A tragic bus accident occurred on the Semarang toll road in Central Java, Indonesia on Monday, leaving 16 people dead and many others injured.

The bus, carrying 34 passengers from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, reportedly lost control while speeding, crashing into a concrete barrier and overturning. Rescue teams faced challenges as victims were trapped inside the bus amid broken glass.

Authorities have set up a victim identification post at Dr. Kariadi Hospital in Semarang to assist families. The Central Java Police Traffic Directorate and Semarang City Police are investigating the accident.
