A young male bear was in my stepmother's neighborhood May 7 2025. Had been in her yard raiding the bird feeder then jumped the fence and was checking out some of the neighbors homes. AZ Fish and Game sedated it and moved it to another location. Photo taken by a friend of my stepmom from her yard.

He was probably close to 150 to 200 pounds body weigh. https://enviroliteracy.org/what-doe.....ear-look-like/ Getting to the almost 2 year mark. His mom would be getting ready to breed again and didn't need him in the way of an adult male bear.
They try to take them with the darts. Sometimes well they have to do the other. Couple of years ago we had a bear attack in the area almost 2 years ago. Made the National and International news

Eeyup...
We rarely have them ON our properties, but there's always sightings of them throughout our community (We all let each other know, to raise/maintain awareness). The very few who've been 'Nuisance bears' don't get a free pass/relocation to another area, but we DO notify the Dept. of Fish and Game/State Warden so they can lodge the report, and if they request it, we leave the head attached to the skin (We dispose of the rest of the body) for them to retrieve/check for rabies.
It's fun to watch 'Nature,' IN 'Nature,' but I/we're no fans of such Apex critters traipsing onto our yards! Hey, we've not only got our livestock/gardens/pets, but many folks have families, and that includes children. This last comment just to assuage anyone who got their jimmies rustled over how 'We' deal with 'em.
Still, lovely ursine! I wish him a good long, healthy, and SAFE life!

I've had one in my yard last fall, tore up the garbage can so badly I had to get a replacement - one of those plastic wheel bins. I ended up buying a game camera and set it up in the yard. Been getting some interesting night images. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60601947/ Good sized Bobcat with a record book tail. Normally the tails are a little nub but they can get up to 6 to 8 inches. The flagstone the cat is on is about 2.5 foot long. It has been hunting my yard for a while. It leaves things behind, even a rat's ass - rear section of a Kangaroo Rat.
