Scrolled over my recipes / food uploads for a personal project I'm doing
I realised I didn't upload my Brownies from October 2022 with a recipe attached, so here it is
Might delete the old Brownies post later
Recipe (makes 16 slices, yes I know three are missing I ate them DON'T LOOK AT ME /// )
100g Cocoa Powder
200g Butter
400g Sugar (Caster, Light/Dark Brown is what I generally use)
4 Eggs, beaten
1tsp Vanilla Extract (or other)
90g Plain Flour, sifted
1tsp Baking Powder
200g Chocolate Chips (or chopped chocolate)
1. Preheat your oven to 150*C and line a 20cm x 30cm baking tin with parchment.
2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over a low heat. While it melts, sift the cocoa
into a large bowl and stir in the sugar until well mixed.
3. Add the melted butter and mix fully. Then slowly add the beaten egg and essence and combine.
4. Sift the flour and baking powder together and fold in. Be careful not to overbeat the mixture.
Then add the chocolate.
5. Once everything is mixed and consistent, pour it into your prepared tin and bake for one hour.
The brownies should be springy to touch. Remove and leave it to cool before cutting and serving.
Note - This recipe is fairly versatile with what you can add to it. One time I added a tablespoon of instant coffee, another time I replaced the vanilla essence with almond essence, another time I threw in some chopped fudge in place of half of the chocolate chips.
From Chris: Remember kids, the more chocolate you put into this, the better it is. Cook for a shorter time if you are looking for a 'fudgy' version, and a longer time if you are looking for a 'cakey' version.
