So I once again Accidentally'd a thing into existence over the course of 5 hours.
A Huge help is the 3D model made by
Tyco of Crouton's updated form. Still WIP right now and lacking in features so its not ready to release (But just finished enough for me to toy with, eheh), so until then enjoy Crouton flattening some Lord's castle because they stole too much money from the locals, and the gold concentration attracted the mighty Tarrasque... THough looks like he ate a previous castle on the way to this one.

Providing it had the right measures, fixed fortifications could fend one off!
Perhaps this owner's standing army knew the threat was coming and they fled to avoid injury, or the court wizard was done with the Castle Owner's shit, and peaced out as soon as Crouton was sighted on the horizon.
Perhaps Crouton is known for being incredibly stubburn, if you have gold and he wants it, keeping him from getting in takes many hours of repeated conjouration before he gets bored, falls asleep so you can smuggle and distribute/diseminate the gold, etc
