Astrea Hill is the setting where three exclusive all-girl schools converge. At St. Miator Girl’s Academy, gentle breezes scatter cherry blossoms across its lush campus. Nagisa, a normal and cheerful high school student, is stunned when she meets Shizuma, the school’s top student, whose beauty takes her breath away. When Shizuma unexpectedly reciprocates Nagisa’s feelings, both love and wacky chaos soon erupt.

Re-read 2021: Yep, I am back again re-reading this one! It is just the cutest manga, though I do feel some pacing would have made it even better. Now it often felt a bit rushed and hurried (for instance it makes it feel like one timeline, just hurried, but in the meantime we see Chiyo reminsence about Nagisa letting a butterfly go fly again. I am still not sure how I feel about Tamao, she is a bit too much for me. I get that you like the girl but no need to be so creepy about it. In a way, Shizuma is the same, but still different as well. I loved seeing the various schools and loved their outfits though Miator is still my favourite. The art was just so good and I love it. I will be reading the next volume soon, and I am definitely planning on the anime again. :)
------------------------------ Read this manga 5 years ago, and I thought now was the time to re-read them. I still love this manga (and also the anime), the couples are lovely. I am sad though that the manga never got further than 2. :\
2018-7-27: Another re-read! I had lots of fun reading this one. I should really re-watch the anime again.
Similar to "Yuri is my job", the concept is a catholic/christian setting with only girls, who are calling each other "sisters" and that's somehow an intimate way of saying you're together, basically. I don't really know what's up with that combination for yuri stories... I don't mind the religious part, but the incest-kinda-stuff is a bit concerning?
I'm just confused on the world setting, though. It seemed at first that they're normal teenagers, who like to experiment out together. However, there's a competition in July, which is really important and everyone takes it serious and it's all about giving the school a good reputation... but it's so gay. Is it in a world where everyone is gay and it's normal too for christians? Like an AU? Or are the teachers simply completely oblivious to the fact, how gay this competition is? Because they literally are called couple, have to win together, there are no boys, they will get the status of a Prince & Princess afterwards and serve as idols for everyone else. I need a bit of more world-building.
Also, there's a lot of sexual assault going on...
It ended on a cliffhanger though, and only has 2 volumes anyway, so I might as well finish it.
I've never been into yuri. Never. There are times I'm into yaoi pairing (usually those that aren't meant to be yaoi but have a huge chance of being so like Ozbert from Pandora Hearts) but not yuri.
Still, there were some yuri manga and anime that I've read/watched either because the plot was interesting or there some other factor that strangely drew me in, like funny characters or a mysterious... well, mystery.
But Strawberry Panic was totally focused on the yuriness. The jokes were so not funny (were they even jokes?), the drama was cliché and not in a good way, and the characters themselves were boring. Save for the art, Strawberry Panic has nothing going for it. This is really only for those who like yuri manga. If you don't like it very much, read something else. This was a waste of time.
artwork karakter cewek distrawberry panic ini sungguh cantik & mempesona.apalagi semuanya rata2 berambut panjang & dibuat berwarna-warni.lucu & gemes dibuatnya. dan yang ndak kalah penting girls behaviour yang dipaparkan disini menambah minat kamu para readers untuk memilikinya.
This was pretty disappointing. I really liked the anime series, so I was looking forward to getting another perspective of the story. One of my main issues with the anime was that only evil characters are shown expressing affection physically, but this manga goes way too far in the other direction; there's totally a scene in which a girl gropes her friend even though she is clearly uncomfortable. It's sapphic affection for the purpose of cheesecake and seemingly for the consumption of a straight audience. Also, Shizuma has been changed into a much more predatory character, whereas in the anime she was merely aloof and heartbroken. In this, she has been trying to replace her lost love with other underclassmen and leaving them as soon as she gets bored. This version of the character is much more cruel.

Nostalgia blinded me… Alas, my present tastes do not align with this.
I enjoyed this series originally for it’s multiple romance and dramas, yet I am starting to realise the premise makes me a tad uncomfortable (heavy emphasis on the “sisterhood” aspect in the Etoille contest and the growing importance of age differences in the relationship dynamics). I find it a bit “cringe” (?)
I do however find this series entertaining still. I would reread/rewatch this perhaps as a guilty pleasure (This is by no means an insult to anyone who genuinely enjoys this series. Please feel free to enjoy it! These are simply my thoughts on it).
I only finished this volume because I wanted to finish a manga that day - otherwise I would have DNF'd. And, honestly, I wish I just had.
Apart from the creepy sexualization of teen girls, this manga is still a mess. The plot is very rushed and everything is over the top to the point that it's unserious in every scene. Except it's not even funny.
I don't like the art style but that's just me not liking shoujo art from that era.
The manga and anime are incredible I love all of the characters and the plot, some big questionable things that they do, but I love yuri anime and manga, so this was normal. Should definitely read, big-time exciting parts.
i.. i think i finished it? i don't have a physical copy of the book and reading it on my phone, not knowing when a new book starts makes it rather difficult to know. can certainly say, the show is a lot better
3 stars. I like the artwork and the plot while a bit convoluted is interesting. None of the characters stand out though. Not one. I think it’s because there are too many of them and none have personalities that made them interesting. Hopefully volume two fleshes them out more.
The Strawberry Panic manga series is quite a nice read to kill some time.
To be honest, there are some issues with the manga that I have not encountered in the light novel or anime. The author never specifies the timeline, setting, or characters... Moreover, the pacing was a bit weird too. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it because of my previous attachment to and knowledge of the series. Some panels are very pretty, especially those with romantic couples in them!
In conclusion, this volume is a decent start to the Strawberry Panic manga series.
This review is based on the previously released single volume books; however, it has been re-released in omnibus format as one volume.
This was kind of weird for me to read. I don’t know if that’s bad to say, and I totally have no problem with any kind of relationship. But, weirdly enough, I’ve never read a yuri manga before. I barely see them in stores (and only recently have I even heard of very many being released over here), and I just prefer shojo over yuri (over most kinds, really). It’s just not a preference of mine.
I picked this up by coincidence, as it was in a local book store near me. I’d heard of it, of course, but never really thought about picking it up.
It's about Aoi, who transfers to a new school, where Hanazono is a very popular, wanted girl, and who very quickly gets interested in Aoi.
Hanazono seems very dominant, almost like a male character would be in a similarly straight manga, but she also seems a little manipulative. Aoi is pretty oblivious to all the undertones, though. We were also introduced to several other characters, some who like Hanazono, some with budding romances of their own.
I don’t know if I’ll be picking up another volume of this series. It just didn’t really keep my attention enough. I might pick up one of the newer yuri series, though. Some of them look interesting, and I’ve heard some good things. It’s just not one of my preferences for books, though.
I can relate to Nagisa in some sort of way because I too have been new to many schools. It's tough because you don't know anyone there and you don't know what to expect from your teachers and class mates. I think that for Nagisa it was a bit over the top because the first person she met was Shizuma the Etoile. Shizuma has recently been heart broken because her love Kaori has passed away. Now that Shizuma sees Nagisa for the first time it seems to her that her beloved Kaori has come back from the dead and tries to kiss Nagisa. In my point of view, I would really be surprised and scared if the first person I met tried to kiss me because for one thing I don't know who they actually are. Don't you think?

Well, it's basically yuri fanservice? Though not particularly explicit. I just mean fanservice in the sense that its for people who like seeing cute and innocent lesbian anime girls do cute and innocent lesbian anime things. You know, lots of blushing, staring longingly at fellow attractive anime girls, maybe some comments about their ample chests or lack thereof, all those cliches.
Side note: if you've seen the anime and was rooting for Tamao, well, her character is completely different in this one, and not for the better...
Also, for some actually good yuri, try Aoi Hana or Maria-sama ga Miteru.
I honestly hope this is not a sign I will despise yuri. After reading so many good reviews about it... this was bad. The art style is, yes, beautiful. The girls are pretty. The story... MEH. Nagisa... MEH, so silly, wind-head and annoying as hell. I've been reading this since a month ago, or more. I could only read a chapter per week. It was that bad. The story does not make much sense, there are a lot of characters, and of course, every girl is in love with other girl.
I will not give up, though. I have other yuri manga in my TBR shelf.
Not generally something that would be on the top of my list to read but I was greatly surprised! I absolutely loved the storyline and all of the characters. I would read this series again in a minute, it was that good!
I really enjoyed this manga, the artwork is so beautiful and the story very cute. As a fan of Yuri and Shoujo ai I knew I would like this manga due to it's genre. This is not an explicit manga but filled with fluffy romance and cute crushes.
Just a little too much girl drama for me. It really felt like I was in a boarding school and it also felt really young (especially given the content). I liked most of the artwork and don't have anything negative to say about it- it just wasn't for me.
No me gustó. Nagisa actua como Bella Swan. Todo es puro fanservice (para hombre) eso que yo amo el yuri. No siento que exista una chispa en la parejas, y realmente el manga me pareció malo y patético. Es un manga con todos los estereotipos molestos del yuri.
Of course with there being so many different versions of the manga, i have the onimbus version. It was beautifully drawn and the story is mostly centered around Nagisa x Shizuma but it does focus on the other girls too which I liked.

The beginning of this series isn't phenomenal, but I liked it, partly because it was yuri - women x women romance - which isn't portrayed very often, and because it has an interesting story with over-the-top plotlines.
Adorable, and despite the rating not particularly explicit, but really not the sort of yuri where the reader can think, "Oh, she just looks up to her sempai and wants to grow up to be like her".
This manga is amazing! Nagisa and Shizuma's interactions are just sooo irresitably sweet and cute. Hikari is my favorite character...she is sooo shy! =)
