00:00The arrest is the pivotal moment in any investigation.
00:07If you get it wrong, then it's game over.
00:16Police officer with a taser.
00:18Taser, taser, taser!
00:20Taser, taser!
00:26Don't do something!
00:39Everything they're doing is on body-worn video.
00:41Police!
00:43Everything they're doing will be examined by defence lawyers.
00:47They can't make any mistakes.
00:51I haven't done anything wrong!
01:09This video was one of the most surprising admissions of guilt that I've ever seen.
01:13This is not something that they would have been expecting.
01:17It is quite breathtaking.
01:22Come on, mate.
01:23Sorry.
01:24Police!
01:25Have a cable or couple of quarters.
01:28No-one in here at the moment. Hold on.
01:31The police!
01:34Got it.
01:35Stay where you are!
01:39Stay where you are!
01:40Stay where you are!
01:41Show me your hands!
01:42Say where you are, show your hands.
01:44Come here.
01:45Ginny?
01:46Yeah?
01:47Ginny?
01:48Oh.
01:49The time is 12-12.
01:50I'm going to draw a suspicion of murder against Jonathan McCulloch and Lars McCulloch.
01:54OK?
01:55Do you not have to say anything?
01:56But in my home defence, if you do not mention...
01:57Can I just take my pocket?
01:58..we're in question.
01:59So I should report anything to do so.
02:00OK?
02:01All right?
02:02The rest is necessary for a prompt and effective investigation.
02:04Is there anything in the pocket we should know about?
02:05Yes, there is.
02:06Can I take you to it?
02:07No, you can tell me.
02:08Can you tell me?
02:09Er, can you go in there for a second?
02:11Just so I can tell you something about what's in there.
02:14Yeah.
02:15Yeah, yeah.
02:16And then...
02:17The only reason I said I need to tell you something about what's upstairs on the top floor as well.
02:20It's fine, wouldn't I?
02:21Yep, OK.
02:22It's getting quieter.
02:23Yep.
02:24Is it here?
02:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:26Just mind your face, obviously.
02:27Yeah.
02:28I'm going to say a lot of face.
02:29No, it's fine.
02:30I know, but obviously I've got a crack on.
02:33Oh, my dad's body isn't there.
02:35Right, OK.
02:36OK.
02:37Obviously I'll say a little bit more complicated.
02:45I've never seen anybody react to an arrest in the way Virginia did on that day.
02:50John and Lois McCulloch are missing, feared dead.
03:07John was aged 70.
03:08He lived with a number of medical conditions.
03:09He had type 2 diabetes and had been prescribed medication.
03:22And Lois, who was 71, she lived with a mild form of obsessive-compulsive disorder and agoraphobia as well.
03:29For more than four years, no one had seen the couple.
03:36But when too many health appointments were cancelled, the local GP surgery grew concerned and police were alerted.
03:44Thankfully, the police took that very seriously.
03:49These are people that are predominantly housebound that are missing.
03:54Now, that's a big concern.
03:59Friends and family had received reassuring messages from John and Lois that they'd moved to the seaside.
04:06But phone records now revealed the texts were fakes.
04:10They'd been sent from home.
04:13Despite them saying that they're here, there and everywhere, their phones haven't moved.
04:17So those texts have been sent by somebody else who is in that location.
04:23Home is the last location where John and Lois were seen alive.
04:30The house is an end-of-terrace property.
04:33It's set over several different floors.
04:37From an officer's perspective, you wouldn't have had a clue what to expect going into that property,
04:42because no one knew.
04:46There would have been a discussion at a high level within the police force about exactly what would happen.
04:51They would have discussed going and entering the property, protecting any evidence that was there.
04:57They might need protective suits.
04:59All of these considerations were before scenes of crime entered property.
05:04What was crucial was to collect the evidence, preserve the evidence, and keep it secure.
05:12If you force an entry into somebody's premises, you have all of the exits covered,
05:17because people do run away.
05:19They do throw evidence out of the windows.
05:22They aim to arrest the only other person who lives at the house,
05:26the youngest of the McCulloch's five daughters,
05:30Virginia, aged 35.
05:33One of the pieces of equipment they use is commonly called a big red key.
05:45It's basically a ram, and the officers will swing it at the weak points of the door.
05:49It looks quite a rudimentary sort of easy tactic to deploy, but actually you have to be trained to do it,
05:58and it works very well.
06:02It does seem a bit like overkill.
06:04You would think, well, this is a middle-aged woman.
06:07But clearly they were wary, they were worried.
06:10To an outside observer, the police bash the door down, running, shouting, and are noisy and aggressive.
06:21The police!
06:23That is controlled aggression.
06:24That's controlled aggression for a purpose.
06:26So they're not going in there pumped full of adrenaline looking for a fight.
06:30They're going in there to be noisy, to get compliance.
06:32No one in here at the moment. Hold on.
06:36The police!
06:37Got it.
06:39And one way to do that is almost to go overboard in terms of that controlled aggression and noise and command.
06:48Stay where you are!
06:49Stay where you are!
06:51Bash the door down.
06:52She's got officers behind her, in front of her.
06:54Stay where you are, show your chance.
06:55She could see this was a real taser and it's going to hurt her.
06:59And then if she didn't comply, then they would fire the taser, which basically sends two barbs and an electric current into her body.
07:09She must have been like rabbit in headlights.
07:11But the whole purpose of that is to get her to the point where she complies immediately with what those officers are going to do.
07:17Ginny?
07:18Yeah?
07:19Ginny?
07:21The time is 12.12.
07:23It's a suspicion of murder against Jonathan McCulloch and Lars McCulloch.
07:26OK?
07:27Do you not say anything?
07:28But it might harm defence.
07:29Can I just take my comfort?
07:30Won't question.
07:31Sorry, I just want anything to do so.
07:32OK?
07:34What I can see at the top left of the screen is a vase with some flowers.
07:38Now, it's probably unlikely that she's going to grab that and use that as a weapon, but she could.
07:43So by putting her in handcuffs, that prevents that from happening.
07:46Is there anything in the pocket we should know about?
07:47Yes, there is.
07:48Can I take you to it?
07:49No, you can tell me.
07:50You can tell me.
07:51The officers don't want someone who they've just arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder wandering around and impacting the crime scene that they'll be investigating.
08:00I need to tell you something about what's upstairs on the top floor as well.
08:03It's fine.
08:04OK.
08:08First, officers do let Virginia McCulloch return them to the room they smashed their way into moments earlier.
08:15Oh, my dad's body isn't there.
08:18Right, OK.
08:19OK.
08:20Yep.
08:21So this would have come as a huge shock to the officers.
08:25The first significant thing she says is, my dad's body is in there.
08:30So this is not something that they would have been expecting.
08:32They might have been expecting some protestations of innocence.
08:36They might be expecting her to say that she's not going to say anything until she gets to the police station.
08:41But she's immediately indicated that the body is still in the house.
08:45Oh, my dad's body isn't there.
08:47Right, OK.
08:48Now, this might be the first time that they realise that the body is still in the house.
08:53And this would have been a huge shock.
08:55But they carry on in a calm, professional way.
08:58Obviously, I'll say...
08:59Where about you, Mum?
09:00Erm, a little bit more complicated.
09:03OK.
09:04Erm, can I...
09:05That's why I said, can I go upstairs and show you...
09:07Right, can you explain it to us, please?
09:09Because we're trying to preserve...
09:10It's now going to be a scene.
09:12So we need to preserve this the best we can.
09:14That house was one big crime scene.
09:17The officers themselves have gone in wearing forensic protection.
09:22There was a balance between being able to secure Virginia safely so they could make the arrest
09:28and also forensically protect the scene and the evidence within that scene.
09:33Where were you from, Mum?
09:35OK, so upstairs there were about five wardrobes.
09:38Yep.
09:39Erm, it's behind the bed but back next to the sink.
09:43She's describing now exactly where her mother's body will be found.
09:49She's just saying in quite the most cold and dispassionate way
09:55that her mother's in the wardrobe behind the bed by the sink.
09:59It's...it's so bizarre. It...it...it's almost unbelievable.
10:13We didn't know her name was Virginia.
10:19We thought it was Jenny.
10:22In a lot of shops, she was making a nuisance of herself.
10:30Just hanging around, really, so she would be in here.
10:33Even if we had customers come in, she would stand at the back out of the way,
10:37but she would just loiter.
10:43I'd call her strange. She was a strange character.
10:47But in here, between just us two, we used to call her Nutty Jenny.
10:51Because she was a bit odd, to say the least.
10:58But not odd enough to ever dream that she would murder her parents.
11:04Ever.
11:06Police have raided a house in the search for a couple missing for four years.
11:20We first heard about it on Essex Radio.
11:25The police!
11:26Officers are believed to have arrested a 35-year-old woman in Pump Hill,
11:31Great Baddow, near Chelmsford.
11:35They had mentioned Pump Hill, Great Baddow, so then we knew.
11:40Stay where you are.
11:41Stay where you are.
11:42Stay where you are.
11:43Stay where you are.
11:44We just looked at each other and was like,
11:46oh, my God, that's got to be Nutty Jenny.
11:48The woman's believed to be the daughter of the missing couple.
11:54Right, so I've written, I, Virginia McCulloch,
11:57I've informed police constables 77329 Brown and 79387 Bowers
12:03after entering my house on Friday the 15th September 2023
12:06that I murdered my father, John McCulloch,
12:08who, as stated, was under a bed in the rear ground floor of the house
12:13and my mother upstairs in a cupboard next to the sink.
12:16Wardrobe. Wardrobe. It's a double wardrobe.
12:18Right, OK, I'll be in cupboard.
12:19It's like four wardrobes, but it's the one nearest sink.
12:23Double wardrobe.
12:24After she'd killed her parents,
12:27she decided that the bodies had to stay there in the house with her,
12:32really chilling.
12:35She went out and bought breeze blocks.
12:37Her dad, she kept in the downstairs room,
12:40then putting breeze blocks around that in a makeshift mausoleum,
12:44which was covered with blankets and photographs.
12:48It just looks like a bed.
12:49Because of the way in which she wrapped and then protected the body,
12:54in the sleeping bag, in 11 layers of plastic,
12:58sealed him up against all of the factors that accelerate decomposition.
13:04There was no smell, no leakage,
13:07none of the things that you would expect from a decomposing body.
13:10She would have had to carry those breeze blocks up several flights of stairs
13:15to be able to partially conceal the wardrobe that she'd put her mum's body in as well.
13:19And again, she lived with her mum in that house, taped up,
13:26wrapped up in that wardrobe for over four years.
13:29It is surprising that there wasn't that much of a spell.
13:33However, the way that she entombed her parents,
13:36she made sure that there was no air that was able to get in.
13:44The McCullochs had lived not too far from the parade of shops.
13:47They were very well recognized in the local area.
13:52Virginia, who was their youngest daughter,
13:54was effectively their carer.
13:59She would apply for credit cards in her father's name.
14:02She applied for the early release of her father's pension.
14:06You know, any way that she could get her hands on their money, she would.
14:13Also in the handbag as well, there's...
14:17And again, because you're probably going to need to know about it,
14:19there's a card in there, card on money.
14:24And that's a bank card,
14:28where there's a lot of transactions that have taken place.
14:33I've lost a few years.
14:35What?
14:36From money that pertains to my parents.
14:40John and Lois seemed to think that they were losing money,
14:42that their money was kind of disappearing, hemorrhaging almost.
14:45And they spoke to Virginia about this.
14:48But she would always have an excuse, always have a reason
14:51to give her parents the impression that she was on top of this
14:55and she was going to get their money back for them.
15:00Virginia was heavily involved in online gambling
15:04and using a lot of the money that belonged to her parents.
15:07She basically stole about £150,000 from her parents.
15:17I think Virginia's lies were starting to catch up with her
15:21and she knew that the game was up.
15:23So she planned for about three months
15:27that the only way to continue with the life that she created for herself
15:30at her parents' expense was to kill them.
15:32She started to experiment with levels of medicines in drinks.
15:39She bought crushing equipment so she could reduce tablets to powder
15:43so that they could be secreted in drinks.
15:50On the night of the poisoning, Virginia decided this was it.
15:55And she was going to kill her parents that night.
16:00Some things fell in her favour.
16:01Firstly, her parents slept in separate rooms.
16:04So if one was affected quicker than the other,
16:07then they wouldn't know.
16:10So John, her father, was in the habit of having a Guinness
16:13and a brandy before he went to bed.
16:16Both quite strongly flavoured drinks,
16:18so could easily disguise medicines.
16:25She crushed down some pills and drugs
16:27and mixed them into his drinks
16:29and sent him off to bed to die.
16:35She'd also put that cocktail with the prescription drugs
16:37into a drink for her mum.
16:40Virginia then went off to bed,
16:42satisfied that her parents would not survive the night.
16:48Virginia woke up at six o'clock.
16:53She went to her father's room
16:55and sure enough, there he was, lying in his bed,
16:59still lifeless.
17:02He was dead, her plan had worked.
17:07She then went to her mother's room
17:09and to her absolute shock and surprise,
17:11she saw her mum sitting up in bed,
17:14set of headphones in, listening to the radio.
17:17It hadn't worked.
17:19What on earth had gone wrong?
17:22When she looked at the spiked drink,
17:25she realised her mother hadn't finished it.
17:27She hadn't consumed enough of this murderous liquid to kill her.
17:32Highlighted actions on taxes, military...
17:34And she's now going to have to rely on her back-up plan,
17:37which is a far more violent way of killing someone
17:40that she should have been loving and caring for.
17:42Obviously, if she left her mother alive,
17:47her mother would know that her father had been poisoned
17:51and killed and there was only one person that could do it.
17:54Her mum had to die.
17:55Requested by Central Convention.
17:57And that's when she got the hammer.
17:59Is in reaction to heightened tensions between...
18:01She went back to the room
18:04and started attacking her mum about the head with this hammer.
18:13Chillingly, she would go on to describe that
18:15as being like playing the xylophone.
18:17Horrific description of killing anyone,
18:20let alone your own mother.
18:22Her mum looking up at her daughter,
18:24who should have been there to love and care for her,
18:27knowing that actually this person would be taking her life.
18:32And then she suddenly had a thought,
18:34this was getting too messy, it was too difficult,
18:36it was too violent.
18:40She then retrieved a knife from the kitchen.
18:42Came back to the room and stabbed her mother eight times,
18:47seven of them in the chest.
18:49Essex police have confirmed that officers today
18:52arrested the daughter of a couple missing for four years.
18:56Virginia McCulloch is suspected of murdering her parents.
19:02The purpose of your arrest is for a prompt effective investigation
19:05as well as by questioning you.
19:06We can't do that here.
19:07It needs to be done at a police station, all right?
19:14I did know that this would kind of come eventually.
19:18and it's proper that I serve my punishment.
19:23So...
19:25Yeah.
19:29She was resigned to her fate,
19:31but this extraordinary arrest still wasn't over.
19:35A couple of minutes.
19:36Yeah, yeah.
19:37What significance is all written down here now,
19:38I've just read it up to you.
19:39Are you happy to sign that, to say that's a true account?
19:41Yeah.
19:42Yeah.
19:52Cheer up, at least you've got the bad guy.
19:57Cheer up, at least you've got the bad guy.
19:59It's just so cold and so heartless.
20:02I've got no idea where that comes from in a human being.
20:08It's almost like she's trying to reassure him
20:11that this isn't quite as bad as you thought it was.
20:15It's actually terrible.
20:16It's terrible.
20:17Yet she's trying to make light of the situation.
20:20Cheer up, at least you've got the bad guy.
20:22I know, I don't say modern...
20:24I'm just waking up today and done my job.
20:25I know, I don't say modern...
20:27Then the end of that sentence...
20:28I know, I don't say modern...
20:29I'm just waking up today and done my job.
20:31I know.
20:32I know, I don't say modern...
20:33It's not a lie.
20:34It's not a lie.
20:35It's not a lie.
20:36But we all have...
20:38We don't look like what?
20:39I don't look like a double killer.
20:40I don't look like someone who'd kill my parents.
20:42I don't look like somebody who'd hide bodies away for four years.
20:45Like...
20:46I'm not going to comment on anything.
20:47It's not my job to comment on it, OK?
20:49it's absolutely right not to engage with her in that way he's remained
20:53completely professional and detached from from her and what's going on in
20:58front of him she's making admissions unbidden admissions and anything that
21:05he says at all either to influence her to talk more or to validate her attitude
21:12and views could be detrimental to the investigation I deserve to obviously get
21:19whatever's coming sentence wise that's the right thing to do and that might give
21:25me a bit of peace I deserve whatever I get sentence wise because that's the right
21:30thing to do you killed your parents you stole their money you lied for years to
21:38everybody and you're considering the sentence that you might get given
21:43because it's the right thing to do there is no connect at all with what she's done
21:53a woman has pleaded guilty to murdering her mother and father Virginia McCulloch aged 37
22:03of great Baddow Essex concealed her parents bodies for more than four years
22:11jailing McCulloch for a minimum 36 years the judge told her your parents were entitled to feel safe in
22:19their own beds in their own home and from their own daughter
22:28yeah she bought quite a few decorative things from here like the job that could
22:34be seen in the footage with police can it was like a little ceramic jug with some
22:42lavender flowers on it and it has some little gypsophilia artificial buds inside
22:46and she'd got it perched on the bottom of the baluster which is a really weird place to put it
22:50because I thought you could look it over and then in the kitchen there was this like tall
22:54skinny pink and glass vase that she'd bought from us as well well I was seeing the stuff that she
23:01bought from us and it was just weird seeing it there it's just sheer utter disbelief really that
23:10she was living there with bodies for what four years
23:21cheer off at least you caught the bad guy
23:24if I was involved in this investigation I would never forget this for the rest of my life this would
23:29be one of those standout investigations that I would take to the grave it's so bizarre
23:36the way in which it pans out after the arrest is is just like something I've never seen or heard of
23:44before and and I I cannot imagine any of those officers will ever forget the day that they went
23:52through the door and and found and heard what they did because it's just beyond my experience and I
24:03would suggest the vast majority of police officers experience across this country
24:09it's a really delicate situation
24:35they really don't want to disturb the normal school morning
24:43but they have to arrest this man with as minimal disruption as possible
24:51to keep the arrest low-key officers mainly female are wearing civilian clothes but concealing a body camera
25:00the body camera is very important in case the footage is needed at a subsequent trial in this case it was
25:11the location a primary school on the outskirts of town
25:17it was just before the start of the school day there are pupils in the area there are parents in the area
25:23they all know greg hill you certainly don't see many arrests outside the school let alone of a headmaster
25:31i think the reason that most of the officers were women is to try and blend in
25:39they wouldn't look out of place at the school
25:42police officers probably i would suggest go there thinking this is going to be quite an easy arrest
25:50he's a headmaster he's an educated person with no criminal record it's probably going to be a case
25:56of we'll arrest him put him in a car go back to the police station and it'll be done very very low key
26:01hello there is it mr hill yeah hello mr hill i'm pc hollington from kingston police station yeah the
26:08time is 8 50 i do need to arrest you it's in relation to stalking causing serious alarm and
26:12distress i don't know if there's anything but it may harm your defense if you do not mention one
26:16question something which you later i need no i know that anything you do say maybe give it evidence
26:20i haven't stalked anyone i've done anything but um i do need to find my union i need to go inside
26:25is if i'm a union no no i'm sorry mr hill mr hill mr hill one of your rights when someone is first
26:33arrested for a crime they can react in a number of different ways one way that i used to see an
26:39awful lot is people would try and talk their way out of it i can i can say some words that will stop
26:44this happening i can make it go away the headmaster is now under arrest for stalking a junior female
26:52teacher i do need to find my union i need to go inside is if i'm a union no no no i'm sorry
26:57mr hill mr hill mr hill one of your rights listen listen i'm not assaulting you okay you under arrest
27:04i don't listen we are giving you professional courtesy we are no please listen we have given you
27:11professional courtesy i agree we have come we have not come in please just say okay okay
27:17one of your legal rights is to have a phone call and that can be just take your hand
27:21you were starting to walk away sir all right you are under arrest just take your hand off me first
27:25of all just take your hand you were causing a scene and we didn't want to do that okay i'm not
27:28causing a scene my colleagues are going to take you school you could have waited in school we are
27:32in plain clothes and we wanted to wait outside because we didn't want to go into the school in front of
27:36all of your stuff i have done nothing wrong i've been assaulted by a police officer she's touched my arm
27:40it's an allegation okay i've been assaulted i want to go inside and just bring my union you will not be going
27:45inside mr hill okay so mr hill says you've assaulted me meaning you've touched me but they're quite
27:52within their rights he's been arrested they are allowed to use reasonable force in order to control
27:57him to restrain him and the fact he's trying to walk away and they're holding his arm more than
28:03reasonable they're not assaulting him but he just doesn't like it okay but i haven't done anything wrong
28:08that's fine we will talk to you about this and you could have done this at my house you didn't
28:12need to come to my school to do this she started to walk away i haven't walked away i'm still by my
28:16car could you just turn around the camera please i'm going to start filming now officers standing by
28:23in case of emergency are alerted when somebody resists arrest sometimes you will see a situation
28:32where you get a lot of police officers coming in and trying to control that person now he
28:37is quite a big fella that backup would be needed so that mr hill can be arrested in a way that he
28:44doesn't get hurt and the officers don't get hurt i'm going to start filming now because you can see
28:48i'm still by my car no don't touch my phone that says the backup coming in no don't touch my phone
28:56the number of officers certainly increases at this point don't touch my phone mr hill is going to know
29:02at this point why he's being arrested he's also going to understand what is on his phone
29:07and there will be evidence on there that would back up what the teacher is saying don't touch my
29:11phone don't touch my phone do not it isn't just this is my personal information on there there's
29:19also incriminating stuff on there don't touch my phone the junior teacher started at howard junior
29:32school and it was not too long after that that greg hill started contacting her via twitter
29:42it became more and more personal he started to believe that he had fallen in love with her
29:50and this made her feel uncomfortable and it was unwanted contact
29:57the unmarried headmaster aged 48 texted the 22 year old teacher can't wait to see this smile this
30:05beautiful face and wonderful person tomorrow i'd love to build a future for us in school and outside
30:12of school he'd quickly become very obsessed with this member of staff you know things have been ramped
30:18on the floor we don't want that come on just calm yourself down we're trying to we are trying to
30:32let go of the hand take that off me take that off me do not put your heart you're going to break my
30:36finger you're going to break my finger let go of the handcuff you're going to break my thing let go of
30:42the hand in the police there's an expression you plan for the worst but hope for the best i don't
30:48think these officers would have been expected in a situation where very quickly things are starting
30:52to get out of control and they don't want to be in a position where they're having to manhandle
30:59a head teacher in front of the pupils of that school and the parents at the moment we're going to
31:03be right we're going to be further rest before resisting arrest now i'm not resisting the rest
31:06clearly you are you're holding onto the handcuffs you are already under arrest okay calm yourself
31:11down i'm going to search you now i haven't you're getting put in handcuffs as well now because you've
31:19been you've already you've made this happen mr hill i haven't made this happen i'm buying my car
31:26they're trying to assault me please please if you're watching this video don't let them delete it mr
31:31don't let them delete this video don't let them delete this video oh my goodness please i need
31:37no i need to make a phone call to the police you're assaulting you're hurting my wrist you're going to
31:41break my wrists you're going to break my wrist you're going to break my wrist no
31:53could you just turn around the camera please don't touch my phone
31:57they're trying to assault me please if you're watching this video don't let them delete it mr
32:05hill don't let them delete this video don't let them delete the video
32:11in kings lynn norfolk primary school head teacher gregory hill is being arrested on suspicion of
32:18stalking a junior female colleague you're assaulting you're hurting my wrist you're going to break my
32:23wrists but as parents drop off their children at the school gate the headmaster is not going quietly
32:31no i need to make a phone call to the police you're assaulting you're hurting my wrist you're
32:35going to break myself down no you're assaulting me ah help me please somebody call the police
32:43at one point greg hill shouts out call the police and they're applying we are the police
32:51we're going to have to get marked here i don't care i've done nothing wrong help me please
32:56can we get a van please i've been assaulted i want your badge number absolutely you can
33:04so the best thing to do in the circumstance where he's demanding their badge number it's just calmly
33:10politely just tell them their name because ultimately he's going to know the name of the
33:15person that's arrested them what's your badge number one nine zero eight right one nine zero is
33:19a complete and utter lie and i hate police corruption that's one of the worst things i hate he's groping
33:25around to try and find something that will stop the officers doing what they're doing they're not going
33:30to because they're there to do a job he needs to be arrested then i'm not going to go anywhere
33:35well you you are going to be coming with us mate because you've been placed yeah but we want to
33:40get you up off the wet floor i want this recorded in court it is recorded then you're
33:45going to get a sack over this i've been going to professional standards you used to be a police
33:50officer myself you idiot okay the officers may or may not have known that mr hill was at some
33:57point a special constable the fact that he tells them that he's not going to change anything
34:02so after the queen died thousands of people were coming to sandringham to leave flowers
34:25paddington bears and corgis
34:27i went myself and there was a sea of flowers i've never seen anything like it
34:37greg hill decided to take 20 to 30 pupils every day to sandringham to lay flowers and tributes
34:45and at that time kate went over to one of the children from the school who was quite tearful
34:52and comforted her showing sympathy kate encouraged the little girl to share her feelings for the late
35:00queen do you want to put your teddies down there too and they went and put a a tribute down together
35:10mr hill was very excited about that he posted about that on social media quite a lot and got in touch with
35:18us and i think it was a story that was picked up nationally that this little girl had been helped
35:24by by kate and it was someone from howard junior school prince william came and spoke to some of
35:30the children it made this paddington bear tribute for the queen do you like paddington yeah did you
35:36see the skit with paddington of my grandmother yes it's nice to see you guys thank you thank you i'm the
35:43head teacher thank you thank you thank you thank you hello everyone mr hill was always quite keen to
35:49be involved in those media opportunities so what we didn't know at that point was the fact that
35:56the junior teacher had been urged to go along every single day that any children went five days in a row
36:05he insisted on taking this junior teacher along with him despite having other teachers available and
36:12despite her saying that she would rather on certain days stay behind with her year class to get to
36:18know them it felt inappropriate to the victim because she said that she felt it was widening a gap that
36:27had already started to appear between her and some of the other members of staff she felt that she was
36:33being segregated from those members of staff she felt that he was trying to isolate her a classic abuse of
36:41power
36:51over the next five months hill's harassment continued then he made a critical error
37:00he was seen taking a photograph of her car while this victim was celebrating her dad's birthday
37:06after more than a year of the harassment the victim has had enough
37:16first her case was taken to her regional union representative
37:20when i took the phone call i was in absolute shock one of the first things she asked was is there any
37:27evidence and she said yes there is evidence he's been messaging using messenger and facebook and i was like wow
37:34the union told police this was just the latest of many complaints by young female teachers who had worked for greg hill
37:44i contacted about 20 ex-members of staff people who had been silenced by greg and started gathering statements
37:54there was a lot of terror as well because he terrified them that they would end their career
37:59because his position of power and status he'd always been really careful but his behaviors got
38:05more erratic and a little bit more dangerous and a little bit more out of control
38:12help me please i've done that bit wrong help me please i've been assaulted i want your badge number
38:18absolutely you can help me
38:21help me then you're going to get the suck over this
38:25i'm going to go to professional standards you used to be a police officer myself you idiot
38:29okay there comes a point in these situations where you know no matter what you say your words are
38:36just not going to be listened to they're not going to cooperate and they've reached this point now
38:41where essentially they're having to pick mr hill up and carry him to the police van very undignified
38:49he's given them no choice what you said drop in he's resisting stop mr hill this is unnecessary
39:01i can't breathe sit up this is ridiculous sit up because if you can't breathe you need to sit up
39:06don't you or we'll just put you in the recovery position then and we'll just leave you on i think
39:10he's now started to pretend to be unconscious oh please help me somebody this is like that floyd
39:21this is an assault this is like that george floyd in america when he brings up george floyd
39:27he again is trying to get control back from these officers you can almost imagine him in his mind
39:34what can i do now i've threatened them what can i do now to try and gain control of this situation
39:39mr hill you can either choose to get in the van or we can bring some more units down here and we
39:42can carry you that's up to you but then you're deprived things to the cover and that is just
39:46ridiculous all of this no it isn't i've been assaulted look at the state of me yeah well that's your
39:52own fault for not cooperating all right you assault people if they're trying to say look i'm innocent
39:57just let me just come with dignity mr hill you assault them terribly do you you've assaulted me terribly
40:02stop biting stop biting oh mr hill what he's actually doing is biting himself he's biting his
40:14lip in order to draw blood an obvious attempt to try and make it look like he's being hurt by the
40:21officers imagine if that video wasn't there and he goes back to the police station and says look what
40:25they've done look what they did to me well actually you did that to yourself mr hill and it's on the video
40:31so that's why those body-worn videos are so important to make it clear to everybody else
40:35later on exactly what's happening this is what i'm saying don't spit in my face
40:48jailing a norfolk head teacher today for harassment a judge described video footage of his arrest
40:55as bizarre you're going to break my finger you're going to break my finger
41:00the trainee teacher told the court that hill was always hounding me with messages and emails late
41:29at night she lived in fear of seeing him but still her ordeal wasn't over
41:39an orfolk head teacher who served 20 weeks in jail is back behind bars tonight after breaching a stalking
41:46protection order gregory hill of kings lynn defied his order by posting online photographs of a trainee
41:53a teacher he'd been stalking hill was returned to jail for six months for years there had been rumors
42:01about greg hill but never enough evidence the teachers union was so concerned it persuaded trainees
42:08to steer clear of him i emailed young teachers across norfolk and advised them not to take up a job
42:16there must have been about 20 young female teachers that must have not applied or taken a job there
42:22this could have got a lot worse so glad we did stop it when we could come on no no mr hill no
42:31the fact that he was arrested within the domain of his school i believe was a huge factor in his
42:36behavior they're trying to assault me please please that i believe is what's really sparked this
42:42behavior and caused him to act like he did you're hurting my wrist you're gonna break my wrists these
42:47videos are really impactful to give a glimpse of the real mr hill when somebody goes to trial what
42:54they do is they try to present themselves to the judge as i'm a reasonable person so that video would
43:00have been hugely impactful for the prosecution to give a real glimpse of what he's like you tried to
43:07hurt me you put these cuffs on too tight that's assault you have assaulted me come on no no mr hill no
43:37so
43:41so
