Steps to Change the Document Language in Google Docs

If you need to change the language for a specific document, Google Docs allows you to do this easily within the document itself. Follow these steps to update the language settings for individual documents.

Step 1: Open Your Google Doc

Open Google Docs in a web browser and choose the document or create a new document.

Step 2: Go to the File Tab, Click on Language, and Choose the Language

Navigate to the menu and click on "File," then select the "Language" option. Next, scroll through the options and pick your preferred language.

Step 3: Apply some additional changes from the Input tool icon

If you have selected a non-Latin language then you’ll find the Input Tools icon present on the toolbar which allows some additional tools for your chosen language.

Now you can type in the language which you have chosen.

Note: This changes the interface language for your entire Google Account (Docs, Drive, Gmail, etc.), not the typing or document language.

Step 1: Open Your Google Drive

Open Google Drive in your web browser.
