Resolving comments in Google Docs helps keep shared documents organized during collaboration. Once feedback is addressed, resolving comments clears clutter and keeps the document clean.

Steps to Resolve Comments in Google Docs

Resolving comments on Google Docs is easy and quick. When you resolve a comment, it is marked as addressed and removed from the document interface but can still be viewed in the comment history.

Step 1: Open the Document

Log into your Google account and open the shared document that contains the comments.

  • Navigate to docs.google.com.
  • Open the document where comments are present.

Step 2: Locate the Comment

Find the comment that you want to address.

  • Look for yellow-highlighted text or the comment bubble in the margin of the document.
  • Click on the comment to expand it and view the feedback or query.

Step 3: Resolve the Comment

Once you’ve addressed the feedback, you can mark the comment as resolved.

  • Click the Resolve icon in the comment box
  • The comment will disappear from the document view.
  • It remains accessible in the Comment History for future reference.

Step 4: View Resolved Comments (Optional)

You can access resolved comments to review previous feedback.

  • Click on the Comment icon (speech bubble with three dots) in the top-right corner of the document.
  • Scroll through the history to view resolved comments.

Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • Use Ctrl + Alt + M (Windows) or Cmd + Option + M (Mac) to quickly add a comment.
  • Navigate through comments using the Next and Previous options in the comment history.
