00:00Have you ever felt proud of something you own?
00:03Maybe a new car, a nice house, or even just a cool gadget?
00:09Well, today, we are diving into a powerful story from Sora Al-Khaf
00:14that teaches us a huge lesson about pride and gratitude.
00:19Imagine a man who had not one, but two incredible gardens.
00:24These weren't just any gardens.
00:26They were lush and green, filled with tall palm trees and overflowing with juicy grapes.
00:34A crystal clear river flowed right through the middle, keeping everything vibrant and alive.
00:40The harvests were always perfect, never falling short.
00:45This man was truly blessed.
00:48One day, he met up with a friend, but instead of sharing his blessings with gratitude,
00:54he started to show off.
00:57He said,
00:58Look at all this!
00:59I have way more money than you, and I am clearly more powerful and respected.
01:06He was so full of himself, he completely forgot where his wealth came from.
01:12His friend, a true believer, was shocked.
01:16He gently but firmly reminded him,
01:19How can you say that?
01:21Don't you remember Allah, who created you from mere dust and shaped you into a human being?
01:27You are denying the very one who gave you everything you have.
01:32The friend continued, trying to bring him back to reality.
01:37As for me, Allah is my Lord.
01:40He is the creator and the sustainer of everything.
01:44He alone deserves praise and thanks.
01:47But the garden owner just wouldn't listen.
01:50He was too blinded by his own arrogance.
01:54His friend then gave him a final warning.
01:57Be careful.
01:58Allah, who gave you these gardens, can just as easily take them away.
02:04He could turn this paradise into a barren, dusty desert in the blink of an eye.
02:10And that's exactly what happened.
02:13In an instant, a disaster struck.
02:16The vines collapsed, the trees were uprooted, and the beautiful gardens were completely destroyed.
02:25All that was left was a ruin.
02:27The man stood there, wringing his hands in despair.
02:31He finally realized his mistake, saying,
02:36Oh, I wish I had never associated anyone with my Lord.
02:41But it was too late.
02:42He lost everything because of his pride.
02:46This story teaches us two incredibly important lessons.
02:50First, never show off or look down on others.
02:54Everything we have is a gift from Allah, and it can be taken away in a moment.
03:00Second, always, always praise Allah for his blessings.
03:05Instead of saying, I am so great, we should say mashallah, la kawada illa billah, what Allah has willed has happened.
03:15There is no power except with Allah.
03:19By showing gratitude, we not only protect our blessings, but also draw closer to the one who gave them to us.
