00:29Blacks are getting increasingly fed up with the police force they consider racist.
00:34We were filled by history.
00:36We were all dispossessed.
00:39But we don't talk about that.
00:44We have so many amazing black histories in Canada.
00:50Whether it's Montreal, Halifax, or Vancouver,
00:54we were never meant to prosper here.
00:56Look where we are under that legacy.
00:59Canada wasn't this promised land.
01:01It was another step in a journey for freedom.
01:05We can't sit around and say that, oh, it's not going to change.
01:08No, we have to do everything in our power to do that.
01:11There has to be a certain degree of audacity and imagination.
01:14We are here.

01:17These stories are us.
01:19These are all means of black people organizing their lives against erasure.
01:26But we're up for the fight because it's beautiful being black in Canada.
