the folks at Disney,

00:38Dana, Landgraf at FX.

00:42You know, they supported this show that on paper was not very much to look at,

00:48and look at us now. It's good.

00:51And you gave such an emotional speech, too,

00:52about just how the show has made you feel like change is possible,

00:55and you're never alone.

00:56What do you hope viewers take away from the show?

01:00Is it that message, or what is it?

01:02Yeah, I mean, to me, I think so much of the show is about sort of reaching out for connection

01:11and finding it in moments when you might not expect it.

01:17And I think there's lessons in there for everybody,

01:21and certainly lessons for me as well, yeah.

01:24Finally, we can't wait to see you as Bruce Springsteen.

01:26How is singing prep going and prep for that movie?

01:28It's going really well, yeah.

01:30Yeah, we've been working really hard for three, four months,

01:34and yeah, everybody, I've got a really beautiful team in place that's been helping,

01:39and Bruce is so wonderful and supportive,

01:41so I feel lucky.

01:43I think it's going to be good, yeah.

01:44Yeah.

01:47Yeah.
