00:00Hello, everyone. I'm about to break one of my own rules. In my how to write a book and get it
00:10published, hints, tips, and techniques, advising others, never share your story before it's at
00:19least close to ready to being done because anything can happen between where you're at now
00:29and publication or hoped for, expected publication time. I'm going to break the rule, my own rule.
00:39I'm not going to give out the name, but I think many of you are aware, some may not be right,
00:49Terror Strikes Coming Soon to a City Near You, my first internationally published book in 2022.
00:57It's not about death and destruction, but life and living. I have said that over and over and over
01:06and over again during interviews. So when I released the book of Kennedy, Project Carpe Diem,
01:17which this is the hardcover copy version, as well as a short story, A Lasting Legacy,
01:27this is the softcover, this is the hardcover version. I don't do things like everybody else,
01:36and like I'm going to joke in my next book. Welcome to the 21st century!
01:41I joked and got grief for, in the book of Kennedy, in a short story, saying, I'm not Shakespeare!
01:52And some people, of course, you know, liars or idiots that distort things out of context,
01:59context took that as I was making a dig at Shakespeare. No! No, not true! And in my next book,
02:09titled TBD, I can't share it, somebody could steal it, right? But after TBOK colon BCD,
02:21the book of Kennedy, Project Carpe Diem, and a short story, A Lasting Legacy, I can't use the
02:28initials because it would be A-S-S colon A-L-L, AFOL. So I don't do that, right? Except for just now
02:38joking with you, for obvious reasons why. It's good to avoid that. But those are both also
02:46about life and living. So on Amazon, I literally created all three books as a life and living
02:56series, loosely related books. They're not officially prequels or sequels, but there are some minor
03:05character cross-referencings. And in my next book that I'm planning, hopefully to come out in spring
03:13of 2026. Not sure if it's a short story or novelette size, like the book Kennedy, Project Carpe Diem,
03:23and a short story, A Lasting Legacy. That title's a bit of a misnomer. It's not a short story.
03:30If you Google the, you know, what are the various sizes of books, you will see a classification size,
03:37a certain number of words or pages makes it a, either a short story, a novella, then there's a
03:48novelette size range, then there's novel, and then as I invented, novel-ext for extended novel for the
03:57bigger novels. In my opinion, a novel should be arranged just like a novella and a novelette is,
04:07and a novel-ext or a novel-ext, yeah, novel-ext, E-X-T for extended, or I came up with an alternate
04:18term, and I'm forgetting my alternate term. Novel-D-I-R, no, that wasn't it, like for director's cut and
04:28extended, but novel-ext for extended novel to me makes sense. Hey, Google, hey, publisher,
04:37I don't do things always traditionally, so hey, that's something I'm trying to get into the
04:43nomenclature, as well as other words I've invented and phrases I've used in my books trying to get into
04:51the nomenclature. But at any rate, so there are three books currently in the Life and Living series
04:59on Amazon, but you don't have to read them in order. You don't have to read all of them
05:07at all. You can read one. You can read the Book of Kennedy without a problem, or a short story,
05:18a lasting legacy without prior reading the Book of Kennedy, even though the Book of Kennedy,
05:23Project Carpe Diem, is technically Book 2 in the Life and Living series. A short story,
05:31lasting legacy, technically Book 3 in the Life and Living series, and the TBD book, I don't have a
05:43working type title for it to share, but Life and Living series book four. That's it, yeah. Life and
05:50Living book series four. Hopefully for spring of 2026, I've started it. I'm working on it. I'm liking
06:02what I've got thus far for it. So I'm breaking my rule of don't talk about it too. It's about ready to be
06:10published with you all in hopes that I'm not jinxing myself. Okay. So indeed, yes, there will be loose
06:22references in Life and Living series book four to Book of Kennedy and a lasting legacy books and minor
06:35references to Terror Strikes Coming Sooner Sitting Near You. Again, not official prequels or sequels,
06:42all loosely carryover characters a little, but each new book has its own primary new main character. The Book of
06:53Kennedy, a female lead, a short story, a lasting legacy, a male character, and that's Ryan. And that book is very
07:03different from any other that I've written because it's written in journal entries style. And I'll tack on
07:09on this video the book trailers for those that I've got. At any rate, I'm just very excited, very anxious
07:22to put this together and to have that extend this loosely based series again. Welcome to the 21st
07:32century. Like in the new book, I mention again, I'm not Shakespeare, but I go on further
07:39to say to clarify, I'm not dissing, dissing Shakespeare. Currently, there's a reference, a quotation
07:50to Shakespeare in one of the chapter texts. So it's, but welcome to the 21st century. This isn't the
08:00Renaissance era. I write in modern English, English, American English, not the King's speech. There are some
08:09colloquialisms and, you know, regional aspects of America. Your mileage may vary, right? Slang, acronyms.
08:18Hey, welcome to the 21st century. These are different times. Why would I want to write like Shakespeare?
08:27That's the only point I was making. I don't write like Shakespeare because I'm not living in
08:32Shakespearean times. This is the age of Twitter and all that. And I go into that in the introduction.
08:40At any rate, I just wanted to let you know about that. I will tack on Book of Kennedy and a short
08:47story, Lasting Legacy, as well as Tear Strikes trailer onto this video for your review. Thank you
08:55all. Take care. God bless. If you're writing a book, right? Oh, I did it again. I said write.
09:05That bad habit. I'm developing. Right? Right? I gotta stop doing that. At any rate, now that I'm doing
09:12on purpose. I'm going running gag if you're a regular listener. But how to write a book and get it published,
09:19hints, tips, tips, and techniques. You can always go to josephmleonard.us slash contact. And again,
09:27it looks French. It's not Lenard. It's Lenard without an O. Joseph M-L-E-N-A-R-D dot U-S slash contact.
09:36If you're writing a book, you want to talk, reach out to me. I'm open to talk.
09:42But again, be careful what you're sharing with people. You've got to be careful. Don't share titles,
09:54only share a working title. Don't share large parts of your story. Be careful even on what degree of the
10:03overall story theme and structure there will be. Because some people, especially in this day and age
10:11of AI, might pump that into an AI machine, pump out a story and upload it to Amazon before you,
10:23your book is still valid because your book is your book. It may be a same similar story,
10:30but it will be different than what the AI cranked out that someone stole from you to try to cheat you
10:37out of money. Try to cash in on your idea before your book comes out. So be careful what you share
10:45with whom. I hope you understand you can trust me a little more than you can most people out there.
10:53Because I've shared how to write a book and get published tips and techniques with you. I want to help
10:59you get your book out. And I joked about that on the show the other day. You would think as an author,
11:06I wouldn't want competition. That's not true. It's not true. All stories are different. And the more,
11:14the merrier out there the way I see it. And, you know, if you buy how to write a book and get a
11:22published tips and techniques and I help you out, please, please mention me in the intro or in the
11:29dedications or the acknowledgement or something. I would greatly appreciate the cross promotion.
11:38And you can go to Fiverr. Let me look that up. Hold on just a second. I'm sorry. I'm stalling for
11:49time. Stalling for time. Stalling for time. Dashboard. TinyURL dashboard. TinyURL.com slash book
