03:08i'm going to my gynecologist office to talk about my pcos
03:11oh really yes i was diagnosed with pcos which is polycystic ovarian syndrome five years ago when
03:18i was like 20. it's a hormonal disorder and it causes imbalance it used to have extremely horrible
03:24painful cycles and i had really bad fluctuating weight and it can lead to infertility is it like
03:31just a checkup or is it like you know something we're supposed to be talking about freezing my eggs
03:35really yeah this soon i'm 25 years old i'm not having any kids right now but you only have a
03:41certain amount of yeah you know it lost my weight my egg count was like she was like it's not great
03:45for someone your age because of your pcos no you should definitely it would be helpful to like
03:49preserve the really healthy ones so many women don't know until it's too late that they can't
03:53have kids so this is like actually better that you're being proactive about it like i don't even
03:56know how many eggs i have women we never think about what will happen in the future because
04:01we're usually living in the now but this is one of those things where it's really important to know

05:12making drinks but i've spilled a lot in my life my mom would always yell at me i absolutely love my mom
05:17but there were times i was scared to death my mom because asian moms well just because asian moms
05:23wait not too much my mom is korean japanese she was a single mom i am an only child i wasn't so close
05:34to my dad at all so my mom was like my everything she was super supportive hardworking sacrificed her
05:41whole life for me my drive and what motivates me that's where it comes from yeah that's just a glass

10:04syndrome so when i met you luckily you were so young and i think we caught you in time and with
10:10during the surgery we put a progesterone iud in you to suppress the symptoms of it it's really really
10:17a hard thing when your hormones are not balanced because it was affecting me mentally it was
10:22affecting me physically and it's something that affects a lot of women that no one really talks
10:26about and it's one of the top causes of infertility so pcs and endometriosis are two of the top
10:33causes of infertility i have both right right because i feel like when i first came in to you
10:38a couple years ago that was the first thing that we spoke about and now i'm 25 and i'm going to speak
10:43to you about what you think is best pcos is tricky because pcos patients have lots of eggs but the
10:49quality goes down after age 30 and we talked about endometriosis which pushes quality and count down
10:56this is the time to freeze your eggs your egg count is great and your egg quality is great
11:03i don't want to wait until your egg quality starts going down and the egg count goes down
11:08i just want to freeze these eggs in case you show up to my office at 38 and you just met your partner
11:14i don't want to worry about egg quality but 10 years from now you're going to thank me

11:20freezing my eggs is definitely not something i want to think about in this moment because it's planning for
11:25a future that i'm not necessarily sure if i even want or i'm ready to have
11:29if i freeze my eggs when should i freeze my eggs sometime this year do you think if you're my
11:34daughter you would be in a fertility clinic right now it's just an insurance policy it's expensive
11:40the problem with egg freezing is i wish it was covered i always say when patients are young and
11:45they have good healthy eggs they don't have the money they don't have the money but if you have the
11:50privilege of doing it then i think you should do it okay freezing my eggs is something that i want
11:56to go back to my mom and talk about not only is it taxing on the body but it is expensive so i'm a
12:03little nervous about telling my mom if you were my daughter i would say it's non-negotiable

19:54want to wait that long well i'm not ready to have a kid right now which we know because i am a kid
19:59now that i've spoken to her about it and it's in the forefront of her mind my mom will bug me about
20:03having babies for the rest of my life but i think i'm very lucky to have a mom that is as supportive as
20:09she is it's always better to have a mom that's more involved than not caring okay so we're gonna have a
20:15baby no we're not having a baby i'll just take all the eggs i'm giving you eggs but you can't use
20:21them right now okay okay i feel conflicted that my baby is having to go through pain or that she's
20:28having any trouble at all but ming has impressed me with her strength dealing with all of this
20:33she's really brave very brave i'm not having a kid wow okay we're having a baby this is exciting
20:42because i should be a young grandma i have to go take it easy you should cleanse your system to
20:47prepare for my grandchildren's arrival oh my god on the next kimura back in the fat lane you hitchhike
