Microsoft Word’s WordArt and Text Effects are powerful tools for creating visually striking text to enhance the appearance of documents like flyers, invitations, or presentations.
WordArt and Text Effects
WordArt
WordArt is a feature in Microsoft Word that transforms text into stylized, decorative graphics with predefined designs, including curved, arched, or colorful text. It’s ideal for headings, titles, or other text that needs to stand out.
Key Features:
- Offers a gallery of pre-designed styles with gradients, shadows, or 3D effects.
- Customizable with colors, fonts, and shapes.
- Treated as an object, allowing flexible positioning and text wrapping.
Example: Create a bold, arched title for a newsletter using WordArt.
Text Effects
Text Effects are formatting options applied to regular text to add visual enhancements like shadows, glows, reflections, or 3D rotations. Unlike WordArt, Text Effects are applied directly to selected text without converting it into an object.
Key Features:
- Includes effects like Shadow, Reflection, Glow, Bevel, and 3-D Rotation.
- Applied to text in paragraphs, headings, or text boxes without altering text editability.
- Highly customizable for precise control over appearance.
Example: Add a subtle shadow to a heading to make it pop in a report.
