It was a nice day for a WET wedding when this bride hung her dress on the hotel room sprinkler – only to accidentally flood the entire room and soaking her wedding dress an hour before the ceremony. Courtney Hovis and Josh Nye, from Chesapeake, Virginia, have always seen Las Vegas as "their spot," having visited for the first time shortly after they started dating. The city seemed like a natural choice for the couple's dream wedding, Courtney, 37, said, and so they planned a small wedding of 40 guests and would be staying at Mandalay Bay. On November 8, the day of the wedding, Courtney finished her hair and makeup, so her wedding photographer wanted to get photos of the bride next to her dress. Courtney placed her dress on a hanger and hung it on the top of a closet door, but the photographer then pointed out a sprinkler above, asking her to hang it there instead for the best snap. As this was 40 minutes before she needed to head downstairs, a frazzled Courtney "listened to the professionals," but then disaster struck – the sprinkler system flooded the entire room. In a dramatic few moments, Courtney and makeup artist, MaKall Garcia, scrambled to rescue as many items as they could – but the dress, bride, makeup, laptops and so many other items were soaked.

00:00Forty minutes before my wedding, everything just happened so suddenly.
00:06My husband and I always dreamed of a Vegas wedding.
00:09We were so excited.
00:11For the two weeks leading up to the wedding, my brain was absolutely mush.
00:15So I was just in the, like, listen to the professionals stage of preparation.
00:20So I was getting ready, and I unfortunately listened to the photographer's instructions
00:24to hang my dress on the sprinkler,
00:26which caused the sprinkler to go off and flooded the entire room.
00:31It was full panic.
00:36We just scrambled to get as much out of the room as possible,
00:40because this was me and my husband's room that had all of our luggage for 10 days in it.
00:50But my hair and makeup and my wedding dress, everything was soaked.
00:54It happened, like, right at the time when my soon-to-be husband
01:00and all of the guests were supposed to be gathering downstairs to go out to the ceremony spot.
01:06My wedding coordinator was the absolute best,
01:09and he quickly got me down to the Mandalay Bay spa to get my hair and makeup redone
01:13while he was blow-drying my dress.
01:16During the ceremony, my dress was still damp and stained, but we made it work.
01:20Then I changed into my only dry sweater and leggings for the reception dinner.
01:25We still had a blast the whole weekend with our family and friends,
01:28and nobody's going to forget the wedding.
