00:04Selamat sejahtera and terima kasih dari lubuk hati saya kerana sudi menjemput saya dalam majlis yang penuh bermakna ini.
00:20Standing here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the city that shaped my early dreams, I am filled with a sense of deep pride.
00:30It is truly an honour to be here with you as we prepare to welcome the world for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
00:40I have learned that light symbolises two things.
00:44First, to guide and illuminate our paths forward.
00:49And second, it is a beacon that signals to others, here we are.
00:55Visit Malaysia Year 2026 is not just about tourism.
01:01It is an invitation to experience our diversity, warmth, culinary symphony and our vibrant arts.
01:09When I was asked to take part in this I light you lightning ceremony, I thought of the lights on a film set, lights that reveal depth, colour and the emotion of a story about to unfold.
01:25Tonight, as we illuminate Kuala Lumpur, let us see the city as our set and the world as our audience.
01:35The story we share in 2026 will be one of breathtaking beauty, rich heritage and relentless innovation.
01:46To my fellow Malaysians, let us show the true meaning of Malaysian hospitality.
01:52And to our future guests, from near and far, our arms, our hearts, and our shining country are open to welcome you.
02:04Biarlah cahaya ini memanca sebagai lambang masa depan gemilang yang kita bina bersama.
02:12And may the light we switch on tonight shine brightly in the hearts of all who see it.
02:18Rakan-rakan menteri, Tansri Michelle Yeoh.
02:23Saya tahu sudah datang untuk lihat dan dengar Michelle Yeoh.
02:28I'm realistic enough to accept that fact.
02:32Jadi, saya nak menafatkan waktu ini.
02:34Betul kita nak lancarkan I Light You.
02:37Thank you again to the all ministers and ministries and Dewan Mandaraya for supporting this event.
02:42But it is a rare honor, a real pleasure, and a distinguished honor for all Malaysians that we have with us.
02:53They are standing and I'm horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible of the wicket and the first Asian Oscar winner.
03:09So, I thought I'll do away with all the protocols, arrangements, and the formal speeches.
03:20You ever heard me before?
03:21You get to hear again?
03:23So, let us hear from her.
03:24Now, she's an outstanding actress.
03:30I mean, versatile in all sort of characters.
03:36And she stood with that discipline and zeal.
03:41And I would say then, let us hear from her.
03:49What is it that drive her to prove that a Malaysian girl from a remote town in Perak
04:00could come up and emerge as a great Hollywood star?
04:06The floor is yours.
04:08Oh, my goodness.
04:14Oh, my goodness.
04:15Oh, my goodness.
04:16I think I am blushing.
04:18I'm so red right now.
04:20Thank you for those incredible words.
04:22That is so, I so appreciate it, especially coming from you, sir.
04:27You have been a great inspiration to many people for what you have done for our country as well.
04:32I am very privileged to be here tonight.
04:35And thank you.
04:38And I wasn't ready for this.
04:41But I know what you want.
04:44Madam Moribar, flip it around with a bitch.
04:47I think what it is, like all my fellow Malaysians, we know what it is to work hard.
04:56When you work hard and when the opportunity arises, you have the chance to seize it and do and run with it and do well, hopefully.
05:04So I have been very blessed to have wonderful parents, family who have been so supportive.
05:11And I know every time I come back to Malaysia and I walk down the streets and I see all your faces, you inspire to me to do more and to represent you all well in the rest of the world.
05:23So thank you for all your encouragement and support and I will continue to do my very best to make sure Malaysia boleh.
05:32Thank you.
06:03tienes!
06:03We are proud Malaysians.
06:07When I say Malaysians, I'm referring to the Malays, the Chinese, the Indian, the Sarawakians, the Sabahans.
