3.7 magnitude earthquake reported in Malibu

Did you feel it? A 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck Malibu Friday night.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was reported around 11:44 p.m. with a recorded depth of 15.3 km in the northwest area of Malibu.

This comes as the area is battling mud and debris flow from a heavy storm that dumped several inches of rain in Southern California. The area is also still less than a month removed from the devastating Palisades Fire that ravaged Malibu and the Pacific Palisades.

Friday night's earthquake was followed up by another one in the same area on Saturday morning. That 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck around 6:30 a.m., about seven miles northwest of Malibu.

Reports indicate that the Saturday morning quake was felt as far north as Santa Clarita, and as far south as Long Beach.

There have not been any injuries reported for either earthquake.
