00:00I think the Yankees are in a period of frustration to some degree.
00:04Off-season last year, at the moment they lose Juan Soto,
00:07they were able to enact a plan that they really liked
00:10and able to do a lot of things and match up well.
00:12Max Fried, they were very comfortable giving him the $200 million plus that he received.
00:18He was a guy they really loved.
00:20And then they made a series of trades for Bellinger, Fernando Cruz, Devin Williams
00:25that they were also comfortable with.
00:27And this off-season, they just have not found matches to their liking.
00:31They have felt the free agency prices on relief pitchers have been way too high.
00:36They were interested in, say, a reunion with Luke Weaver
00:39and were surprised where that number went.
00:41They've tried on Bellinger, obviously, and don't like where the number is at currently.
00:45They've tried for a couple of starting pitchers, including Cabrera.
00:48So where does that leave them?
00:50It leaves them either having to raise prices, whether in prospects or in dollars,
00:56or live with kind of what they have right now.
01:00In the outfield, end up being Bellinger.
01:02Will they have to do a secondary thing, like perhaps reunite with Harrison Bader
01:07as a right-hand complement to someone like Dominguez or Jones
01:10and a little bit to use in center field instead of Trent Grisham?
01:15And can they find the starting pitcher they like in this marketplace?
01:18And I do think that Hal Steinbrenner is restricting dollars.
