02:27and puts up 48 points on monday night football we're not supposed to change our expectations uh

02:52to is how satisfied i am right now and i am very satisfied with how this has gone at 11 and four
02:57and that's what i'm here to agree with but push it even a little bit further this has been a great

04:57but yes there's more to play there are new goals that get created i'm here for all of them but i am
05:07already going to use sharpie and say successful season successful season it sounds like you're

16:55and you lost your quarterback for half the year that's kind of important you lost your edge rusher
16:59for almost the whole year you lost your hall of fame middle linebacker so find me another team that's
17:05suffered through no that much adversity there hasn't been and the teams that have lost their
17:09quarterback for half the year all suck and and aren't going to the playoffs and uh and then we
17:14could also give the data response which is miss game to injury the niners are they have been clearly
17:19number one all year long so yes every team loses players it's football there's never been a team that
17:24doesn't lose players but if you want to talk about number of players and key players no no no nobody
17:31has experienced what the niners have in fact the rams are over there devontae adams misses a game
17:36it's like one of the first rams i've heard of to miss a game all year i think puka missed one
17:42devontae missed one matt had a back injury apparently in august that i'm now convinced sean mcveigh just
17:49made up he hasn't missed a damn play except for when jimmy comes in for victory formation
17:54the running backs have been completely healthy jared verse whatnot the star players on nobody's missed
18:01any time at all that's a very relatively healthy team that the niners are now in front of yeah
18:08that's right going back to that first matchup on the thursday night where they just stole it yeah

18:20so i think that's a fascinating question you know are we satisfied you know i think going into the season
18:27after last season if you would have said at the beginning of the year they were going to win 11
18:31in games most people would be satisfied but expectations and satisfaction changes as the
18:37season goes on right and i think now if they lost the next two games and the first round of the
18:43playoffs would you still be satisfied i don't think you would because i think our expectations have
18:48risen because their play has risen i guess that's the way i look at it yeah kevin i get it but i like
18:54um and i'll agree with you but i don't think it's going to sag to where i'm dissatisfied you know see
19:00that's it like i know this may this is i'm gonna try this it's a it's an unsatisfying answer but yes

19:15niners whatever happens these next two weeks and they go into the playoffs and they lose by a field
19:21goal in week one would i would i be dissatisfied no no you'd be disappointed i'd be bummed yep

19:53automatically just get to go to the super bowl i'm looking at the five years since they expanded
19:57to seven playoff teams which means both one seeds get a buy and only five of the 10 one seeds have
20:04made it to the super bowl i can think of off the top of my head two times in the not too distant
20:09memory where the one seed lost their very first game didn't detroit do it last year that sounds about
20:15right yeah they did detroit got the buy and then washington came in and beat them right
20:19yeah that was a wild one wasn't green bay the one seed in the hufanga game uh didn't they have a buy
20:28and then the niners went in there and beat them what year was that uh 19 the niners were the one seed
20:35in 19 no 2021 i think 2021 there you go that was a weird one because the four-seeded rams beat the
20:42four-seeded bangles four beat four in the bowl right but who was the one seed in the nfc
20:47in 2021 2021 green bay wasn't it green bay i can't remember who the niners beat week one in the
20:55playoffs in order to go to green bay because i think green bay was the one seed yeah they were
21:02they were the one who did the niners beat the week before to go play green bay they beat dallas

21:25very satisfied and i think when you look at the season the season moves how you feel about a season
21:30moves similarly to like the way the lines move in vegas right like if you see injuries then you're
21:36expectations are going to taper off fred blew his ankle up in tampa bay and everybody was like
21:42yeah season's over we're done we're good no bosa no warner no nobody's here iuk's not here
21:47we lost evo we lost green blah blah blah blah blah blah we're not doing it this year so let's
21:52let's develop these young guys and pack it up for next year now in that moment if i had told you
21:56they're going to be 11 and 4 and getting ready for the postseason with a chance to control their
22:00own destiny and never have to go on the road until next august well then i would say you
22:06grade the season based on the joy you feel during the season what do you feel right this
22:10second mark did what do you feel right this second i i feel complete and total satisfaction i i feel
22:18some level of amazement i feel some level of excitement about what's coming and i i don't mean
22:25that in terms of they may win the super bowl i mean that in terms of like we get to do playoff
22:31parties and stuff like that it may be more than one maybe maybe a few so that yeah that's what i
22:39feel right now and that that's the i think that's where we should grade the season especially considering
22:45who's on ir who we won't see till next year we're praying that fred can come back for a postseason
22:51and if he does well good luck everybody else matt great to hear from you man it depends on how he
22:58comes back how healthy he'll be he will have missed almost three months so october 12th was the injury
23:04okay so it's only been two months and two weeks yeah i would put it as a extreme long shot now if you
23:11get into a game in i don't know february now we might be having a different conversation we're still
