43:27But for those of you who don't know it,
43:29here's the short version.
43:32My parents were both junior hockey coaches.
43:35And they were hit by a drunk driver
43:39when I was 12 years old.
43:42Mercifully for them,
43:43they died instantly.
43:45Mercifully for me,
43:48the St. Thomas Scholarships existed.
43:52I didn't have anybody else to help me.
43:56I had a lot of memories,
43:57a love of hockey,
43:58and a huge hole in my heart.
44:02St. Thomas filled it with hope.
44:05The hope of a new family.
44:08Things weren't always easy.
44:11You know,
44:11they never are for anybody.
44:12But in hockey,
44:15I found what I was missing.
44:18First at my high school,
44:19then later at college,
44:20and now here with the Admirals.
44:21And I never looked back.
44:25Because I never had to.
44:29The family I craved,
44:31the family that I needed,
44:32that I still need today.
44:36Hockey gave it to me.
44:39And St. Thomas gave me hockey.
44:42So from the bottom of my heart,
44:44I want to thank you all
