00:00In San Francisco, the Seahawks get a win.
00:02What an under.
00:03I got to say, I said to someone watching the game,
00:06oh, it's not a bad game.
00:08Yeah, you bet the under.
00:10Because usually I'd be screaming about how awful the game probably is,
00:13but this game at 13-3, the opening drive, Joe,
00:19set the tone with a seven-and-a-half-minute ball gets down to the one,
00:24turnover on downs, no point affair.
00:27Right.
00:27There wasn't going to be a ton of points put up in this football game.
00:31A three-point second half, right?
00:35A 13-3 final score ultimately here for the Seahawks.
00:39I ask you the same question I asked you with the Carolina and Tampa Bay game.
00:43What was your biggest takeaway from Seahawks Niners?
00:45Just how I believe now, to me, there's no doubt.
00:50I do believe the Seattle Seahawks have the best defensive unit in the NFC
00:55and maybe all of the league right now.
00:58They're physical.
00:59They have a front seven that gets after it.
01:01They're very good in run support.
01:03The back end can play man-to-man coverage,
01:05and they could utilize multiple blitz packages,
01:08which allows them to get pressure even on mobile quarterbacks.
01:12And I think that's a testament to what McDonald has done.
01:15And I think that when we think about dominant defensive performances, right,
01:23carrying for a Super Bowl, modern day, you think Tampa's success with Brady over Mahomes,
01:29you think of the Eagles' dominance over Mahomes last year with the front seven.
01:35Defensively, I think that Seattle could go toe-to-toe with anybody, right, in a playoff matchup.
01:43Yep.
01:44And here's the big if.
01:46If they don't turn the football over, then they can run it effectively.
01:49And two of the three are true.
01:52And I'll keep going back to this.
01:56Look, he played well enough to get the victory yesterday,
01:59and I'll give him all the credit because he was in that situation last year,
02:03Sam Darnold against the Detroit Lions, and he failed miserably.
02:07Yeah.
02:08But that was against a beaten-down defense in San Francisco,
02:13one of the worst statistical secondaries in the NFL,
02:16that multiple quarterbacks have torched this year, okay?
02:21Do I think he could walk into the link and do that?
02:25Do I think he can, you know, even at home, play the Eagles like that
02:31or the Rams again in that type of situation?
02:33No.
02:34No.
02:35And there you go.
02:36So turnovers in playoff games ultimately dictate whether or not you move on.
02:43And the key question mark for me, great, great job, Sam Darnold.
02:47You got the W.
02:48Yeah.
02:49Body of work.
02:50And if we played this scenario out ten times, I guarantee you five times
02:55or six times, he's turning the football over multiple times.
02:58I'm not buying into it.
03:00Joe, I understand.
03:03You disagree?
03:05No.
03:05I disagree because I don't think you were hard enough is how I feel.
03:11We have now seen the Seattle Seahawks, after the four-interception game
03:15against the Rams, played two of these monster games, a rematch with the Rams
03:19and then against San Francisco.
03:20And their offensive strategy is, Sam, you will not lose this game for us.
03:26And he still, by the way, managed to almost do it against the Rams
03:30the second go-around, okay?
03:33And then the matchup with the Niners, it's just run, run, run, run, run,
03:38throw to an open JSN, you know, right screen passes, you know,
03:43all of a sudden Ken Walker, they're realizing how talented of a player he is.
03:46But they certainly got it going in terms of the ground attack.
03:49It, to me, has been clear as day for a long time that the Seahawks season
03:55will end with everybody going like, wow, Sam Darnold, can't do that.
04:00That is just what I've seen from this group.
04:03And when I say, like, I don't believe I am, or you, are being stubborn
04:10and, like, trust me it'll eventually catch up to him.
04:13No, I feel stronger about the opinion watching him in these big games.
04:17They don't let him throw it all over the yard.
04:19They're horrified of what will happen if they do just that.
04:23And we always are attempting to evaluate the offense through the lens of the quarterback,
04:27and the quarterback, in my opinion, of the number one seed is not to be trusted.
04:32But on the San Francisco side, their season might as well have ended yesterday.
04:38This team goes into that game, no Trent Williams, no Ricky Pearsall.
04:42Well, who knows if those guys are back next week.
04:45Brock Purdy looked like they were going to bring the card out for him on the final play of that game.
04:49I see he's getting smashed.
04:52George Kittle's not 100% healthy.
04:54The pipe dream of Fred Warner coming back's not happening.
04:57And now, a pitiful defense.
05:01By the way, it's like, ooh, they held him to 13.
05:03Yeah, okay, that's because the Seahawks did about a gazillion things wrong.
05:06Did Seattle even punt in that game?
05:08Once or twice, maybe?
05:09I think once in the first half.
05:11They punted one time.
05:13I mean, it was just, they moved the ball, it felt like, at will in that football game, right?
05:19And now, the cherry on top is for the San Francisco offense, Joe.
05:26So, they are going to, they are going, if they end up the 5C, to Tampa or Carolina.
05:32They'll be booked as a favorite short.
05:34If not, they go to Chicago or Philadelphia.
05:38I don't think there's going to be a lot of trust in the Niners there.
05:40I've said this to you, preseason pick on the Niners to win the conference.
05:44And if the Niners had a healthy season, this whole thing might be different.
