Stephen Colbert wasted no time in addressing President Donald Trump's recent comments about the late-night host, declaring "I won."

00:06Stephen Colbert wasted no time Thursday night firing back at President Donald Trump

00:11following his recent comments about the late night host.

00:14After Trump said he was a no-talent host with filthy things to say in an interview with Time magazine,

00:20Colbert, of course, felt there was really only one thing to say.

00:23As the crowd erupted into a Stephen chant, he actually found a few more things to say to the president.

00:31There's a lot you don't understand, but I never thought one of those things would be show business.

00:36Don't you know I've been trying a year to get you to say my name?

00:39The commander-in-chief's critique of the host included this take.

00:43There's nothing funny about what he says.

00:45What he says is filthy.

00:47And you have kids watching.

00:48It only builds up my base.

00:49Colbert says Trump wasn't wrong in that he does occasionally use adult language in public,

00:55just not, as the host clarified, in the privacy of an Access Hollywood bus.

00:59Ooh, he went there.

01:01But Colbert did offer a solution to fix Trump's complaints about his show.

01:04If the president really wants to take him down, there's one obvious way to do it, he said.

01:09Resign.

01:10What would I talk about then?

01:13Accept your resignation, because that'd be fun.
