This simple dinner recipe might as well be a comforting hug from your favorite crock pot. In this video, Nicole shows you how to make a slow cooker pastina recipe with bone-in chicken breasts, chopped veggies, and flavorful bone broth. After cooking on high for four hours (or until the vegetables are tender), the pastina is added to the broth before being served in a bowl with a healthy dose of grated parmesan over the top.

00:00Whipping up some comfort with Crock-Pot Pastina.
00:02Place two bone-in chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
00:04Cut an onion into large pieces and throw it in along with celery and carrots.
00:08Season with salt and pepper and pour in a quart of bone broth.
00:10Top it off with a little water.
00:12Cover and cook on high for four hours or until that carrot has softened.
00:15When it's done, pull the chicken out, chop it, and set it aside.
00:17You can remove the veggies and puree them in the blender with a little stock until it's smooth
00:21or do it with an immersion blender right in the slow cooker.
00:23With the Crock-Pot still on high, stir in your pastina
00:26and cook that until the pasta is cooked and has absorbed some of the liquid.
00:29Stir the chicken back in, check for seasonings,
00:31and then serve it up with grated Parmesan and chopped parsley.
