Cassandra, or Cassie, as everyone calls her is trying to get her big break into the journalism world. She wants an exclusive interview with the famous Max Anderson. But, the man refuses to return her calls. She isn’t willing to give up, but fate steps in and helps her out.
She’s out taking a walk one afternoon, when everything goes dark. She wakes up in the hospital to find out that she’s been hit by a car by none other than Max Anderson. He offers to pay her off, but there’s only one thing she wants from Max, and that’s to get her exclusive interview.
Max agrees to Cassie’s interview, but only because she intrigues him. He wants to spend time with her to find out why he can’t get her out of his mind, day or night.

I made the mistake of misjudging this book by the title and almost didn’t read it. I’m so glad I decided to read it, because it was one of the sweetest romance books I’ve read in awhile. Cassie had wanted an interview from Max in hopes of landing her dream job. She had been leaving messages for him to call her for weeks. Max was against interviews, and never bothered calling her back. Well… Max accidently hit Cassie with his car. When Cassie woke up in the hospital she was shocked to say the least to finally meet Max. She blackmailed him into a month long interview. During that time they fought, was snowed in while in Alaska, and they found at the end that they couldn’t imagine living without the other. It did take time for both to figure that out. Cassie kept her walls up guarding her heart for most of the book. It was heartwarming when they both realized how much they loved each other. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!
Some of my favorite lines from the book in random order:
{Words from Max} He wanted her, yes, but it was so much more than that. He didn’t want to wake another single moment without her by his side. He wanted their nights to be filled with passion and their days to be filled with romance, challenges, and love.
{Words from Cassie} I love you so much that when you walk out that door, I don’t know how I’ll breathe again. I don’t know how or when it happened, but I started picturing every moment with you. I dreamed about carrying your child. I love you so much that I don’t know how to face tomorrow, much less the many years of loneliness loving your entails, she said on a sob
Thank god the pattern is gone! I swore on the 4th book that if this one had the same pattern I would stop reading the rest of the series!
The story's quite okay. I usually just read through the conversation. I wasn't really in the mood to read not-so-important scenes. The story's pretty light and it's not exciting, Should have thrown an ex-lover to add a few problems here and there.
OK... This, I think is the last book in this series... I'm happy it ended with a GREAT book... best one in the series yet!!!
Wowza... what a way to get a man... let him run you over with his car!!! Totally threw me for a loop on that.., never thought of a car accident to bring two people together...
Max is so crass and course... it always amazes me how these heroines somehow manage to chisel away at that rock hard exterior and reveal the loving man underneath... with Max, Cassie better get chiseling cause that exterior is super thick!!! I love that all Cassie had to do was be herself in order to gain his trust and love... that's how it should be.. even though he couldn't admit it nor could she... it was heartwarming to see it going on.
This line ripped my heart out and made me sob like a baby... "I love you so much that when you walk out that door, I don't know how I'll breathe again. I don't know how or when it happened, but I started picturing every moment with you."
Glad to see family from the previous four books all involved in this book... it's one of the reasons this is my favorite book in this series!! God do those Anderson's make me laugh!!! Great story line carried out in the best possible way!!!
I love these books so much. I've been hooked on many romance series in the last 4 months since being given my Kindle . These books have been my favorites. I can't believe how hooked I became after Book #1. I'm a big sap so I love romance novels. The first book warmed my heart with such a strong male character and each book that has followed has provided the same. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. I'm anxiously waiting the next book!!! :)
I Didn't like the heroine Cassie. I just couldn't get into this particular storyline. I love Joseph and George Anderson and there matchmaking schemes. But this storyline didn't work for me.
Listen to the Audible version and I really didn't care for the new narrator. She just was not as good as Lilly Swan the narrator of the previous Anderson Billionaire series. I wonder why they changed narrators?
Me ha parecido entretenida la historia de Max y Cassie. Y sucede de una forma un poco distinta a las otras historias de esta serie, lo que la hace más entretenida.
Y me ha encantado ese final tan de película en casa de Cassie.
This was my favorite book of all the series. Max and Cassie are together by Fate and not the father and uncle's doing. I believe fate was trying to put them together with Cassie trying to interview Max. Max hate interviews and would have nothing to do with her so Fate stepped in and put them in each others lives. Cassie and Max try to hold their ground with the other but end up pissing the other off. Cassie and Max fall in love because they keep the other in check while also valuing the same things. After the month together, Cassie tries to be professional and end things amicably because with his playboy persona and no definition of their relationship she does not see him settling down with her. She is not a love 'em leave 'em person and she desires forever but in her mind if she keep seeing him it would hurt so much more when it broke. This book felt the most real to me because they were both afraid of the other not loving them. The resolution was great because instead of letting it go Blake decides he wants to fight for what they had. My favorite lines from the book are Cassie's confession of love. The book ended nicely I can't wait for Kinsey and Austin though I hope he confesses his feelings first because every book the female has to tell the male character they love them first. It would be nice to see Austin chasing Kinsey for a future but her not trusting herself and his love but is only a guess since the book has not been published or announced yet.
I love music and when I hear songs that fit the book I have to tell. Lee Brice "Don't Believe Everything You Think" fits the book well.
I've read all of the books by author Melody Anne and so far I think this is my favorite book about the Andersons. I adore the love and romance between Cassie and Max. Cassie blackmailing Max into an interview was definitely a unique idea. Max has just the right amount of alpha-ness to him to make him very sexy while Cassie is beautiful for being so down to earth. She learns through her interview that this Anderson bachelor isn't like her preconceived ideas of the mysterious Max who stays out of the public eye. I wouldn't have minded getting trapped in a cabin in Alaska with Max the same way Cassie did! This is definitely a steamy, sexy, romance, by Melody Anne. I can't wait to read the next one!
Blackmailing the billionaire- “She narrowed her eyes as she glared at the magazine picture of him she had in her locker as motivation. If he thought she was some whimpering girl who so easily took ‘no’ for an answer, he certainly had another thing coming.” “She was truly one in a million.” “Our minds tend to retreat, to protect us, when something traumatic happens.” “This was a new voice, an incredibly deep, masculine voice, which seemed to purr. She was becoming more motivated to open her eyes, curious to see if the face matched the voice. She felt her head shake slightly as she tried to clear out the cobwebs” “I’ve had many women fall at my feet, but never jump out in front of my moving vehicle,” “He had to be at least six foot three, maybe four. His hair was dark, shining in the pale room, and expertly cut, not too short, nor too long. There was an endearing cowlick that caused his otherwise perfect hairstyle to seem a bit ruffled.” “He was disturbingly attractive in a way that would easily make women throw themselves at him, or possibly his moving vehicle. She knew she wouldn’t have done it on purpose, though” “If she had to come up with one word to describe him, it would be, delicious.” “He came up to her bed, his midnight blue eyes connecting with her own startled blue ones. His lips turned up in a lazy smile, as if he could see into her mind and knew exactly what she was thinking. It must be nice to be so confident, she thought.” “She was the most stubborn, frustrating, irritating woman he’d ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. She didn’t want to admit her pain, though it was obvious she was ready to pass out.” “She turned her head, expectantly. She was a bit upset with herself that she was hoping it was Max. She didn’t need to start wishing for him to come see her” “The way he spoke sent tingles through her body. No wonder women swooned at his feet. He was certainly swoon-worthy. She wished he would just go away. She wasn’t at her best. His voice was like warm honey, and his shining blue eyes seemed to see straight into her soul. She could feel the heat infuse her cheeks. The dang monitor was beeping faster, the longer he stared at her - and his lips turned up at the sound. He knew his effect on her and he was thoroughly enjoying himself.” “She had never felt as powerful as she did in that moment. It was quite euphoric, she decided.” “He looked deeply into her eyes - she knew to see if he could intimidate her. Suddenly, his mouth flashed up in what looked like a genuine smile. She looked at him in stunned silence. She didn’t understand why he’d be smiling when she’d so obviously won. She was beginning to worry she may not have really won anything after all.” “He’d been completely against it at first, but the more she spoke, the more he realized he wanted to spend time with her. She was stirring something in him, and he needed some time with her to figure out exactly what that was.” “Max’s lips came down on hers in an intoxicating kiss. She pushed against him for a moment, and then forgot every reason why she shouldn’t be kissing the mysterious Max Anderson, and allowed him to seduce her. His lips went from almost punishing, to soft and seductive, in a matter of seconds, and she felt a pressure unlike anything she’d ever felt before start to build in her stomach. His tongue slowly caressed her bottom lip, demanding entrance into the soft folds of her mouth. A shudder rippled through her as her mouth slowly opened. He discovered every hidden recess of her mouth as his tongue tangled with hers. Her hands glided up his neck, holding him close, afraid of him pulling away. He didn’t seem to have any desire to break their contact, though.” “He thought about the kiss a few moments ago and couldn’t keep the smile from his face. He could get used to waking up like that each morning. He wasn’t a saint and had been with many beautiful women, but he never spent the night with them. Once his needs were met he had no desire to cuddle and tell each other their life story. He’d never actually woken up with a woman, and found it wasn’t an unpleasant experience. Cassie McIntyre had him intrigued.” “He was right behind her and had his head bent forward so the words were whispered right behind her ear, his hot breath lightly running across her bare skin. She couldn’t stop the shudder that trembled through her. He was really good at causing her body to go haywire.” “Don’t look so smug, Cassie, the day is young” “She knew he wouldn’t hurt her, but the man caused unspeakable things to happen in her body with just a glance, or a slight breath on her skin. She couldn’t imagine what he could do if he put in a hundred percent effort” “She was actually exhilarated by his temper. It was much better to see some real emotion flashing in him, other than the persona he seemed determined to show her. He wasn’t giving an inch for her to have an interesting article. She was learning she had to drag everything from him and was considering different torture methods to achieve her goal” “The amount of passion he exhibited in his everyday life had to make him a fantastic lover. She couldn’t imagine he did anything in half measures” “The more bland and unaffected she reacted, the more irritated she’d make him.” “The longer he was around her the more he wanted to know her every secret. He’d never been so fascinated with any woman and he didn’t like the power she seemed to hold over him. He knew she desired him as much as he wanted her.” “His smile only grew wider, his dimple clearly showing in his perfectly chiseled cheeks. He could make both young and old fall at his feet. When he didn’t get his way the first time, he simply changed direction and made sure to win another way. She was ready to spill her guts, though there wasn’t much to say. She knew she needed to be on higher guard or it wouldn’t take him any time to know every secret she’d ever wanted to keep hidden.” “Cassie knew she wouldn’t need to go to the gym after having lunch with Amy. Her stomach hurt from laughing for so long.” “She didn’t dare look in the mirror. She was sure the sight would frighten her worse than if she saw a ghost.” “She’d spent so much time looking at the man over the last few weeks, she had everything about him memorized. The way his voice was like satin, sliding against her skin, causing quivers through her. How his incredibly bright eyes could mesmerize her, making her stomach tighten in need. She didn’t even want to think about the way his lean and muscular body caused her sleepless nights” “She devoured him with her eyes. Before she could turn away, his head swung around, catching her appraising look. His lips turned up in a knowing smile and he slowly made his way toward her. Even the man’s walk was sexy, his thighs flexing under the tight material. She was almost in a trance.” “He reached his hand up, slowing brushing a piece of her hair from her face, taking his time, tucking it behind her ear as he’d done before. His fingers traced the back of her ear in a whisper soft movement, causing goose bumps to instantly appear on her skin. His eyes were locked to hers and she forgot how to move. His smile slowly grew bigger and she wanted nothing more than for him to lean the scant few inches separating them and connect his lips to hers.” “Please don’t come near me, she silently begged. If he wrapped his incredible arms around her, she’d be lost” “He was sexy all the time, but when he really tried, he was devastating.” “She’d never done something so simple as to prepare a meal with the opposite sex. Max was humming a song she didn’t recognize, and the scents were drifting around them. She found she liked the sensation of cooking with someone else. She had to remind herself this was strictly business, not a date, before she got too comfortable in her little fantasy.” “Why couldn’t she just be like Darcy Undermost, back in high school, who would jump any guy that asked? She was thinking that at least the girl got some pleasure, even if everyone called her a slut.” “He knew she was interviewing him, and technically for this trip he was her boss, but he couldn’t seem to think anymore when she was around. He never had office affairs, never slept with an employee, but this was a special case and he was losing the battle to resist her.” “He found he enjoyed her company, he liked how she wasn’t afraid to stand up to him. Most of all, he liked that she wasn’t pulling out all the stops to seduce him. As a matter of fact, she was doing just the opposite, hiding her body beneath the unflattering pajamas, not wearing make-up, or even trying to appear sexy.” “ She’d be disappointed to know none of it was working. She looked far sexier to him in her flannels than she would’ve looked in lingerie. She just had a natural sex appeal that wouldn’t stop calling to him, and in the remote cabin he had no desire to fight it. He felt the tightening in his pants, and turned from her.” “She could taste the sweet wine on his lips mixed with his own intoxicating scent. She didn’t even try to fight the kiss she wanted so desperately. She melted into him, bringing her hands up around his strong shoulders, clinging to him.” “She couldn’t turn away as the firelight reflected off his naked chest, even more defined than she could’ve ever imagined. Her dreams had nothing on the reality of the man.” “She rubbed up and down his back, loving his weight pushing her into the cushions. She loved the feel of his chest brushing her still sensitive breasts, and how his skin glistened with a slight sheen of sweat. She loved just about everything about the man who just gave her such intense pleasure.” “She’d never before begged for anything in her life, but she couldn’t seem to stop begging.” “She knew the situation was anything but funny, but there was nothing they could do about it, so why not just let go and laugh? It could be worse.” “I’m not a robot. I do have feelings, but I’m just careful who I let in” “She knew it was the chicken’s way out, but she couldn’t help herself. He made her feel things, he made her want what she shouldn’t want.” “For some reason, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. It felt like more than just desire, but he couldn’t think that way. He decided he was going to have her, all of her, not just a piece. He’d figure the rest out later, but for the time being she couldn’t escape him, and when he put his full effort into something, he got what he wanted.” “With just a look, the man could make her give him anything he ever wanted. How could he hold so much power over her? It was a bit frustrating, when she’d always guarded herself so well.” “It would be so easy to get lost in his embrace. She couldn’t remember why it was such a bad idea for them to make love again, but she knew, somewhere in the back of her mind, that she had to stop him. She’d figure out why later.” “Max bent down and picked her up, thinking he could get used to carrying her around. He loved the feel of her in his arms. He was beginning to think he wasn’t going to let her go. Never had he thought of happily ever after with one woman, but the more time he spent with Cassie, the more the thought appealed to him. He couldn’t imagine letting her go.” “I think you’re going to be the death of me, woman” “Cassie glanced at the crowd, and as if they were physically connected, she immediately found Max.” “He wasn’t willing to put an emotion to how he felt about her, but the time they’d spent together had been better than anything he could remember. He’d never enjoyed being with a woman like he’d enjoyed their every moment. He found himself anxious to see her. He loved how she looked lying in his bed, her chest softly rising and falling as she slept, with the morning light streaming through the window, caressing her features. She was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, but there was so much more to her than just beauty. She had a way of drawing people toward her. She was full of life and laughter, and she made him feel unbelievable. He could make love to her night and day, but beyond that he could lie next to her for hours just listening to the sound of her voice.” “She ran until her lungs burned, until her sides ached. She ran, liking the feeling of physical pain in her body. She needed more, to take away the aching in her heart. She ran for several miles, her feet aching, her body a mess. She didn’t care, she didn’t care about anything at that moment.” “Kinsey dressed in designer jeans and a bright pink sweater. Only she could get away with such bold colors. Kinsey was stunning with her long, dark hair, and brown eyes, so dark, they almost looked black. She’d always been stunning, but never used her looks to her advantage. She was comfortable with herself, and portrayed confidence to the world. It was just one more thing Cassie loved about her.” “Are you ready to take the world by storm?” “They continued looking at each other, his eyes filled with frustration and anger, hers filled with desire, fear, and uncertainty. The desire had his body hardening, and his hands clenching. He was close to saying the hell with it, and pulling her tight against him. He knew it was what they both wanted.” “Cassie’s insides turned to lava as she looked into his smoldering eyes.” “She knew that look in his eyes, it was hunger, pure and simple.” “She wanted so much more from him. She wanted his hands all over her, his lips caressing her overheated skin. She wanted his love. She wanted all of him. The thoughts made her want to break down and cry. She assured herself she’d do that as soon as he left.” “He loved her spunk, her fire. He loved that she was unafraid to challenge him. He loved her and he decided he wasn’t leaving until she admitted she loved him. There was no way she could’ve faked the look in her eyes when they were making love. She may have a wall up, but no different than the one he’d had up until she cleverly ripped it down.” “She had her chin up, her eyes shooting sparks, and her body tense. She was gorgeous and he wouldn’t let her go. He needed her in his life. She’d always keep him humble. The thought made him smile, which caused her to glare. Oh, he felt alive. He could feel the arousal rushing through his body. It took every ounce of control he’d ever owned in his life to not close those few inches and capture her lips. He knew her anger would be turned to passion in seconds, and they could both be satisfied. Soon, he promised himself. He wanted her, yes, but it was so much more than that. He didn’t want to wake another single moment without her by his side. He wanted their nights to be filled with passion and their days to be filled with romance, challenges, and love. He wanted a happily ever after.” “I love you, Max. Is that what you need to hear? Do you need to know you’re the most amazing lover in the universe? Well, it’s true. I love you so much that when you walk out that door, I don’t know how I’ll breathe again. I don’t know how or when it happened, but I started picturing every moment with you. I have dreamed about carrying your child. I love you so much that I don’t know how to face tomorrow, much less the many years of loneliness loving you entails” “I love you, too, Cassie. I don’t know when it happened, either, but I can’t stop thinking about you. The thought of waking up, even one more morning, without you is unbearable. I’m stubborn, irritating, bossy, and an ass a lot of the time, but I’m hoping you’ll overlook all that and say you will never leave me again” “I want you to be my wife. I want to give you those children you’ve been dreaming about. I want a miniature Cassie running around the house, tugging on my heartstrings. I want every single night to end with you wrapped up tightly against my body. Put me out of my misery and tell me yes. I know it’s not romantic and I should at least be down on one knee, but I don’t want to let you go. Please, marry me, and make me the happiest man alive” “There was no doubt she’d be his. Her heart filled once again as she got everything she could have ever hoped for. What fools they both had been. She hated to even think of the many tears she’d shed, when all it would have taken was a few spoken words, and she could’ve been in his arms so much sooner.” “Yes, a million times over, yes.” “I love you, Cassie McIntyre. More than I ever thought possible.” “I love you, Max Anderson, and I will show you every day of our lives how much.” “Cassie fell asleep with a smile still on her face, no longer afraid to dream of her future.”
A blackmail that went wrong and love was the outcome!
Cassie has been trying to get an interview with Max forever. She was an inspiring reporter and needed to write the story that would launch her career. Max was definitely a confirmed bachelor who protected his privacy. A costly mistake on his part, he accidentally hit Cassie when she was walking. He had her placed at a private hospital and when he tried to settle and take care of her, she wanted her interview rather than the money. She was to shadow him for a month, but in that month they were stranded in a cabin in Alaska and acted on their attraction to each other. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far and looking forward to reading the next book.
This is book 5 in the Billionaire Bachelors series........ Cassie has been trying for months to gain an interview with Max Anderson to help her get a job with a newspaper having finshed Uni at top of her class in Journalism....... Max has been ignoring Cassie's calls hoping she'll take a hint...... He runs into Cassie one day (with his car) and she is in a coma for 8 days....... when she wakes up she realises she can get her interview finally (with a little blackmail), so is she winning what she wants or is she playing into Max's hands???? Notice this match doesn't involve Max's father George ir Uncle Joseph :-)
George Anderson's son Max is in for a surprise, even George doesn't seem to be involved in this match making. Max travels a lot for the Anderson Corporation, especially to Alaska. He is a playboy and likes being away from his family. He is also avoiding reporters wanting to get the dirt on their family. Cassandra is chasing Max for an exclusive interview. She thinks this will open doors for her in her journalism career. Fate steps in when Max hits Cassie with his car. She blackmails him to let her shadow him for a month and she won't sue the family. Max is drawn to Cassie and she knows his reputation. I really enjoyed this story.
I liked this story but the heroine could have even more backbone even though she’s the best so fare at not taking everything from the hero who can seriously be arrogant. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings Good dialogues Sizzling chemistry that builds up to love. Meddling family is the best.
I enjoyed this one as it not set up by Joseph & George, this is about George's son Max
He like all the others are resistant to marriage but it seems the bigger they are the harder they fall & he like his brother & cousins find a girl that he can't understand why he is attracted to & why he can't stop thinking about her
I've got to admit... even tho this book seemed a bit shorter, I still fell on love with Max and Cassie. This series just proves that love can happen and that we all have to be patient but when we find it, we have to fight for it.
3 Stars I purchased a copy of the Seattle set novel The Blackmail: The Andersons Book Five by Melody Anne and this review was given freely. A touch of irony, a fair amount of violence, extended intimate scenes, and a couple who finds love despite parental interference, and despite Max’s hurting budding journalist Cassie both mentally and physically. Cassie has one goal, to interview determined playboy and closet philanthropist Max Anderson to get a job with the Seattle Times. Unfortunately, to get the interview, she first has to become the victim of a car accident. 18+ for extended intimate scenes. Best if read in series order. 6. The Runaway 3 Stars I purchased a copy of the Seattle set novel The Runaway: The Andersons Book Six by Melody Anne and this review was given freely. Way too much violence. Contains some good foreshadowing indicating early on who the stalker is. Tension-filled with a couple who draws closer together despite tragedy, kidnapping, and a lot of violence. 28-year virgin Brianne Lynn Anderson tried to escape the confines of her overly protective, predominantly male family only to find herself under the protection of Cousin Mark’s friend, ex-Navy SEAL Chad. 18+ for extended intimate scenes and violence. 7. The Final Stand 3 Stars I purchased a copy of the Seattle set novel The Final Stand: The Andersons Book Seven by Melody Anne and this review was given freely. I had to know how the final Anderson child met his match, but I am tired of all the violence and tragedy. Contains unprofessional behavior. Then and Now novels are not my favorite, but this volume is different in that it contains Joseph, George, and Austin’s romances. The patriarchal brothers are gravely injured in a car accident which has Katherine reminiscing on her early days with Joseph while at the same time, Austin tries to build a relationship with nurse Kinsey as they have sex all over the hospital, and the children work to bring George and Esther’s romance out into the open. End with a nice update on all the couples in the series. 18+ for extended intimate scenes in multiple locations and violence.
Blackmailing the Billionaire: Billionaire Bachelors Book 5 is by Melody Anne. It is now Max’s turn to come under the attention of Joseph and George Anderson. They will now try to find someone to marry Max and trick him into falling in love with her. However, this will be harder as he suspects them and he travels a lot. In fact, he has to get to Alaska as soon as he can. Cassandra McIntyre has one goal in mind. She wants to work as a reporter for the Seattle Times; but she needs a spectacular article to get their attention. She is definitely tired of working as a barista. She has decided that an interview with Max Anderson of Anderson Corporation would be the article. Max is notorious for turning down and not doing interviews. She has tried several times to talk him into it when he comes to the coffee bar; but has had no luck and little time to talk. She has also called his office multiple times to talk to him. His secretary, Cindy, has taken her messages and turned them over to him. He wants nothing to do with her. Max was more comfortable with outdoor work than paperwork; but after he got to the office and went through his emails and mail, he set out to do some paperwork. After about an hour, he decided to go out for a run. He headed towards his favorite park in Seattle. As he turned a corner, he took his attention off the road and hit someone. Horrified, it was a girl and she was unconscious. He called for an ambulance. He was even more horrified when he realized the girl was Cassie McIntyre! Who worse to hit than a reporter? While she is unconscious, Max worried about what would happen when she regained consciousness. Would she sue? Even if she didn’t, the publicity would be harsh for him. He had to get her to cooperate, if she would only wake up!
I was disappointed with this book. It seems like the author created the character of Max but then didn't know what to write from his pov. This story mainly has Cassie's and when it does have Max's, there isn't much. Max accidentally hits Cassie with his car and feels guilty for it. Cassie tells Max what she wants instead of his money. He agress but with stipulations. When Cassie starts shadowing Max, he doesn't make things easy for her. When she keeps running into different members from his family, she finds out more about his personal life from them than what she does from him. Max is bugged that Cassie gets to follow him for an interview but is also bugged because of how he wants her. He starts to actually think that she set everything up. When she gets to accompany him on a business trip to Alaska, they are snowed in and that is when she gets to know the real Max. She also falls in love with him and is already feeling heartbroken. When their month comes to an end. Cassie is devasted to learn that she not able to publish the interview because of their intimate relationship. She is convinced that he knew that would happen and that is why he had no problem opening up to her near the end. Max can't understand why Cassie hasn't published the story and is at a loss for words when he finds out why it has not been published. He also realizes what he really wants is Cassie by his side forever, only now he just needs to make her believe that he is being real
I loved this book couldn't put it down. Joseph and George were happy that Trenton was married now their focus was on Max, but he Cassandra McIntyre wanted to be a reporter but she needed a great story to get the newspaper to notice her and Cassie knew the perfect subject. Cassie kept calling the office of Max Anderson to do an interview on him, but Max never did interviews. One day Max needed to leave his office so while driving he got distracted and heard a thump by his car. Cassie woke up and was confused why she was in the hospital, but then she heard a mans voice and when she turn Max was standing by the door. Instead of money Cassie wanted to get the interview with Max, but she wanted a month so Max reluctantly agreed. Max needed to go to Alaska for a meeting for a week so Cassie with the help from Amy bought warm clothes. The morning after arriving Max opened the door on their cabin and was shocked that they were snowed in. Max and Cassie were now stuck in the cabin with no way out, but at least they had food. One night after dinner and wine they couldn't keep their hands off each other. When they were back home Cassie wanted to keep her distance from Max because she was starting to fall for him and didn't want to get hurt when they went their seperate ways, but Max was also falling for her and wanted to be with her.
What did I like, well the way Cassie ended up getting to talk Max was unconventional and could have gone so wrong. The two of them both needed to learn to use their word during the courtship if you want to call it that. Enjoyed that several if not all of the Anderson clan were involved in this book. I crave book series where the characters continue to be in the stories so you get to see more of the love after a first book ends.
Thought it funny that Joseph and George couldn’t claim this matchmaking and the pack the three unmarried Anderson’s at the start of this book made to not succumb to marriage one has already fallen. What will happen in the next book.
I am enjoying this series. But this book is my favorite so far. I loved the strength that Max has and how determined he is in business and his personal life.
Cassie is a standout character. She is determined to get a job with the Seattle Times. She has been trying to get an interview with Max Anderson and failing. When he hits her with his car she sees an open door and jumps in.
This is a roller coaster romance that takes place over a month. There are so many ups and downs. But it was the sudden stops and twists that left me smiling.
I loved that this story had more than a dozen laugh out loud moments! Max has definitely meet his match with Cassey! She had been trying for so long to get an interview with Max Anderson for Wii long and he had been avoiding her calls. Then one day she has a terrible accident and the future appears brighter, but not so bright for the illusive billionaire. These two had you laughing and wanting to witness their next confrontation. I was only disappointed that there was not any interaction with his sister.
I love this series . I found this great writer through my Kindle Unlimited which allows me to try out many new authors( up to ten books at once ) and Ms. Anne was one of my great finds The book is about simple homespun love .No porn masquerading as romance . This book reminds me of an Old Time Romance . Sure there' is sex but not on every page and there' is always an emotional tie that develops first . It's not the jump in bed from page one because ' I'm in lust kind of book !
‘Blackmailing The Billionaire,’ was a good read. It he all the same ingredients as the previous novels... the arrogant and charming billionaire, the struggling and determined leading lady, and an incident that forces them to be around one another. Though the characters were well written, the storyline felt like a repeat of past novels. The interaction were brilliantly witty and the romance was incredibly passionate... overall it was good.
