00:00Oh, my God.
00:01Wait, what is on the...
00:02There is a smudgerini.
00:05Sending Saltina home is absolutely devastating.
00:09The room is gonna feel so weird without them
00:12and their mantras.
00:13Oh, my God.
00:14But it's all right.
00:15It means I'm staying.
00:16That's how the saltine crumbles.
00:19I didn't need to win to realize I'm worth it.
00:22We'll miss you, Saltina.
00:23Oh, I love you so much, girl.
00:25The ass that don't quit.
00:27I am sad to see Saltina go.
00:29I feel like she has been a guardian angel
00:32for me throughout this competition.
00:33But I'm used to friends going home,
00:35whether it's me sending them home or somebody else.
00:37So I need to focus on the prize.
00:40And if anything, bring that crown home for Ottawa.
00:42Whoa, no, wait, you ate that lipstick.
00:44No, you turned that lipstick.
00:46I was like, it's my third time here.
00:48I need to just have fun.
00:50I need to go out there and just do what I do.
00:52Because if I'm going out, I'm not going out with my head low.
00:55I'm going out doing my shit.
00:57Like, you fucking did that.
00:59Thanks, y'all.
01:00Congrats, Van.
01:01Oh, my God, thank you so much.
01:03I am so focused.
01:05Baby, after my safe streak and then my little stint on the bottom,
01:08I'm back on top.
01:09And, baby, I have three challenge wins.
01:11I'm going to take that fucking crown.
01:12I'm, like, the second person to ever win three challenges
01:14on Canada's record.
01:15Oh, wow.
01:15After Rita, and I'm just, like, so gagged.
01:18Van has the most impressive track record, maybe,
01:21in the whole franchise.
01:22This is incredible what she's accomplished.
01:24Does that mean she has the win secured yet?
01:27Not on my watch.
01:29I really thought this was my week.
01:30That's crazy.
01:31You almost died.
01:32Is that crazy?
01:33It was a black fucking dress.
01:34OK, but it was close.
01:36I can't believe, out of all challenges,
01:38I was in the top four at the design challenge.
01:39Like, are you kidding me?
01:41I'm definitely a little sad I didn't get the win.
01:44But, I mean, I didn't go to fashion school, so that's what it is.
01:48Can you explain the apple?
01:49The apple?
01:50Oh, she thinks you look like an apple.
01:52Are you not an apple?
01:53No.
01:54I'm a pink carnation flower.
01:55Oh, pink carnation is crazy.
01:57I thought I was given, like, Paris Spring Summer,
01:59because, like, they eat apples in Paris.
02:01They eat apples everywhere.
02:03All right, I think I want to get out of this apple.
02:05Bye.
02:06Do it.
02:07Do it.
02:09The other queens should be thanking me,
02:11because I got out some really big threats.
02:13You really thought the hot clothes on black dress
02:15was going to beat me?
02:15I was close.
02:16I have more in me, and I am ready to show it.
02:19Oh!
02:20I am ready to fight.
02:21This is what I've came here to do.
02:23How many people can PM take out?
02:26Let's send the rest of these bitches home.
02:29Oh, my God.
02:29Oh, oh, oh, oh.
02:31Count it, one, two, three.
02:33It's a new day in the work room, and I need to be a top.
02:36I need to prove it to myself and to the world
02:39that I am the Dom Top that I claim to be.
02:42Top five!
02:43Yeah!
02:44I can't believe it.
02:45I can.
02:46No, you can't.
02:47I believe it.
02:48She believed, he lied.
02:50It feels so good to be in the top five
02:53and to be here with everyone having such a unique take on drag.
02:57Highly iconic.
02:59This is everything right now.
03:00I am wanting my first win.
03:02I have sent home a quarter of the competition.
03:05Oh, my God.
03:06We have, like, multiple lip sync assassins.
03:07Like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
03:09We have one lip sync assassin.
03:11That title was given in this layoff, and we have a lip sync survivor.
03:14Oh, no.
03:15Girl, you are a lip-synker, and you're a good lip-synker.
03:19Assassin, I fear not.
03:21Okay, wait.
03:22I just snatched my third win.
03:25I have one maxi win and a mini win, which is something.
03:29Sure.
03:29I have no win, and I'm honestly a little frustrated just looking at the statistics.
03:34I feel like you've been in the bottom four times.
03:36I've been in the bottom twice, and I actually fought my way to be here.
03:39Like, I wasn't given the Bieber.
03:41I just feel, like, so discounted, and it's really frustrating me,
03:45and, like, you two have each other, and you two have each other,
03:48and I just feel like nobody sees me as, like, competition.
03:53I feel like from week one, when I wasn't in the top five,
03:56I was just upset at myself.
03:58I felt like I let myself down, and then throughout the competition,
04:01I kind of built up that confidence.
04:03But I've seen all these girls can do.
04:05I believe in all of them, and I feel like the support is not being given back.
04:08It's like, fuck.
04:09Like, what the fuck do I have to do?
04:10And I feel like I fought my way to this top five,
04:12and, like, I'm really proud of myself, but I just, like...
04:15Honestly, just the fact that you fought your way here,
04:19I see you even more now in the top five.
04:21Like, I see you as a strong top five.
04:24I can feel that there's a performance challenge coming.
04:26I just have that feeling, and this thing.
04:31Girl, too much.
04:32I'd be down for another design challenge.
04:33Oh!
04:35She's not just a dancer.
04:36Not anymore, yeah.
04:39Well, let's find out.
04:40No waiting no more.
04:42Ooh, Canada.
04:44Dean and I already, then hey, I'd hear.
04:45Ladykins, we've almost reached the climax.
04:50But you can't get wet without making a splash.
04:54After all, Canada's next drag superstar never comes last.
04:58Oh, okay.
05:00Oh, okay.
05:02Mother knows.
05:03Well, hello, my little moose knuckles.
05:06Oh!
05:06Yes!
05:07Oh!
05:07Okay, well.
05:08Um, Miss Brooklyn, I think there's a hole in your suits.
05:11Queens, we are one stop away from the finish line.
05:15Ah!
05:16But which of you will earn your spot in the finale?
05:18Ooh!
05:19Like we always say, Canada's next drag superstar needs to have charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and
05:24talent.
05:25And it's time for you to be tested on each of these qualities in four separate challenges.
05:30Ah!
05:31Four?
05:32In this week's maxi challenge, we'll be holding the first ever cunt test.
05:36Oh!
05:37Yes!
05:38Wait, this is sick of it.
05:39I'm living.
05:40There will be four rounds, and you must win one of them to claim your place in next week's
05:44fight for the crown.
05:45Oh, my God.
05:46The losing queens will cunt-tenue to fight for their spot.
05:51Okay, goodbye.
05:52There's no second best here, so take big swings, because fortune favors the bold, baby.
05:58Work.
05:58First up, your charisma will be put to the test.
06:01You'll take to the main stage and perform a she-larious rap about one of the first five
06:05seasons of Canada's Drag Race.
06:07The queen who serves the most charisma will snatch the first spot in the finale.
06:12Meaning, they don't have to compete in the other rounds.
06:14Oh, that's the guy.
06:16Winning the first part of the challenge would be everything.
06:18You should get to sit back and watch the other four bitches compete for the last three
06:22spots.
06:23What the fuck is going on here?
06:24I really don't want to be dragging my black ass and doing four damn maxi challenges
06:28in one week.
06:30And you'll really want to step it up, because joining us this week is Grammy Award-winning
06:33Broadway darling, Alison Russell.
06:36Hello.
06:37Hi.
06:38How about Grammy?
06:39Racers, start your engines.
06:41And may the best drag queen shine.
06:44Yeah.
06:45Shine.
06:46How fucking gaggy is it that we are about to fight for our spots in the top four?
06:53One of us is moving to the top four today.
06:55That's insane.
06:56That's wacky.
06:57Yes, it's a performance, but it's also charisma.
07:00So it's about how you embody in your stage presence and, like, how you bring it to life.
07:04I really want to win that first round, but especially with charisma, bitch, I feel like
07:08I do best when the judges get to see me for who I am.
07:11And so I'm going to give them the taste of Ebony fucking 2,000 motherfucking percent.
07:15Also, like, a rap about the first five seasons of Canada's Drag Race, I live.
07:20The hardest part of this challenge is that, girl, we're rapping, and we're rapping quickly.
07:24Like, I'm a white girl from New Brunswick.
07:26Do I look like a rapper?
07:28I feel like it's going to be knowing the words, knowing your timing, knowing where the
07:32pause is and where the humor needs to be infused into it.
07:36I'm just ready to shut up a lot of people and a lot of the chatter in my head.
07:40Yeah, I feel the same way.
07:41I feel like especially after, like, the judges seeing me last week, I feel like I'm on such
07:45an incline and a ride, so I have to make sure I don't stumble.
07:49Yeah.
07:50The thing about this challenge is, like, after this week, no matter what, you can't say that
07:54no one's counted you out, because for this one, you have to count yourself in.
07:57You also can't say you didn't earn your spot in the end at this point, because, bitch, that's
08:00literally what the challenge is, it's earn your spot in the end.
08:03Girl, this is, like, the obstacle course of drag right now.
08:06It's like, it feels like the whole competition we've done so far, all in one challenge.
08:10Yeah.
08:10This is it.
08:12This is our last moment to prove to the judges and show them
08:15why we deserve to be in this finale.
08:17I am ready to show these bitches why I sent four people home.
08:20Clock it.
08:21Well, let's get ready to show our full cunts to the world.
08:25Yeah.
08:25Let's do it.
08:29Welcome to round one.
08:30The queen who brings the most pure charisma will claim their space in the finale.
08:34To tell us about season one, it's Ebony LaBelle.
08:37Season one, it's time to untuck.
08:39Juicebox is an angel.
08:40Help me, I'm stuck.
08:41We got so many icons.
08:42So where do we start?
08:43Your lace line looks like barf.
08:44Juicebox is an angel.
08:45Help me, I'm stuck.
08:46We got so many icons.
08:47So where do we start?
08:48Your lace line looks like barf.
08:52Your hair is fried.
08:53The wig should go directly in the corner.
08:56Well, you're wearing some crusty ass golden girl's bullshit on your head and you're coming for me.
09:01Rita wants a hot dog.
09:02Jimbo want a fight.
09:03And Kiki want a kai kai cause she drove all night.
09:05And Starzy beating me and she's not sorry about it.
09:08Priyanka, the only thing you're fucking is stupid.
09:10Miss John Rivers came back from the dead.
09:12Miss Luz Ja back at it again.
09:15Strutting like Brooklyn, serving like Tracy.
09:17Honey, this is Christmas, baby.
09:20It's called Honey, apostrophe, this is Christmas, baby.
09:23Oh, yes, honey.
09:24I'll be sure to look for it at Walmart.
09:28Uh-huh.
09:29Hey, Scarlet Bo Bo, you wore it well.
09:31But Bo are gonna show you how to read a bitch down.
09:33Got a queen of the world, queen of the Hall of Fame.
09:36And our first Drake superstar, uh, what's her name?
09:39Season two are coming back to me now.
09:48We got two-headed queens and a forearm step down.
09:50We got 6,000 memorable moments from Eve.
09:53And don't forget, I got a chick up my sleeve.
09:55And you never saw it coming, baby.
09:59Did I see it coming, coming?
10:02Pause for the big reveal.
10:04Oh, ho couture out of cold checkroom ticks.
10:06Your new love verse the sad song and I'm the remix.
10:09And ping, bang, and bomb couldn't stick to the pitch.
10:11Remember when I said I had bad knees?
10:13I lied, bitch.
10:14Big top bi flop, giddy up hoes.
10:16Suki stunning, but Yoko was an oh no.
10:18I bet we'll be seeing that prom queen again.
10:21It's time to serve Northern Lights, camera, action.
10:24I just have this horrible feeling like something bad is gonna happen today.
10:29Well, whatever it is, I'm sure that's anointment for it.
10:33Kendall gonna give you hip pads for the gods.
10:35Gia gonna give another long monologue.
10:38Isis gonna give you a new trendsetta.
10:40She's queen of the north singing La Pusetta.
10:42Season three, yeah, this feels correct.
10:51You better give me one shot at this roulette.
10:54I mean, what's that French?
10:55I mean, who knows?
10:56I mean, like, I literally was fucked by a ghost.
10:59Time the door was open.
11:00And I'm just like, what's going on?
11:02Like, my booty hole, it felt weird.
11:05Like, it felt like a sensation, like a tingling.
11:08Damn mighty tux, bitch throw my luck.
11:10Another bra and panties.
11:12This bitch is shook.
11:13Sidewalk to catwalk, Curie to Monroe.
11:15That was so unprofessional.
11:18This squirrel's trip ain't going to plan.
11:20This girl didn't just come here to tan.
11:22Bombay be struttin', boom boom be designin'.
11:24Don't forget these hot glue gun girls, they be fightin'.
11:27I know that bitch, I am fucking thinking.
11:30I just do not get along with her.
11:31She's not a great person to work with, period.
11:36These cosmetic queens are kinda heated.
11:39Vivian got control, alt deleted.
11:41A new day has come, so just open your eyes.
11:43Giselle snaps the crown, wavin' lullaby.
11:47Hey!
11:53Season four, golden beaver come through.
11:55Sexy, super shoeless, but I guess that'll do.
11:57Got lip sync so sickening, got hot tits so spicy.
12:00Got untucks that aren't gettin' a little feisty.
12:02I said what I said, and I needed to reciprocate that with gratitude.
12:07Fuck this noise.
12:08I'm not here for it.
12:09Well, we're not here for it either.
12:11Fuck!
12:12It's an icon, Virga is the most.
12:14Someone let Melinda Virga feel her ghost.
12:17Amy's wearing towels and Neera can't sew.
12:19Okay.
12:19Safe, Melinda.
12:20And let's do a show.
12:21That double shanté had us all wired.
12:24That russical was Brooklyn-inspired.
12:26Love me like a love bug, flexible and limber.
12:28She's ready to get fingered.
12:31What?
12:32What?
12:33She's ready to get rig-fingered.
12:35She's ready to get fingered.
12:37I'm like, get fingered?
12:38She looks like she's fingered.
12:40These girls are iconic.
12:41These girls are hilarious.
12:43And this girlfriend is a hold-down experience.
12:45Then I'm servin' China, seein' Luna servin' attitude.
12:47And Luna servin' winner, seein' thanks with gratitude.
12:49Xanadu.
12:50Woo!
12:57Season 5 walking through these doors like,
13:00Who the fuck are these gorgeous whores?
13:02We got slay-off teams, you better go off, Queenies.
13:04Wait, wait, wait, wait.
13:05Is that a family?
13:07That is not a family.
13:09That's a hot cup of coffee.
13:11That is not family behavior.
13:14That's bedroom behavior.
13:15Peerless, sweet, petite, and ready to eat.
13:19Xanadu, Xanadu, don't know how to find the beat.
13:21These fast fashion queens, they got thrifty.
13:2330, 7, 50.
13:26What just happened?
13:27We got 90's fever.
13:28And that smash game was more wooden than the beaver.
13:30And Miss Brooklyn Heights rockin' cis custom fits.
13:33And, um, hold up.
13:34Someone just quit?
13:35You know what?
13:36I'm so fucking done.
13:38Like, are you fucking kidding?
13:40No, I'm done.
13:40I am sick of her shit.
13:43Fuck you.
13:44Anyway.
13:44Maxi, winner.
13:46Minnie, wang.
13:47Poison.
13:47Control knocked him out with a bang.
13:49Rapping house of couture, she took it to the sky.
13:51But it's Virgo season, bitch, get in line.
13:55Hey!
13:58Queens, that was so much fun!
14:01Yes!
14:02We did it, Joe.
14:03From each and every single one of you.
14:05What a fun trip down memory lane.
14:07Thank you for that.
14:08Five wrap dresses stand in front of us.
14:11This is a tough one because we can only pick one winner.
14:13And there were such great things about every performance.
14:15Ebony, your ease and your flow is so lovely to watch on stage.
14:20I love how you just rolled through that.
14:22Like, this was always your song and always what you were gonna do.
14:25I loved it.
14:26I've said you're a superstar before.
14:27You just proved it once again.
14:29Well done.
14:30Sammy, you're so stupid.
14:33Right?
14:33And I love it.
14:35You reminded me of, like, dark, divine, dominant comedy with Cam.
14:39So brilliant.
14:40You were my little trashy Barbie and I love it so much.
14:43I would wear all of them.
14:44It's like a Barbie you've played with too much.
14:46No.
14:46Exactly.
14:47Those aren't my favorite Barbie.
14:47They've been around.
14:48They've been around.
14:49I love it.
14:49Caramel, you have such a power to you.
14:53And you just stand so beautifully in it.
14:55The storytelling was off the hook.
14:57And I thought you really found the moments to, like, stop when you needed to.
15:01Which, you know, I'm a sucker for those still moments.
15:05PM, you brought such great comedy moments.
15:08I was dying over the ring finger moment over here.
15:11The physical comedy, the slapstick that you were putting into it as well.
15:14I'm a sucker for a good dance and a high kick into a floor split to a little bit of fingering, so.
15:20Van Gogh, you had such intensity, which I loved, and, like, grit.
15:24And you were like, I'm here to do this.
15:25You really brought it to life.
15:27Just really magnetic.
15:29I couldn't take my eyes off of you.
15:30Your impersonations of other queens from the other seasons.
15:34I mean, the storytelling from each of you.
15:36It's incredible what all of you are doing.
15:38Well, queens, we've made our decision.
15:41PM, you are the winner of the charisma.
15:44Are you fucking kidding me?
15:47I hate it.
15:48Oh, my God.
15:52Outrageous.
15:54I cannot even catch my breath.
15:58I did it.
15:59I'm in the fucking finale.
16:01PM, you have claimed the first ticket into the season six grand finale.
16:06Work, baby.
16:08Good job, Pam.
16:10You may leave the stage.
16:11You can go home.
16:12Bye.
16:12Bye, bitches.
16:14I have no idea what these other competitors are going to be doing for the rest of these
16:22days up to come.
16:23But all I know is I get to sit back and smoke a joint and watch the show.
16:29Sorry, bitches.
16:30As for the rest of you, fear not, your second chance to advance starts now.
16:37Oh, my God.
16:39For your next battle, it's time to unleash your uniqueness.
16:43Girl.
16:43You'll each be given the same dress, and we want to see it transformed into a one of a kind
16:49couture creation that screams you.
16:52Thank you so much.
16:54Redemption.
16:55Be the singular sensation, and you'll sashay directly into the finale.
16:59Ready, set, stitch.
17:04Oh.
17:05Here we go.
17:08Bye.
17:08Bye.
17:16Oh, work.
17:18Now what in the...
17:19Girl, that is nothing.
17:20Figure skating tease.
17:21All right.
17:23Well, let's make you into something nice.
17:25And uniqueness starts right now.
17:28We all get the same dress, and we have to transform it into our own unique point of view.
17:34Well, another day, another design challenge.
17:37The hot glue is still drying on my other dress, and I have to make a new one?
17:41This is so depressing.
17:43I'm spiraling again.
17:43Why the fuck do we have another fucking design challenge?
17:47Evil.
17:48Conniving.
17:49Rude.
17:49Ugh.
17:52Do you have any ideas?
17:53Anything come to mind?
17:55I'm just figuring out how I can use this without using it.
17:59Girl.
18:00I kind of want to start from scratch.
18:01I'm just saying.
18:03What are you guys thinking over there?
18:05I'm thinking about making something unique.
18:10Well, yes.
18:11I am thinking it's my third design challenge, and I feel like I pulled a lot of tricks out
18:16of my bag, and I'm hoping that I have one more to pull out.
18:19After winning both design challenges of the season, I feel like I have this expectation
18:24and this baseline level with the judges of what I can deliver.
18:27This design challenge is all about me.
18:29I'm not helping anyone anymore.
18:33Man, you know how to make a pleated shirt?
18:35Yeah?
18:36Pleat it.
18:38What do you want to know exactly?
18:40How to make a pleated skirt.
18:42But that's the whole thing.
18:44Like, what do you think you know?
18:47Nothing.
18:48My plan on this design challenge is to stay far away from Ebony.
18:51I do not want to get sucked into that vortex.
18:55This challenge is literally about putting yourself first and getting your spot in the top four.
18:59No one's going home, so I don't need to worry about her.
19:01I need to worry about me and getting myself to the end.
19:03I'm looking at this fugly black dress, and she is not standing out.
19:12Interesting.
19:12So I need to make her stand out.
19:14How can I make her stand out?
19:16Are we feeling denim?
19:20Should I do a denim tutu?
19:22I want my dress to tell me what I should do.
19:26How do you want to feel?
19:28And I can guide her through into her blossoming moment on the main stage.
19:33Girl, I got you.
19:37We're going to get you good.
19:38Tell me what you want.
19:40I can get you there.
19:41Okay.
19:46What's everyone's designs going to be like?
19:49Like, do you guys have direction yet?
19:51Because I don't.
19:53I am going to do something very different from my first two designs.
19:55I'm going to do a very punk moment.
19:59Are you going to, like, use this ugly fabric at all in the finish?
20:03I am, because I think if I didn't, that would be not the challenge.
20:06Oh, wow.
20:06And you're going to, like, it's going to be, like, visible.
20:08It's going to be visible, yes.
20:10Damn.
20:11Out of all the design challenges, Van, which one do you feel is the hardest?
20:13This one?
20:15Yeah, because it's my third one.
20:17I also just think, like, it's like, I have, like, an expectation,
20:20so I just need to, like, live up to that.
20:21Okay, I'm like, you got praised last week for, like, you know,
20:23stepping aside your box and, like, they all knew you couldn't sew,
20:25but you, like, deliver something that, like, you delivered a boring black dress.
20:28So it's like...
20:29But I almost beat you.
20:31Oh, you did not almost beat me.
20:32I did.
20:33I would say that Van is obviously the biggest competition.
20:35I know she designs.
20:36I know what she can do.
20:37But that's enough from her.
20:39Her time's over.
20:40Let it go.
20:40First half of the competition, Van, sure, whatever.
20:42Second half, Caramelk is coming for that fucking crown.
20:44I could have won the challenge over you.
20:46Our critiques were pretty much the same.
20:47Oh.
20:48Girl, by Caramelk acting like she's a fucking designer now.
20:53Bitch, you hot glued fucking fabric to a corset.
20:56Brooklyn said that my look was the best made
20:58and she was the most impressed by mine.
21:00What did you get?
21:01She loved my look.
21:02She said she would wear it.
21:03It was just like...
21:03You got the midsection was wrong.
21:05There was no hem on the bottom.
21:06And it was a black dress.
21:07She said there was just minor details.
21:08But I feel like for me, not actually being a designer,
21:10just to have those few edits, kind of ate you up.
21:13Let's see if you can pull it off again without Suki's help.
21:15Let's see, girl.
21:17I want to make a similar dress to what I made for Brooklyn,
21:20but kind of in a way that fits me my own way and my culture.
21:23I want to kind of do what I did last week, but better.
21:26Wait, guys, guys, guys, I have announcements.
21:28Oh, these are nice.
21:29Don't touch, bitch.
21:30I'm giving uniqueness because I am uniquely terrified
21:36and uniquely shit at this.
21:39My biggest fear right now is, like,
21:40I really don't want my outfit to fall off of me.
21:43I don't want it to break.
21:45I don't want it to look like sheds.
21:47So many fears.
21:49Why have one when you could have it all?
21:51I'm happy for your revelation, sister.
21:53Thank you, and I hope you fail.
21:55Oh.
21:56What?
22:01This dress right here, the one that I'm using as a base,
22:03is all gold.
22:04And I only wear it for Acadian events
22:07because, like, our, like, symbol is the gold star.
22:11Girl, I really think that, like, my Acadianess
22:13is a big part of my uniqueness.
22:15Whether I'm in a queer space,
22:17I want to bring my Acadian culture with me.
22:19If I'm in an Acadian space,
22:21I want to bring queerness with me
22:22because there are two things
22:24that are so integral to who I am as a person.
22:27What's your Acadian last name again?
22:29LeBlanc.
22:30LeBlanc.
22:30LeBlanc.
22:31Growing up, I always knew I was Acadian,
22:32and I just, like, never had a lot of opportunities
22:36to really connect with it.
22:37My nana, Yvonne LeBlanc, is...
22:40Yvonne?
22:40Yeah.
22:41Yes.
22:41You know, very Acadian.
22:43It's a very Acadian name, yes.
22:44Um, she's actually the reason why I got into sewing.
22:47I found her, like, old sewing machine in my basement.
22:49She's, like, didn't grow up with a lot of money,
22:51so, like, sewing was kind of more of, like, a tactical...
22:53Yes.
22:54Like, reason.
22:54My grandma lost her mind towards the end of her life,
22:57and she wasn't the same anymore,
22:59so getting to hold on to our love of sewing together
23:02has been such, like, a blessing.
23:04But when I went back to Nova Scotia,
23:06where my nana's from,
23:07I've never met any of these people in my life,
23:08but they were acting like we'd been
23:09at family gatherings all the time,
23:11like they knew me.
23:12Yes.
23:12It was...
23:12Yes.
23:13An Acadian family party is a fucking party.
23:16Another big thing about being Acadian
23:18is that we have joie de vivre.
23:19It's what people always say when they meet us.
23:21We have joie de vivre.
23:22Like, we fucking love to have fun.
23:24Like, hello.
23:25I really want to, like, go and, like,
23:28experience more of, like, even, like, where you're from
23:31and just, like, where my family's from.
23:33Seeing Sammy here and, like, I see my, like, nana
23:36and my, like, family and her
23:37just feel so much more connected to that.
23:39It's just been so, like, really nice.
23:43Girl, how are you planning on showing your uniqueness?
23:47I kind of want to just walk down the runway
23:49and serve, like, black excellence.
23:52She deserves to be here.
23:54She's not, like, I'm not just here because I'm black.
23:56Like, I'm not a token.
23:56You know what I mean?
23:57Yes.
23:57And I want to show that.
23:59Being a black queen, you want the sisterhood.
24:03And because drag is also so competitive
24:05and also because drag does tokenize a lot,
24:10there's just, like, this sense of, like, fighting
24:11for those opportunities to be, like, the token black girl.
24:14How is that, like, growing up in the East Coast?
24:17The East Coast is very white.
24:18And I feel like where there was black kids,
24:20it was very much like, oh, you're not black
24:22or, like, you're not black enough.
24:24And I feel like my blackness was kind of stripped away.
24:26Everything was fine around my family,
24:28but, like, being one of the only black kids in my school
24:31and, like, all my friends being predominantly white,
24:34it's more so just, like, the way you're raised,
24:35like, what you're around.
24:36Yeah.
24:36It's like people would say, like,
24:37you don't speak like you're black.
24:38And it's like, well, what do black people speak like?
24:40What about I mean?
24:41I also grew up around that same group of people
24:45that were constantly telling me I wasn't black enough.
24:50And so I'm like, okay, so then what is the,
24:52what's the rule book?
24:53Exactly.
24:54It's crazy because it's, like,
24:57girl, you're black because you're black.
24:58And there's no right way to be something
24:59aside from, like, being yourself.
25:02Who put that thought there in the first place
25:05of what is and what's not black enough?
25:07It's such a nasty, deeply rooted self-hate and racism
25:13because when you don't see black people
25:16act like these caricatures, you're like, what?
25:20You're not, you're not black.
25:22What the fuck?
25:23And it's so nasty because it's, it was this,
25:27it's such an intentional plan
25:29to help break down any sense of community.
25:33It's like, girl, we're two black queens.
25:36And I think it's sickening
25:37because we both have very different perspectives on things.
25:40But that's the important part.
25:41Yeah.
25:42People don't think about intersectionality a lot.
25:45There's so many ways that people were raised,
25:47things that we were learned
25:48and so much that we're exposed to.
25:49We're all exposed to different culture.
25:51And the black experience is not one size fits all.
25:54I think we are bonded and have similar experiences,
25:59especially when it comes to racism and oppression.
26:01But when it comes to personality and identity,
26:03that's all different.
26:04You don't put that into a category.
26:07I love your sister.
26:08I love you.
26:09I'm so glad that Caramoc is here.
26:11And I see her so clearly.
26:13I'm just, I'm just so happy.
26:15I'm so happy.
26:20All right, top five.
26:22How are we feeling today?
26:23I definitely did something different
26:24than my other two looks,
26:25so I'm, like, excited to show the judge something different,
26:27but also excited to never change the sewing machine ever again.
26:30Girl, same.
26:31How do y'all feel about your looks?
26:33I feel good, just very, like, deja vu from last week.
26:37I'm quite happy with what I did.
26:39This is my challenge.
26:40Girl, redemption.
26:41If you win the sewing challenge, I will.
26:42Hello!
26:44Girl, where have you been?
26:47For the first time,
26:48I'm entering elimination day
26:49without worry about going home.
26:52Well, you escaped another design challenge,
26:54which, like, probably is your biggest fear.
26:56Which we sewed again.
26:57I didn't have to do it three times?
26:59Yeah, you missed a lot of emotions.
27:01Okay.
27:02So what did you get up to?
27:03Did you sleep?
27:04I got a little bit of sleep.
27:05But you've been going through it, like, every week,
27:07and I feel like to get that first spot,
27:09this is so big for you.
27:11So, like, also, like, a performance challenge
27:13from, like, the lip sync slayoffs,
27:14like, redeem that.
27:15Yeah, that was the most important thing for me,
27:17is, like, the slayoffs felt so different
27:19than yesterday's challenge.
27:21Yes, yes.
27:22Because you're competing against somebody.
27:24Yesterday, it felt like the first time
27:25that I went out there by myself
27:27and just vibed with the judges
27:29and did a performance.
27:31I love to dance so much.
27:33For some reason, when I perform,
27:35everything goes out of my head
27:37except the moment and the fun I'm having.
27:39My mom and I shared this commonality of dance.
27:42From my earliest childhood memories,
27:45it was times in the studio,
27:46and then I just danced,
27:49and it made my mom happy.
27:50So I just kept doing it,
27:52and it really made me happy, too.
27:53I haven't really told you all,
27:56but, um, yeah,
27:59this is the 10th year anniversary
28:01of my mom's passing, too.
28:04And I've just been, um,
28:05dealing with a lot of regret here
28:08and missing her a lot.
28:11What do you regret?
28:12Well, everything.
28:14My mom was, like, one of my best friends.
28:17Uh, yeah, I really feel
28:19that I didn't use my time enough with her,
28:22which sucks.
28:23Oh, sorry.
28:25Damn it.
28:29I didn't come out to her.
28:30I didn't let her into my partner and I's life,
28:34and just being here and, like, being so happy here,
28:37I just really wish...
28:38Want to share it with her.
28:39I feel, like, really close to her being here,
28:41and it's been a lot to deal with on my own,
28:44a lot of it.
28:45Each time I, like, walk off the stage,
28:47I, like, think of how proud she'd be of me,
28:49and, like, yeah, I feel like she missed out on a lot.
28:53Not all parents have to, like,
28:55be the biggest cheerleaders, but my mom was.
28:59And later on in life, I found out that she knew I was queer,
29:02but she never pushed me to come out.
29:04She was waiting for me to do it myself,
29:07and I just never did it.
29:09But she knew.
29:10I understand, like, how it feels, like...
29:14Yeah.
29:14It's so weird.
29:15I didn't have the best relationship with my dad,
29:17but, like, now that he's gone,
29:19I wish that, like, opened myself up more to him
29:23and let him see.
29:23I'm really relating to PM in this moment.
29:25My dad passed before I was really able to show them
29:28who Ebony was and who Jules was, you know?
29:30And he passed when I was in high school.
29:322018, I came out to him,
29:34and this is when I was, like, gay at the time.
29:36I remember he would, like...
29:37He, like, looked at me and was like,
29:39I won't believe you until you're 18.
29:40So come back and tell me when you're 18,
29:42because then, you know, I'm an adult,
29:45and that was, like, always a goal.
29:46Like, I always wanted to kind of, like,
29:47give him that I-told-you-so moment.
29:49It's like you're missing something
29:50that you'll never have.
29:51Yeah.
29:52It's hard when there's so much, like, hurt there,
29:55but there was love there.
29:56So I'm trying to hold on to that and remember it.
30:01I'm just proud.
30:02I think we should all be, like, really, really proud.
30:04I'm so proud of us.
30:05We are in the top five.
30:06A sickening top five.
30:08A sickening top five.
30:09Come on, uniqueness.
30:11Oh, my God, guys, they've been warning us
30:12this whole season.
30:13That's literally a runway song.
30:13No, I'm telling you!
30:14I was saying this yesterday.
30:16What did they say?
30:17The runway song is charisma, uniqueness,
30:19and talent.
30:19Uniqueness.
30:20C-U-N-T, they've been warning us all season
30:22with that runway song, which is crazy,
30:25and, bitch, little did we see it coming.
30:26Well, every season's about that.
30:28Like, you know, I always knew,
30:30I always knew, bitch.
30:31Girl, I always knew.
30:32I'm Summer Laundry.
30:33I always knew.
30:34Girl, bye.
30:38Girl, bye.
30:53Come on, girl.
30:54Put the bass in your lock.
30:56Head to toe.
30:58Let your whole box hit your...
30:59Muggy!
31:02There's Muggy in here!
31:02Welcome to the main stage of Canada's drag race.
31:06Class is in session, and we're grading on a curve.
31:09It's teacher's pet Tracy Melshor.
31:11Meow, Brooklyn!
31:13When it comes to serving mother,
31:14she wrote the textbook.
31:16It's Zerane Fox.
31:17Mother knows best.
31:18And it's Broadway star and triple threat, Alison Russell.
31:22Oh, it's not a threat, Brooke.
31:23It's a promise.
31:25This week, it's a fight for the finale.
31:28Up next, our remaining queens turn a little black dress
31:31into a big showstopper.
31:33Racers, start your engines.
31:35And may the best drag queen win!
31:37Charisma, uniqueness.
31:41Category is...
31:43Uniqueness.
31:45First up, Ebony LaBelle.
31:48Oh!
31:49That's the black dress?
31:51I'm wearing this sexy little hoochie mama shake-a-ass delicious dress.
31:54Ooh, honey, and I'm stomping it on the runway.
31:57So delightful and sparkly and ooh and jazzy and a lot of assy.
32:00On the next episode of Dawson's Cheek...
32:02The original dress was not Ebony LaBelle,
32:05but this dress, oh, it's Ebony motherfucking LaBelle.
32:08It is giving fully realized, conceptual uniqueness, perfection.
32:15If you've got it, flaunt it!
32:18Sammy Landry.
32:19This dress is giving you high fashion fantasy
32:23with a little twist of what's going on over there.
32:26It's a lovely leopard print gown,
32:29and there's rosebud buttholes all over it.
32:33I feel like this is some real couture shit right now.
32:37It's giving Sahara Jessica Parker.
32:40I know that the judges are saying,
32:42is that Giselle Bouncian?
32:43No, no, no, no, no.
32:44It's Sammy Landry.
32:46Next, Caramel.
32:47The fantasy is black regalness.
32:50A queen that has earned her stripes.
32:53I incorporated the original dress by using it as a trim.
32:56I'm walking as low as I want.
32:58I'm taking my time.
32:59I'm commanding the stage.
33:00I want to show the judges that the little girl
33:02at the start of the season has grown all the way up,
33:05and I'm feeling powerful.
33:07I'm feeling unapologetically black.
33:09Very elegant.
33:10Very...
33:11She golden.
33:13Girl.
33:13Girl.
33:14Girl.
33:14And finally, Van Gogh.
33:19Whoa.
33:20I completely transformed the dress.
33:22I took the whole thing apart, used it for patterns.
33:25I took the black material and created a new legging to elongate the body,
33:29and then I made this structural jacket dress.
33:32It's a little McGlare, a little punk.
33:34It's giving Vivian Westwood goes north to the highlands.
33:38Inspired.
33:39Ah.
33:39I feel like I manage a rock band, I have power, and I'm not afraid to use this.
33:44I feel like I definitely would be firing someone.
33:46I'm firing the other three designers because they can't sew.
33:48Save Melinda!
33:50Save.
33:53Welcome, our designing women.
33:55First up, Ebony LaBelle.
33:57Now tell me about your look,
33:58and how did you transform your dress into this?
34:00So I took the skirt, and I used it as this skirt as a base.
34:05I sewed the whole top with some of the fabric that the dress was made out of,
34:09and then I bedazzled and bling, bling.
34:11Yeah, but I did sew!
34:13I love the transformation of this dress.
34:14This is something so quintessentially you
34:16that I could absolutely see you wearing out.
34:19I love the classic burlesque elements with little ruffles.
34:22I love the asymmetry, the sparkle, the shine.
34:25It's cheeky but classy at the same time somehow.
34:28I can see that the dress is still there,
34:30but I feel like the construction could have been tweaked a little bit tighter.
34:34The challenge was to take this black dress and make it uniquely you,
34:38and you can see that in the way that you walked out
34:40because you felt like you.
34:42You're not just a glue gun girl!
34:43I am not!
34:45Girl, I feel so powerful, like,
34:46and you hit the button so it goes back to finish it.
34:48I was like, okay, work.
34:49Yeah, just watch your nails.
34:50Keep your nails out.
34:51Now, who taught you that?
34:54Next up, Sammy Landry.
34:56Hi.
34:57Hi, tell us about your dress.
34:58So I saw the little dress, and then I was like, you know what?
35:02I'm just going to cut her up.
35:03So I cut the whole thing into strips, and that's where these bows come from.
35:07So this is all the remnants of that dress.
35:09I really get your drag, and I love how much you know who that is and what she wears.
35:15It's giving me J-Lo and her iconic Versace number at the Grammys, but the brief was to transform the dress.
35:24All you did was use little pieces of the fabric from it to accentuate a completely new dress.
35:30But you look good, gal.
35:34Next up, Van Goss.
35:35Tell us about your look and how you incorporated the little black dress into it.
35:39So I used it to create these pattern pieces on the jacket dress moment, and then added in the plaid to kind of round it out.
35:46And then I took the little black dress material to create more of a legging.
35:49So it kind of has elements of a little black dress, but a little black legging pant moment.
35:53Well, as per usual, you took a big bite out of a design challenge.
35:57Can't help it.
35:58I love the silhouette.
35:59I love that I can still actually see elements of it in there.
36:02I love that it's so you as well.
36:03It's very your taste, your drag.
36:05It fits you beautifully.
36:07I'm in awe of the craftsmanship, the tailoring.
36:11And I have a Scottish grandma, which is not immediately apparent, so I'm a sucker for plaid.
36:15Just fantastic.
36:18Next up, Caramel.
36:19Tell us about your look and how you incorporated the little black dress into it.
36:23So this week, Ebony and I had a powerful conversation about our blackness.
36:27So this look was kind of a love letter to that.
36:29Obviously, I don't design.
36:30Last week, I did really well, so I didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
36:33So I kind of went in that same structure.
36:34And everywhere you kind of see, like, the flower trim, I put the black dress as the trim.
36:39And then the flowers over top here and on the train as well and on the do-rag.
36:44You look gorgeous, stunning.
36:45And I can so empathize with everything that you just said about being black and black identity.
36:51But the assignment is uniqueness.
36:54And when you came out, I was struck by how it looked like the look that you designed for Brooke,
36:59which, by definition, doesn't make it unique.
37:02You can't actually see any of the black dress on your outfit because it's covered by something else.
37:06You do look beautiful in this.
37:08It's a great silhouette on you.
37:09I love this color palette on you.
37:10It's rich.
37:11It's gorgeous.
37:12But unfortunately, it misses the mark when it comes to the challenge.
37:14I think that your black experience is uniquely you, and none of us are going to touch that.
37:20That's your gold.
37:22Yeah.
37:23The dress is not unique.
37:25But, girl, you definitely are.
37:29There's a majesty to this look.
37:30There's a regalness.
37:31And there's also an iconography to it that reminds me that all of humanity is one family.
37:37And our mother, if we trace her back far enough, came from Africa, all of us.
37:42And I love the braids, the wrap with the gold.
37:46I just love it.
37:50Queens, we have made our decision.
37:54Van Gogh, you are the winner of the uniqueness round.
37:58Yeah, bitch!
38:02I can't believe I won another design challenge, and I'm finally going to the top four.
38:07Oh, my God, I can't believe it.
38:08And, girl, I'm the designer of the season, clearly.
38:11You have claimed the second spot in the season six grand finale.
38:15Girl, clock it.
38:18Now get the fuck off stage.
38:20Girl, don't tell me twice.
38:21They left.
38:22They left.
38:23Three queens and two spots remain.
38:26It's time for your next test.
38:27And it do take nerve.
38:31One at a time, each of you will take center stage and deliver a dramatic monologue.
38:37For your life!
38:41Who has the nerve to deliver under pressure?
38:44The queen who owns the moment will earn their spot in the top four, leaving two of you on the edge of elimination.
38:53No pressure, darlings.
38:54You may all leave the stage.
39:05Girl, I love this dress.
39:07The vibe in Untucked is a little weird.
39:11We have PM and Van who have earned their spot in the top four, and we have three people who are desperate and exhausted trying to get their spot in the top four.
39:20How are you feeling?
39:21Honestly, really good.
39:23Like, I really love this dress.
39:25I think it's so good.
39:26And I, like, I totally understand the critiques.
39:28Even when I was doing it, I was like, I don't think this is the challenge.
39:31But I ended up with this great dress, lovely gowns, lovely gowns.
39:34It's very Sammy.
39:35It's very me.
39:36I feel like I really did the best that I could do.
39:39And I know that in this challenge, it's all about keep knocking on the doors.
39:43Because at one point, one of them will open.
39:46I'm really happy about, like, the critiques and how they saw the look.
39:48And I feel like the look represented something a little different for me.
39:51But I understand that I didn't complete the assignment.
39:54But I feel like the next challenge is something that's up my alley.
39:57I'm happy that it's more of a dramatic side opposed to comedy.
39:59I grew up doing acting.
40:02I wanted to be an actor before I was a dancer.
40:03And I trained for that.
40:04I feel like it's really, like, that's what I do.
40:06And that's who I am.
40:07I feel good about going into this challenge.
40:09I audition all the time doing monologues.
40:11But again, now there's only three of us.
40:14The stakes are even higher.
40:15So it's like, you have to fight hard.
40:17This is not the time to falter.
40:18If any moment ever that you needed to be at your A-game, it's right fucking now.
40:23I need to win this round because the chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.
40:26And you can literally see that top four spot slipping away.
40:30I've never felt more confident about a challenge coming up than right now.
40:34Or for real, for real.
40:36Like, I need to be in that top four.
40:39This is mine to win.
40:41I do not want to go into that last round.
40:43I know that Karamuk has acting experience as well as me.
40:47But Ebony's a wild card.
40:49I'm just going to tap into that vulnerable side and show the judges.
40:53I think they've seen a lot of me.
40:55And they know who I am.
40:56And they know my fun.
40:57And they know my light.
40:58And they know my bright.
40:59And I just want them to see, like, all of the pain and the challenge that I've had to work and go through as a fucking black trans woman to get here and fight so hard.
41:11And I'm going to shut them.
41:16I got a lot of feelings right now.
41:18I got a lot of frustration, anger, hurt, sadness, and pain that is bottling up.
41:27And it needs to come out.
41:28And what better way to do that than this damn monologue?
41:31I love you, but I'm going to really step into my competitive bag and just fucking crush it.
41:38That's what I got to do.
41:40I'm, like, motivated right now.
41:41The engine is heating up.
41:42It's, like, the calm right before the storm.
41:46I got a mission that needs to be accomplished.
41:48As we're about to get ready to just battle it out to claim our own spots, I just want to say, like, fucking bring nerve.
41:57Let's bring some fucking nerve to this.
42:01Places, everyone.
42:03Curtains up.
42:04I know the material.
42:05This is what I do.
42:07This is my bread and butter.
42:08This monologue, I feel, really speaks to me.
42:10So I'm honestly treating it as every line, every paragraph.
42:15There's a story being told to the judges.
42:18For this dramatic monologue, I'm going into it really, really different.
42:21I'm taking all of everything I know and I'm throwing it away.
42:25Because I need it to be real and authentic.
42:28And I need it to be from my heart.
42:32Above everything, right now, I want the judges to see the person behind the clown.
42:39I am stripped bare and I'm not moving.
42:42This is vulnerability at its greatest.
42:46Everything changed the day I got the call.
42:52It's the call that every drag artist dreams of.
42:56It's the call every drag artist dreams of.
42:59The one that makes it all worth it.
43:03The one that makes it all worth it.
43:07Becking for stage time.
43:09Gigs that no one wanted to take.
43:11I took.
43:12Gigs that no one else wanted to take.
43:15I took.
43:16I took.
43:18All for another chance to get on that tiny stage.
43:21Dancing for tips.
43:22Dancing for tips.
43:25Dancing for tips.
43:26They don't see that.
43:29They think it's all fun and games.
43:33They think it's all fun and games.
43:37Fuck that.
43:38This is work.
43:41Real work.
43:42Real work.
43:44Hard work.
43:45Real work.
43:47Hard work.
43:48It hurts.
43:50And it hurts.
43:53Drag hurts.
43:55My body, it aches and it groans and it cracks and it aches again.
44:00It cracks and it groans and it aches again.
44:03And it's, it's worth it.
44:08It's, it's worth it.
44:11For those moments of magic on stage.
44:15Every ripped pair of tights.
44:17Every nasty comment online.
44:20Every nasty comment online.
44:22Every goddamn drunk at the goddamn bar.
44:25I don't care.
44:26I don't care.
44:26I'm a fighter.
44:28I fought to get here.
44:30I fought to get here.
44:32To stay here.
44:34And I fought to get here.
44:35To stay here.
44:37And now I'm waiting for this moment.
44:41My job is not done.
44:43My job is not done.
44:46It all comes down to this.
44:49It all comes down to you.
44:53To see me.
44:55I have to say, bravo, bravo to all three of you.
45:14You all did such a beautiful job.
45:16Caramel.
45:17I loved the stillness and the rawness in yours.
45:20I loved how you stripped everything away and you just stood and delivered.
45:23I thought it was really, really powerful and beautiful.
45:26When you can just stand and deliver, it reached me.
45:30And I cried.
45:31It brought tears for me.
45:33For the first time, I really thought about how drag is not just art.
45:36You're also athletes.
45:38And when you talked about the pain, what it does to your body, the wear and the tear,
45:42I felt that.
45:44It was extraordinary.
45:46Sammy Landry, I loved the emotional journey that you took us on.
45:51You gave us a different side of you tonight.
45:53It is so amazing to see this soft, almost gentle, vulnerable side of you.
46:01Still gave us a little something.
46:02And I loved that.
46:04I love that we still saw the Sammy that we know.
46:08Ebony Lavelle, there is so much heart in this delivery.
46:12Yours was so real and so raw.
46:15It didn't feel like a monologue.
46:16It felt like someone actually speaking these words for real.
46:19You did something when you first walked out.
46:21Well, you chose to peer out for just a moment before you reached your mark up here.
46:27From that moment that you made eye contact, I was locked in.
46:31I believed you instantly from the way you walked out from where you chose to look.
46:35The way it felt like you were discovering the words that you didn't know what you were going to say next.
46:40When you turned to us and said, it all comes down to you, I felt it.
46:44And it was just those little things that can really make a difference.
46:48Queens, we have made our decision.
46:54Ebony Lavelle, you've got some nerve.
46:59And it's taking you straight to the finale.
47:02Oh, my God.
47:04I am so freaking happy.
47:07Oh, my God.
47:08That monologue, it's like I needed to say it.
47:10PM, Van Gogh, Ebony Lavelle, gondragulations.
47:16As the first three finalists, you are the winners of this week's maxi challenge.
47:21You have each won $2,500 courtesy of The Well, restaurants and bars.
47:27What the fuck?
47:29Yay, money.
47:30Caramel, Sammy Landry, for you, it will all come down to talent.
47:39Let's do this, bitch.
47:41Got you.
47:42This is the most important lip sync I'm going to do in this competition because it is the way, the alleyway into the top four.
47:47I want that top four spot.
47:49I need to be there.
47:50I know now that I'm going to have to lip sync for my life against one of the lip sync assassins of the season.
47:57I need to show the judges I'm still Sammy, and this is my moment to have fun and to fight.
48:03In the final showdown, you must slay to win in a lip sync for your life.
48:09Two queens, one last shot.
48:13Everything is on the line.
48:14So step up and show us why you deserve to make it to the finale.
48:20Two queens stand before us.
48:25Prior to tonight, you were asked to prepare a lip sync performance of Fix You by Vita Chambers.
48:32This is your last chance to impress us and save yourself from elimination.
48:38The time has come for you to lip sync for the finale.
48:44Good luck, and don't fuck it up.
48:51And if we go right now, we can leave this town, we break.
48:59And if we go right now, we can leave this town, escape.
49:06Don't know how it's gonna end, how far you gonna bend.
49:10I'm never gonna walk away.
49:13God, I wish you'd let me in.
49:15I'll forgive the noise and stop pushing while you're pushing away.
49:19I can't stop how I'm feeling.
49:24It's like I need you.
49:27And if you let me, I can fix you.
49:34I can't stop how I'm feeling.
49:38It's like I need you.
49:42And if you let me, I can fix you.
49:48I can't stop how I'm feeling.
49:59I can't stop hope.
50:00I can't stop how I'm feeling.
50:05I can't stop how I'm feeling.
