حققت المهندسة الألمانية ميكايلا بنتهاوس إنجازًا تاريخيًا بعدما أصبحت أول مستخدمة كرسي متحرك تصل إلى الفضاء، في رحلة سياحية قصيرة نظمتها شركة «بلو أوريجن» التي أسسها الملياردير جيف بيزوس.

00:04I did a lot of mountain biking, snowboarding.

00:07Obviously life changed a lot after my accident

00:10and I really, really figured out how inaccessible our world still is.

00:18She has an inspiring part.

00:20Many people respond to her

00:22and she does things that you don't expect her doing.

00:25Yeah, so I met Hans the first time online, on LinkedIn.

00:29Yeah, I just asked him, like, you know, you worked for so long for SpaceX.

00:32Do you think that people like me can be astronauts?

00:35Then he reached out to Blue Origin and thankfully it turned out we can do it.

00:39She is, I think, an explorer, adventurer, you know,

00:42and the wheelchair does not really stop her from doing that.

00:45Of course, if we want to be an inclusive society,

00:48we should be inclusive in every part and not only in the parts we like to be.

00:52This is exciting work because this is what New Shepard was designed to do,

00:56to increase the access to space so all different kinds of people

01:00can have that experience of seeing our Earth from space.
