00:00People, like, you know, debate it a lot.
00:02Like, you know, would you get punched in the face by Anthony Joshua
00:06and get your jaw broken in three different places for $92 million?
00:10And I think the answer is yes, right?
00:13Yeah, of course you would.
00:15But the thing is, the difference is, say what you will about Jake Paul,
00:18but, like, if Anthony Joshua punched me in the face
00:23like he punched Jake Paul in the face,
00:25I would have more than just a broken jaw.
00:28I might have, like, brain damage.
00:30Right?
00:30Like, give credit to Jake Paul that he ate the shot and stuff like that.
00:34So it's not as easy as just, oh, yeah, like, it's like, okay, yeah,
00:37you might have brain damage, you know what I mean?
00:39Like, you're not a professional fighter.
00:41You're not, like, Jake Paul at least trains and gets punched, et cetera.
00:44Like, the average person gets punched like that from Anthony Joshua.
00:47They could die.
00:48So, but imagine telling someone, yeah, do you want to fight Brock Lesnar
00:52in a real fight or get punched in the face by Anthony Joshua like that
00:56in a real fight for $90,000?
00:58He'd be like, no, the medical bills alone will be more than $90,000, right?
01:06So, yeah, like, so affliction was paying big-time money.
01:10The UFC now, Cormier basically said that fighters are making a lot more money now
01:15and stuff, and I have a lot of respect for Cormier as a fighter,
01:20but I'll be honest with you.
01:23I don't take a lot of what he says about UFC contracts when he is an employee
01:32of the UFC, you know what I'm saying?
01:35Like, I don't expect Daniel Cormier to go on a podcast and start talking about
01:40how fighters are greatly underpaid and the UFC is making so much money off of
01:45fighters as somebody that gets paid by them.
01:50So I'm not sure that Cormier said words about how, oh, yeah, you know,
01:54I don't know, people get paid a lot more than they used to.
01:57Yeah, I guess it's all kind of relative, but as I've stated,
02:00no one puts a gun to anybody's head.
02:02No one puts a gun to anybody's head, right?
02:04And, you know, BKFC, I don't think, like, BKFC fighters are getting paid a ton,
02:10but I think they like the freedom of, you know, and you heard what Ben
02:16Rothwell said.
02:17He goes, you know, I get treated with respect here because I've never really
02:20had that before.
02:21And I think that's something that people, you know, it's a business, right?
02:27The UFC, you're just an employee to them, right?
02:33Like, I think, you know, BKFC fighters feel a little bit more sort of
02:36appreciated, per se, in a similar sense of, like, what Sean Merriman's got going
02:40on because he was a pro athlete, but it's a cold world, man.
02:44I'm not calling the UFC out for their business practices.
02:47Nobody puts a gun to anybody's head and forces anybody to sign a contract with
02:50them.
