00:00podcast hosted by me, Ed Gamble. We're back to accompany another irresistible series of the
00:05best show on TV. Joining me each episode to unpick all the treachery from the castle
00:09will be familiar former players, celebrity superfans, and of course the latest murdered
00:14and banished players. Now you know what's coming. Spoiler alert! If you haven't watched the first
00:19episode of Series 4, then head to BBC iPlayer and do that now. Coming up, we discuss that
00:25red cloak twist and who the secret traitor might be. We share our first impressions of the other
00:30traitors and we unpick the lies and deceit already swirling around the castle. To do all of this and
00:36more, I'm joined by celebrity faithful Lucy Beaumont, Series 3 traitor Mina, Series 2
00:41faithful Molly, and traitor superfan Jack Remington! Welcome everyone. So exciting. Thank you for
00:52joining me on the first episode of Uncloaked for Series 4. We are obviously going to be
00:57discussing everything that happened in this episode, but Lucy, first I want to chat to you
01:01because you were amazing in the celebrity series. How did you find watching the first episode of the
01:05new civilian series now that you're not in the castle? At first, I was like, oh god, here we go again.
01:12You know, like, when you're like, there's a set thing, like, oh. And then, I was absolutely hooked.
01:17By the end, I was like, they have, they've done it again. But you'll want to talk about the twist in
01:24a minute, I'm sure. We'll probably bring it up, I'd imagine. But that just is taking it to a new
01:31level. Totally, yeah. Total new level. This time round, there is a secret traitor. Not even the
01:36traitors know who they are and we do not know who they are as we are watching. So everyone watching
01:42now is a faithful because we need to work out who this traitor is. Yes. So you've got a theory I
01:48hear, Lucy. When we watched it together, I just had to ask the group, did they say that the secret
01:53traitor was one of that cast? Because it could be Claire Balding. So you think it's not only a
02:02secret traitor, it's someone secret within the castle. You think Claire Balding is hiding something
02:06maybe in the suit of armour and she's going to pop out? Well, I did say, I said publicly online that
02:11I think Claire Balding will come back. Yeah. And then you can imagine how I felt when they
02:17said there's a secret traitor. Yeah. And in the cloak, when it was walking, it did look
02:21like Claire Balding's walk. And I thought, that's why you made me move up because she's
02:27going to sit here. So you thought, we are going to reveal the identity of the secret traitor
02:32in this episode of Uncloaked and it's going to be Claire Balding. Yeah. I'm just so glad they've
02:36done this because, you know, it's so, you won't know this, but it's so infuriating when people are
02:42like, how did you not know? Yeah. I feel you with that one. It's time for the public to play
02:46this game. Yeah. And realise how hard it is. What was your instant thought when you, when you saw
02:50the twist, Mina? Can I be honest? Yeah. I was fuming because that screams Mina energy down to a
02:58T. I want to be in the red cloak. But then we were saying as well that they're going to be so
03:02anxious because even for them, it's not a comfortable, safe situation. They've not got
03:06the support of at least two other traitors when they get to the round table. They're by
03:10themselves. Yeah. So everybody's going to be feeling anxious now. You know, before it was
03:14like, the traitors have got the upper hand. Traitors have now got to guess about the secret
03:19one, but then the secret one's going to be anxious because they're out there on their
03:22own. And obviously all the faithfuls are anxious anyway. So it's just good telling.
03:26Would you have been angry as a traitor if you found out there's a secret traitor?
03:30You get there, you're like, as a traitor, you think, I want to be picked. I want to be
03:34picked. And then you find out someone else is running the show. Yeah. And you're limited
03:39to who you can murder because the secret traitor ultimately gives you the options.
03:43All the power's gone. All the power's gone in the turret.
03:46Hugo's not a happy boy. He is not happy.
03:49It's funny though, because they get everything they wanted. Like they've obviously, they've made
03:53this to the show, which is amazing. They've been able to be a traitor, which they want
03:57to do. And now it's like snatched away from them. That power's gone. And I love it.
04:02I'm happy about the Hugo situation because when he said before that he was a psychopathic
04:06teddy bear, I was like, this is what you want to happen to a psychopathic teddy bear.
04:10Take away all the toys and they go mental. Yeah.
04:13Yeah. I mean, he had it all planned, didn't he? I've got a hug in my name,
04:16but if you get too close, I'll stab you in the back. And then he became a traitor.
04:19You must have been so happy about it. And then suddenly the rugs pull.
04:22Yeah. Do we have any speculative theories so far as to who the secret traitor might be?
04:26We've only had one episode, but has anyone spotted anything?
04:28We thought Amanda would be great. And we also all warmed to Judy. I love my mum,
04:35but I would also happily have Judy as my mum. Yeah.
04:38Love you, mum. So I feel like she'd be a really good person in kind of like a
04:42motherly instinctive way. And then if she's pulling all the strings behind the scenes,
04:46although they are slightly onto her already. Yeah, this is it.
04:49Did we spot Judy's head turn at the round table? Not another head turn.
04:52There was a little bit of a Linda moment. Really?
04:55Yeah. To the word traitors. Yeah. Oh.
04:58So if Judy is the secret traitor, she's not done a great job of keeping it secret so far.
05:02I really hope the secret traitor gets far, because I just think it's fun.
05:06Yeah. Like it is fun. And it's like added such another layer to the game.
05:09Imagine if like Judy's the first to go and that's it.
05:12I think Jessie could be the secret traitor. Yeah.
05:14I don't know why. I think when she was speaking on the train, she just really like,
05:19I don't know, I connected with her and I thought she could be a good traitor.
05:21And she said she wanted to be a traitor. Yeah.
05:24They all seem to this year. Yeah, yeah.
05:26I feel like everyone just wants to be conniving. It's great.
05:28But that makes it so hard to work out who the secret traitor is, right?
05:31Because there's so many discussions in the gold chats where everyone says they want to be a traitor.
05:35You're like, well, who could it be? Amanda, I thought potentially a good secret traitor.
05:39I think a terrible secret detective, because I'm watching Amanda and I'm thinking,
05:42I'd know you were a copper as soon as I meet you.
05:45Yeah, she's like central casting, like leading the bill.
05:51I'm surprised they've not done any sort of shots of just her feet walking across the gravel.
05:55Maybe that's the walk she was getting confused with.
05:57Yeah, maybe.
05:57That's who you think Claire is.
05:59Does Claire boarding walk like a bullet?
06:01They have obviously like, a couple of people mentioned Jade looked nervous.
06:09And then obviously they showed Jade, but you know, you don't know whether they're just,
06:13it's a red herring, but it would make sense that you're seeing the secret traitor a lot within this episode.
06:22And she did, she did look nervous. And being there, you know, you don't look nervous because it's like a relief, really.
06:32See, I disagree. I feel like I looked nervous.
06:34Oh, did you?
06:34I was nervous. I was petrified.
06:36Oh, really?
06:37Yeah.
06:37In case someone was like, thought you was...
06:39I think I was just out of my depth a little bit, to be honest.
06:42Yeah.
06:42And I think, you know, you've signed yourself up for something to the unknown completely, really.
06:46Like it's, I was probably just nervous in general.
06:50You're around loads of new people.
06:52So I don't know if it's fair to say like, that nervousness is just because she's guilty.
06:58Because I was nervous as hell, like I've...
07:00But people obviously didn't pick up on that, because obviously, even though you were nervous,
07:04people can still tell that's authentic and it's not for that reason.
07:08And I suppose that it could be like that for Jade.
07:10I think maybe people just need to get to know her a little bit more.
07:12Yeah.
07:12Maybe the people that don't know her so well are the ones kind of picking up on that energy.
07:16Yeah.
07:16Whereas if they've had a few chats with her, they might know she's a bit of a nervous person anyway.
07:20Or we could be wrong, and it's her.
07:22We could.
07:22You know?
07:23Has anyone made any comments so far that you think, oh, they're a bit suspicious?
07:26They're a little bit, you're a bit on edge with them?
07:28I think James needs to be real careful.
07:30He is throwing names out left, right and centre.
07:32That point thing he was doing.
07:33Yeah.
07:34That was wild.
07:35It just, you need to be under the radar.
07:37Like, you do.
07:39And as much as you can get excited, especially when you feel something and like, you're sure it's right.
07:44Just be careful with what she's saying, I think.
07:46I worry about Fiona because of the mission.
07:51I think at that early on in the game, everyone's just holding on to any little thing that happens.
07:56And that's like the only thing that's really happened.
07:58And I just think it was an accident.
07:59Or is she the secret traitor?
08:01What if she's putting all this on?
08:03What if she's not mixing anything up at all?
08:08What if it's like Willy Wonka when he comes out of the factory and he's on a walking stick,
08:12and then he does a tumble?
08:14Exactly.
08:15Fiona's going to start doing flips.
08:17Yeah.
08:17She's going to do flips in a red cloak.
08:20Now, we know who isn't the secret traitor because of the murder shortlist.
08:23Yes.
08:24We've got James, Nettie and Maz.
08:26Do you think there's anyone else, Jack, that we can rule out of being the secret traitor?
08:30Who's 100% faithful, essentially?
08:35It's funny because I feel like I trust Judy, but I literally want her to be the secret traitor.
08:39So my want and my actually thinking it may be a different thing.
08:42I want her to be, but I actually don't think she will be.
08:44I think she's faithful and, unfortunately, is just sadly on the chopping block at the moment.
08:49Now, we don't know who the secret traitor is, but neither do the traitors themselves.
08:54They were very shocked when Claudia told them.
08:56Let's remind ourselves of that.
08:57I just had to pop in because I have a small confession.
09:02Oh, no.
09:03You are not the only traitors in this castle.
09:10At the round table, I picked one other traitor, the secret traitor.
09:16Oh, my God.
09:18You still have power, but not quite as much.
09:25Hugo was gutted, wasn't it?
09:27I think they all were a bit fuming, to be honest.
09:30I don't blame them.
09:31We also said it makes it even worse for the faithfuls because if you, as a faithful,
09:36end up directing some attention at one of the traitors, not actually knowing if they're a traitor or not,
09:42you're immediately going to look like the secret traitor to the traitors.
09:46Because, obviously, the secret traitor knows who the traitors are.
09:48So, if you just happen to stumble as a faithful onto the right person and, say, in one of the traitors,
09:53you, even more than normal, maybe put more of a target on your back.
09:57But just because the traitors are going to want to get rid of you, so the secret traitor's gone.
09:59So, do you think the secret traitor will be looking to knock out fellow traitors at this point in the game?
10:06Yeah, I think they're already showing that.
10:08You know, when they found out who the shortlist was, they all looked a bit, they were like, why have they picked them?
10:18As if there's almost an agreement that these weren't people you needed to pick.
10:23And either that's just a fluke or the secret traitor's laying the stall out early of,
10:28I'm not on your side and I'm not going to go with people I think you want to.
10:32As much as I think the secret traitor is against them, I don't necessarily think they're going to be trying to get rid of them just yet.
10:38Because there's no need, they're going to just recruit them.
10:40Do you know what I thought was interesting though, to Lucy's point?
10:43How come all three of them were annoyed at the shortlist?
10:47So surely there's something that the traitors have like cottoned on to or, you know, they would have picked three different names.
10:55So I think, a part of me thinks the secret traitor has done that to maybe like make their lives a bit harder.
11:02The actual traitors, because all three of them were like, why have they picked these people?
11:06Well they had a discussion, they came to a sort of vague idea of who they might want to murder themselves.
11:11And then obviously it was completely different.
11:13I don't think there was any malice from the secret traitor picking those particular names.
11:18I just think they have very different ideas at this point.
11:20Yeah.
11:20Because there's so many people aren't they?
11:21Yeah, true.
11:22So then there's maybe a chance that at some point the traitors start to work out who the secret traitor is.
11:29Is that what you mean? That's such a clever point because they'll throw the heat onto them and they'll be like, whoa, that's weird.
11:36Yeah.
11:36But then can only mention it at the round table because they can't murder them at night.
11:41Such a clever game.
11:42It's so clever now.
11:43Who's part of this?
11:44It's good this show isn't it?
11:46Yeah, it's a good show.
11:46I just can't live any more of my life in this headspace though. It's like, oh God, I've got other things to be doing. I can't believe I've now got to work out who a secret traitor is. I've had months and months of this.
12:02I'm sorry we made you come on this Lucy.
12:03Now I'm, can you just tell, who is it?
12:07I don't know, I've got no idea.
12:08Isn't it frustrating?
12:09Yeah, it is.
12:10Mina, if this had happened on your series, how would it have altered your gameplay as a traitor?
12:15Oh, I feel like you just go into panic mode. Because like you guys said, as a traitor, that's all you want to get picked. You get picked. I'm with Armani and Linda, fantastic. And then Claudia tells you actually, there's somebody else pulling the strings. I just think you'd have to try and keep everyone on side until you can work out who it is.
12:36Yeah.
12:37It's the only thing that you can do. But then you don't know who it is. So then what if you try to spread rumours about them and they're like, okay.
12:45I think you know what you're doing. Your days are numbered.
12:47I don't know. It's so hard.
12:49I just feel like you'd be so annoyed as a traitor. You think, I think Hugo actually said it, you want all the control as the traitor.
12:57Yeah.
12:58And actually with their show, they haven't got all the control because there's this massive thing that they don't know about.
13:04We should talk about the new cohort of non-secret traitors, the traitors that we know about.
13:09How do we think Hugo's going to be as a traitor? Mina, what do you reckon?
13:13I think the other two are going to get rid of him.
13:16Yeah.
13:17That's what I think. I quite like him to be honest, but I feel like Rachel and Stephen are synced up on how they want to play this game.
13:25And I think they'll work as a team, but I think Hugo's got the potential to potentially rub them up the wrong way.
13:31Therefore, they'll be like, you're not helping our plans to win as traitors.
13:36Yeah. They already have said, haven't they, that they think if anyone's going to stick out, it's Hugo out of the three of them.
13:41And Rachel even said she don't trust him.
13:44And I think like, if you don't trust each other, yeah, it's not going to work.
13:53What do we think of Rachel as a traitor so far?
13:55Great. Good reaction faces to Storm.
13:57Yeah. Yeah. I'm enjoying watching her. I think she's going to go very, very far.
14:02And you think she's a bit like you. Yeah. She's a shard from the stack.
14:06Yeah. She seems in control, but in a very calm, like measured way.
14:11And Hugo's, I think, relishing playing the part.
14:14Yes.
14:15Like calling Claudia the queen of darkness and all of this sort of stuff.
14:18He's just, he's ready for panto.
14:20Yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:22He'd make a great dame. Yeah, he would.
14:24He's being very open about his job, being a barrister.
14:28And is that the sort of job that you would have thought maybe try and keep that secret?
14:30Definitely.
14:32I also think that he's going to really struggle not having all the power.
14:35Yeah.
14:36I think that he's going to, I think he's going to really, really find that hard.
14:39Because he went in there with that mindset.
14:40Yeah.
14:41And now it's flipped.
14:42I think it's flipped his whole game.
14:44And like, I think he's going to really struggle.
14:46Because obviously, once you're a traitor, like the whole thing is people not knowing who you are.
14:51So the fact that there's someone in that group that knows is scary.
14:55Yeah.
14:56And he strikes me as someone who has quite a lot of control and power in his life anyway.
15:01Yeah.
15:02So that's what he's used to.
15:03Yeah.
15:04Yeah.
15:04So to suddenly not have it, I think, is going to mess him up a little bit.
15:07Yeah.
15:08Yeah.
15:08And finally, Stephen.
15:09We should talk about Stephen.
15:09Very well dressed.
15:10Best dressed man on the show.
15:12Totally.
15:12Yeah.
15:13Do we think that's going to help him as a traitor?
15:14Yes.
15:14Yes.
15:15People trust fashionable people.
15:17Yes.
15:17Do they?
15:18Yeah.
15:19Look at Jonathan Ross.
15:20He stayed for ages.
15:21He wasn't fashionable.
15:22Do you not think it was his looks that kept him in?
15:24And I think these lot were like, do you know what?
15:26Let's just see what he's going to wear tomorrow.
15:27Wear tomorrow.
15:28Yeah.
15:28Yeah.
15:28So we're not saying he's as fashionable as Stephen, but he was quirky.
15:32I think let's see what Jonathan's wearing tomorrow is different to fashionable.
15:36Okay.
15:37I agree.
15:38There was one thing he was wearing.
15:39I thought it was alive.
15:43He sat next to me and I went, skunk in it, and he said, no, it's attached to my jacket.
15:51But yeah, Stephen seems very affable as well.
15:53I think people will naturally trust him.
15:55Yeah.
15:56Yeah.
15:56He seems quite like warm.
15:57Very friendly, charming.
15:59I think he's going to probably go through this out of the three.
16:01To describe him?
16:02Wholesome.
16:03Yep.
16:03He is wholesome.
16:04Yep.
16:05I think Pete, like you said, everyone's going to trust him.
16:07Yeah.
16:08And therefore, the faithful will doubt that he is a traitor.
16:11But I think Rachel trusts him and I think he's going to have Rachel's back.
16:15So they'll work well together.
16:16Yeah.
16:16Lucy, now, obviously, you and the other faithful in your series struggled to catch traitors
16:22for quite a long time.
16:23Yeah.
16:23What do you think the chances are in this series of the traitors sneaking under the radar
16:27like Alan and Kat did?
16:29I don't think it's going to happen.
16:31I don't think it's going to happen with this.
16:33And I think, adding the secret trait, I think there's going to be a bigger
16:37turnover.
16:38I think they're going to get there.
16:39Molly, if you were in there, as a faithful, is there anyone that you're suspicious of at
16:44this point?
16:45You're asking the wrong person, to be honest.
16:48Whoever she says, it's the opposite.
16:49Literally, don't listen to me.
16:52Well, is there anyone in there that you'd trust and would be your best friend right
16:55until the end of the game?
16:56Oh, yeah, definitely.
16:57All three of the traitors.
17:00To be honest, at this stage, it's so early.
17:03Like, it really is.
17:04You don't know each other yet, which is the hardest thing, because like, it's hard to know
17:07if someone's slipping up, like we talked about earlier.
17:09You don't know their personality.
17:10So, is that just them or is that them being guilty?
17:15I think once you kind of get to know people, you can pick up on things a lot better.
17:19Yeah.
17:19I say.
17:22Who would you write down on the first banishment?
17:26Whoever everyone else is writing down, to be honest.
17:28Would you?
17:29Yeah.
17:29That Fiona thing doesn't help, does it?
17:31Like what you were saying about the small little things to go on.
17:33Yeah.
17:34Maybe you'd vote Fiona.
17:35If I was a faithful, that's the only thing that I've got to go off.
17:38Yeah.
17:38That's it.
17:40You sit at the table with pretty much no idea.
17:42Nothing, yeah.
17:42You're obviously just going to take in everyone else's ideas.
17:45And to be quite honest, you're scared yourself of looking dodgy.
17:47So, you're going to literally put kind of what the group's saying.
17:51Yeah.
17:51And also, you need the group to work together to get someone out.
17:53And someone has to go, unfortunately.
17:55So, it kind of makes sense if you have no idea.
17:57Obviously, if you have an inkling, then yeah, it's good to bring it up.
18:00If you have no idea, then go with the group, I say.
18:03So, we've got a whole bunch of new players to get to know over the coming weeks.
18:08So, let's discuss a few of them here.
18:09We've got a lot of people with interesting jobs, this series.
18:13We've obviously got a secret barrister, someone who is a barrister,
18:17but keeping it secret in Harriet.
18:18But we've got Hugo, who is an actual barrister.
18:22Or is he?
18:22Or being, and Hugo is being honest about being a barrister.
18:25Oh, so now you're worried that Hugo is pretending to be a barrister.
18:28He's a lollipop man.
18:30I think he's a Claire Baldwin impersonator.
18:33I love how this secret traitor thing has made none of you trust anything.
18:37I don't believe him.
18:39Okay, well, I think I can tell you that Hugo is genuinely a barrister.
18:43It'd be a rubbish job to choose to lie about otherwise.
18:46Do you think that is going to draw suspicion to him?
18:48Yeah.
18:49Yeah, I think when people have got nothing, you grab onto anything.
18:51So, I definitely think.
18:53So, you think it's smarter, the thing that Harriet's doing,
18:55which is concealing being a barrister?
18:57Yeah, or like what Leanne did.
18:58I just think, do something that people see as more everyday relatable.
19:02True.
19:03I think it makes sense.
19:04And if she can keep it a secret, that is.
19:06Do you know what I mean?
19:06She might slip up.
19:07And I think that's another thing she's got to think about,
19:09is you are lying in some way.
19:12And of course, we have the massive secret relationship,
19:14Judy and Roxy, a mother and daughter.
19:16Yeah.
19:17Let's remind ourselves of when Roxy revealed the secret.
19:21Oh, my gosh.
19:22James is running wild saying Judy is a traitor.
19:26I don't know if she's a traitor or not.
19:28Judy seems lovely, but I'm bound to say that,
19:33considering she's my mum.
19:36Bloody hell, well, my mind's crumbling.
19:38Keeping it secret just because I think if you come in as a pair,
19:43it's almost like an alliance.
19:45I feel super protective over her.
19:48And hearing anyone, like, cast out on her for her actions
19:52is just generally not quite nice.
19:54So there we are.
19:55I mean, I personally think that Roxy's already doing quite a bad job
19:58of concealing the relationship.
20:00Because there's been conversations where she is talking to Judy
20:03in such a way that only a daughter would talk to their mum.
20:06Yeah.
20:06So going, you are quite loud, aren't you?
20:07It's like, no, you're supposed to have just met.
20:09You've just met me.
20:10You've just met.
20:11You're quite a loud lady, aren't you?
20:12I was thinking, of course, that's your mum.
20:14And also giving her tips, didn't she, in front of people.
20:16Yeah.
20:17It wasn't kind of like pulling her off to the side.
20:19Yeah.
20:19Because I know, like, Ross and Diane had little chats on the side.
20:21Like, Ross said to her at breakfast that morning, like,
20:23Mum, sort yourself out, kind of thing, didn't he?
20:26But with this, it was in front of someone, and she was kind of like,
20:29maybe go around to the group, kind of giving her advice.
20:32Yeah.
20:32Why are you giving another player advice at this point?
20:34It was also with DCI Amanda.
20:36Yeah, that's true.
20:39Because I thought, if I was Amanda, and Amanda's not the secret traitor,
20:43I would have thought, Roxy, are you the traitor?
20:45Because that's quite a weird thing to just say to someone you've met,
20:48Yeah.
20:49Like, 24 hours ago, kind of thing.
20:50Yeah.
20:51Yeah, they're goners, aren't they?
20:52Yeah.
20:54Tomorrow they're going to come into breakfast,
20:55and Judy's going to be cutting up Roxy's food for her.
20:58Thanks, Mum.
20:59Yeah.
21:00Here comes the aeroplane.
21:01Yeah.
21:03I didn't like them when they were accusing Judy,
21:06because you instantly really like her, and the fact that she's got a daughter,
21:09and the job she does and stuff, you feel quite protective.
21:13Yeah.
21:13So then, I mean, it would be a clever twist if someone so sweet isn't.
21:17And also, it would be an interesting twist, because she has a daughter in there.
21:21Yes.
21:22And again, like, I just think the secret traitor is just so mysterious,
21:26that it being someone's mum is well on top of it.
21:28It's like, bam, bam, bam.
21:29Mm.
21:29I hope it's Judy.
21:31It would be good.
21:32But, not if they're going to get her out.
21:34No, no, no.
21:34She needs to stay till the end.
21:36Um, now, the other major thing that happened in this episode for me
21:39was Nettie and Ross happened to know each other outside of the game.
21:42Poor old Ross.
21:42Ross was fuming.
21:43He did not want that bomb dropped, did he?
21:45No, he didn't.
21:45And this, I mean, this appears to be a genuine, complete coincidence.
21:49Yeah.
21:49That they just happened to have met beforehand.
21:51It's a long time ago as well.
21:52Yeah.
21:52It's not like a recent thing.
21:54No.
21:54And Nettie's like, Nettie just runs, like, oh my God, it's you!
21:57And Ross is like, whoa!
21:58He's like, whoa, no.
22:00Please.
22:01I'm convinced that they're actually like brother and sister,
22:05or like they're married.
22:06Because, I don't know, she was just, he was like, I think he said to her,
22:11let's pretend we don't know each other, and she wasn't listening.
22:14So then she's just like, forgot that they're supposed to not know each other.
22:18And then she's done that.
22:19And now he's like, yeah, we haven't known each other.
22:21We haven't seen her in 10 years.
22:22And it's like, you've seen her last night.
22:23So it's just a bit like, it's just like, yes and.
22:25It's just in.
22:26Yeah.
22:26Right, let's just do whatever.
22:27I think it is genuinely just the coincidence.
22:29Me too, isn't it?
22:30And she's made the decision in that second.
22:32She's not thought about it.
22:34And she said, oh, hello, we know each other.
22:36Whereas he's obviously had that extra thought of going,
22:38this will not help us in the game.
22:40Well, it didn't because they both had their names.
22:43He did.
22:44Did she as well?
22:45She did.
22:46Yeah.
22:46I think everyone's thinking what I'm thinking.
22:48Is there more to this than what they're saying?
22:50Mm-hmm.
22:51Second guessing everything.
22:52Yeah.
22:52I do think if people come to believe Nettie,
22:55then I feel like that that was genuine.
22:58Yeah.
22:59Then maybe they'll believe that she's a faithful
23:01because clearly she's not someone who's playing any kind of game
23:03or like a poker situation and has just gone, oh, yeah.
23:06And then maybe afterwards they'll be like, oh, I shouldn't have said that.
23:08Yeah.
23:09But it's therefore trustworthy.
23:11Yeah.
23:12Well, it was a jam-packed episode,
23:14but we can't move on until we've talked about the massive first mission,
23:18the coffins in the lake.
23:20But it wasn't as simple as it seemed because true traitors fashion,
23:23there was an extra layer of savagery
23:25who ever had a coffin with the gold symbol put into their grave.
23:30That meant that they were up for murder.
23:31Everyone who didn't have the coffin put in technically had a shield at that point.
23:35Pretty brutal.
23:37How do we think tactics played into this?
23:39One of the groups said that they were just going for the first names that they saw,
23:44which I think this early on in the game, that's probably what you're best doing.
23:48When you start to put people's names down for basically murder,
23:53it's kind of like you're saying they're a traitor or you don't trust them.
23:57And then that's going to cause people to think, well, why did you pick my name?
24:00I'd be upset.
24:01If I was a faithful and my name was one of those 10 names, I'd be really upset.
24:05Particularly if it was anything other than just at random.
24:07Yeah.
24:07Yeah.
24:08Whereas if it's random, then you're like, fair enough.
24:10It's the first name, whatever.
24:11Because they were all claiming random, weren't they?
24:13They were like, just put it in the closest one.
24:15Well, the other team were.
24:15There was a little one team that said that they had two people that they thought
24:20were maybe traitors.
24:21Therefore, don't bother wasting it on that.
24:24And then that's poor old Fiona's downfall when she got the wrong end of the oar.
24:27Yeah.
24:28But I'd also be upset if that was me and they'd just taken away my opportunity to have a shield.
24:33I'd be like.
24:33Agreed.
24:34Yeah.
24:34It's, yeah.
24:35You're going to remember that as well, aren't you?
24:37It's so difficult to know whether you should put the coffin in
24:40if you suspect someone of being a traitor or you should absolutely not put the coffin in.
24:44Yeah.
24:44And even if you do think those things, nobody wants to stick their neck out so early on.
24:48Yeah.
24:49I think doing the first thing you see is the easiest thing to do,
24:52because there's very little game playing.
24:54I think I'm just at the back of the coffin.
24:55I'm holding on to it.
24:56I'm saying nothing.
24:57Don't keep it quiet.
24:57Yeah, yeah.
24:58I go, where do you want me to put it?
24:59Yeah.
25:00Yeah.
25:00With the new twist of the secret traitor,
25:03Molly, what do you think people should be looking out for on the missions
25:07in terms of suspicions?
25:08The missions are going to be a good time for the traitors to look for the secret traitor,
25:12I guess.
25:14Anyone who's just wearing a bit of red, maybe.
25:17A red cloak would do it, wouldn't it really?
25:19That would help, I think.
25:21Would help me, first of all that.
25:22The thing is, the only person in there who would, I think, have red trousers would be
25:26Hugo, and we know he's a traitor already.
25:28I think the thing that people could pick up on about the secret traitor, if they're a traitor,
25:34it's kind of anyone trying to maybe throw them under the bus and kind of give clues,
25:38especially when it gets a bit deeper into the game and they need to find a traitor,
25:42because it does get to that point where the faithfuls need to find a traitor,
25:45because someone needs to go.
25:47Yeah.
25:47So I think when it gets to that point and they're doing missions, or even just day to day,
25:52seeing who's trying to throw you under the bus maybe might be a good way to pick them out.
25:56And obviously, we're narrowing it down now with who they can murder and things like that.
26:01But yeah, maybe something like that could help them.
26:03So who do we think is going to be the first murdered player?
26:06Obviously, the traitors are working from the shortlist of James, Nettie and Maz.
26:12So it's going to be one of those three.
26:14Oh, not Maz.
26:15No, not Maz.
26:15Maz is a sweetheart, isn't he?
26:17Oh, he is.
26:17But I don't think it'll be James, because I think he's been too vocal so far.
26:22Yeah.
26:22Therefore, the traitors could do with keeping him in,
26:24because he's going to be one of the hot suspects.
26:26So I feel like maybe Nettie considering the connection to Ross.
26:31But then do you not think there's suspicion on Nettie because of that connection?
26:34Right, so then Maz.
26:35I fear that it's going to be Maz.
26:38And I don't want it to be.
26:38He needs to practice his Cobra mark.
26:41Yeah.
26:43He wasn't quite there with it.
26:44Yeah.
26:45And he's not going to have time.
26:46No.
26:47Yeah, I think because James has been throwing out accusations.
26:50Yeah.
26:51So the traitors would be silly to get rid of him,
26:53because he will get himself banished.
26:55Yeah.
26:55That's what I think.
26:57Nettie is potentially looking shifty with the Ross connection.
27:01And then that leaves Maz.
27:02I don't want Maz to go.
27:04And I'll be devastated if it is him.
27:06Isn't it funny how you instantly, like,
27:08some people are just, you know, not that they're not all kind,
27:11but some people just radiate really kind face.
27:13There's a lot of very warm players this time.
27:16Yeah.
27:17I think Maz and Ross as well just really come through the screen.
27:22Yeah, definitely.
27:23I sort of love them already.
27:24When Maz said he had five kids, we all went, oh.
27:26Yeah, we did.
27:27Nice guys finish last, they say.
27:29Oh, no.
27:31I hope not.
27:32Well, we've run out of time here.
