00:00The Trump administration is rolling out new price cuts for 15 medications covered by Medicare,

00:08including some of the most popular weight loss drugs.

00:11The discounts come through the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program,

00:15a key piece of former President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.

00:18The Trump administration says that new prices will save taxpayers $12 billion

00:23and cut out-of-pocket costs for Medicare enrollees by $685 million.

00:29Under the plan, Ozempic and Wagovi, also used to treat type 2 diabetes,

00:33would drop from $959 for a 30-day supply to $274.

00:39The cuts also slash the cost of four cancer drugs by thousands of dollars each

00:43and reduce prices for two other diabetes medications down to double-digit costs.

00:49But these new prices won't kick in until 2027.
