About the author
Jacqueline Kelly
25 books536 followersJacqueline Kelly was born in New Zealand and moved with her parents to western Canada at an early age. She grew up in the dense rain forests of Vancouver Island, so you can imagine her shock some years later when her family moved to the desert of El Paso, Texas. She attended university in El Paso and medical school in Galveston (lovingly known as “Galvatraz” among the inmates). She practiced medicine for many years and then attended the University of Texas School of Law. She practiced law for several more years before realizing that what would really make her happy is to write fiction. Her first published short story appeared in 2001 in the Mississippi Review (one of her proudest accomplishments). Her debut novel, The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, was released by Henry Holt on May 12, 2009 (another one of her proudest accomplishments).

Es una historia distinta, pausada y que trata una gran variedad de temas de forma muy especial. Ha sido un libro que he disfrutado de principio a fin. Me ha encantado volver a encontrarme con Callie, seguir sus aventuras y travesuras, y disfrutar de una narración sencilla, inocente y simplemente brillante.

Oh, Calpurnia Virginia Tate! If you were my daughter, I would tell you that I admire your spunk and tenacity to stand up and fight for what is right. I would tell you that I love how you love your little brother, Travis, and how you try to protect and teach him about the way life is…sometimes with disastrous or hilarious outcomes. I would tell you how proud I am of your fight to learn, learn, learn and not to become a persnickety, swooning woman only interested in stitching and playing the piano and marrying a man of good breeding. I would tell you that, if it wasn’t the year 1900, you will grow up to be one of the great environmentalists and scientists who care about the health of our world, always thirsting for knowledge.
But, since you are a fictional character, I will tell girls in 4th, 5th & 6th grade out there to read your story, starting with The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate and then continue on to read The
Curious World of Calpurnia Tate. I would tell them to be aware that this story is about life in the early 1900s where farm animals are not pets and things happen in your story that aren’t pleasant. But I will tell them that if they persevere and not let those things bother them too much, that they will be rewarded with a fun read, sometimes hilarious, sometimes sad and that, at the end of the story, you will stand up and cheer for Calpurnia and all she has gone through and learned.
And then I would ask the author, Jacqueline Kelly, not to stop writing about Calpurnia Virginia Tate, please. I want to know what she grows up to be and how her life turns out. Your books remind me so much of Anne Shirley of Anne of Green Gables and I know there are millions of
readers who love her. We will love Calpurnia, too. So carry on, Ms. Kelly! Make us laugh, make us cry and surprise us with more stories of Calpurnia.

El curioso mundo de Calpurnia Tate es la secuela de La evolución de Calpurnia Tate, una novela maravillosa que trata temas tan importantes como el derecho universal a la educación, los derechos de las mujeres y las inquietudes intelectuales de una joven nacidad en pleno cambio de siglo a finales del diecinueve. Una secuela bastante a la altura de su primera novela y que gustará tanto como la misma.
Sin duda Calpurnia es de esas protagonistas que rompen roles y que marcan tendencia. Es una protagonista que defiende los derechos de las mujeres en el siglo diecinueve y que muestra a lxs lectorxs jóvenes la realidad de una época que nos precede y que nos sigue marcando. Es una protagonista valiente, decidida y que Jacqueline Kelly dota de todas las armas necesarias para defender una postura en su época. Es una protagonista con una voz única y muy bien construida. Mientras que en otras novelas es difícil hacer creíble a una niña de 12 años con las inquietudes de Calpurnia, aquí la protagonista es totalmente real y cercana, audaz e inteligente. Una mujer que quiere, y debería poder, destacar en su época, aunque realmente le sea imposible.
El curioso mundo de Calpurnia Tate es un complemento de la primera novela. De alguna manera quedaban cosas por contar, aventuras de Calpurnia, y en esta segunda novela muchas de esas cosas que quedaron por contar se cuentan. La vida de Calpurnia va cambiando y va conseguiendo alcanzar sus metas y nosotras la acompañaremos en ese viaje.
La trama de esta secuela es tan bonita y clara como en el primera novela. Veremos a Calpurnia crecer y enseñarnos sus inquietudes intelectuales de nuevo. Además llegarán nuevos personajes que irán amenizando la historia de esta niña y de su pasión por la ciencia.
Calpurnia es de esas novelas educativas que nunca me cansaré de recomendar. Es una novela que enseña muchísimas cosas y que intenta despertar el gusto por la ciencia en las más jóvenes. Es una novela cargada de valores, de enseñanzas y de realidades. Me gusta muchísimo porque creo que defiende la educación universal y el derecho de las mujeres a acceder a esa educación.
Es una novela reivindicativa, que muestra la realidad de las mujeres jóvenes del siglo diecinueve y que Calpurnia, desde la inocencia, defiende su derecho a estudiar y ser científica. Y eso me ha encantado.
El curioso mundo de Calpurnia Tate es una secuela muy a la altura del primer libro, con el mismo ritmo lento y las mismas buenas e increíbles descripciones. Jacqueline Kelly se mantiene en su estilo y en su línea y nos vuelve a enamorar con la inocente, inteligente y valiente Calpurnia.

This book is the sequel to the book The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate was a book I absolutely adored so I was incredibly excited to hear that a sequel was coming out. However, I didn’t enjoy this book quite as much as the first one...it just didn’t have much of a point to it.
Travis, Calpurnia’s younger brother, keeps bringing home strays. Whether it’s stray rabbits, stray armadillos, or stray half coyote pups Callie is having a heck of a time hiding all the animals from her mother. When a horrible hurricane takes out Galveston Texas things change for Callie’s family. They end up taking in one of Callie’s older female cousins and a new veterinarian comes into town introducing Callie to a new career that she’s very interested in.
I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as the first one because it didn't have anything to really drive the plot forward. It was still an engaging read; very nostalgic and provides an interesting look into the life of a young girl trying to make her way in science in a time when women didn’t really do that.
I love reading about Callie and her family. However for the first half of the book things are very wandering and pretty much just detail day to day life of this family. There is absolutely nothing to drive the plot forward (there really isn’t a plot). Things get more interesting when the hurricane goes through Galveston; there is some intersting history in this part and it shakes things up for Callie’s family quite a bit.
The veterinarian doesn’t even come into the story until the second half of the book and Callie doesn’t get involved working with him until the last quarter or so. There is a rather compelling scene where Callie finally puts her foot down and lets it be known that she has plans for a career in science, but her family still brushes her off and doesn’t take her seriously.
Although the book is well written and fairly engaging by the end of it I couldn’t really tell you what the point to the whole thing was. The first book Callie and her Grandpa here discovering a new species and trying to get it recognized. In this book Callie spends time learning about animals but the story is very defocused.
Overall I enjoyed the book but struggled a bit with the lack of any plot. I still enjoy reading about Callie and her family, however I wish the author had maybe focused on Callie’s want to become a scientist or focused on something that gave the book more cohesion. I still recommending reading this if you enjoyed The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate and I still think everyone should read The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate...however this second book wasn’t as impressive.

"Gosh," I said, poring over the pages.
"Calpurnia, I know you are capable of expressing yourself without resorting to popular exclamations. The use of slang betrays a weak imagination and a lazy mind." (PG. 50)
I loved this quote right away and what it says about society through the generations. Now I will use this on my own children. (haha!)
I really enjoyed this sequel to "The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate" and found the debut to be more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong. This was a wonderful book also but Evolution was just better.
This is 1900s Texas and Calpurnia has found her true calling. A vet. She knows she is a girl and can't really be a career woman and no one holds back on telling her this side of life. Her mother is traditional and is mostly exasperated with her "tomboy" play and her dreams of going to college. No one is really on her side except her scientific grandfather but even he can't do much to change anyone's mind on the fairness of it all.
Through it all Callie is determined, and at the age of thirteen, she is no quitter. No one can hold her scientific dreams back. She is a resourceful and driven. I think little girls would enjoy Callie's character. I hope my daughter grows into a spunky and determined young lady.
Such an enjoyable and fun YA. I think adults would appreciate this as well. There is a bit of historical fiction thrown in. The Galveston flood of 1900 that killed thousands of people. I didn't know about this period in history so I learned along the way. It was and still remains the worst natural disaster in US history. (So I read but correct me if I am wrong)

Calpúrnia, ets genial! I ho ets perquè qui t'ha escrit també ho és, la nota d'agraïment ho desvetlla clarament. No us deixeu influenciar per la portada i la categoria de "juvenil", hi ha una gran feina de recerca darrere i una molt bona estructura narrativa. Això sí, si us plau, si no heu llegit la primera part de la Calpúrnia (l'evolució de la Calpúrnia Tate) feu-ho, es poden llegir per separat però podreu gaudir més i millor d'ella. Ja tardeu!

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly first came to my attention in 2009 when every single book industry person I knew systematically told me how charming and lovely a book it was (and is). I read the book and completely agreed with everything that I had heard. Calpurnia is a charming narrator, an adventurous, spirited 12-year-old girl who bursts forth from every page. Recently I acquired an ARC of the upcoming sequel, The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate, and read it this week. Like its predecessor it’s completely charming. And wonderful. And so much fun. And full of heart and depth. And did I mention wonderful?
Calpurnia has a fondness for the natural sciences, for pursuing knowledge in all of its simplest forms. Her grandfather has instilled in her a love of the many micro-worlds around her and she likes nothing more than surveying animals and weather and the stars and learning how everything works. To that end, Calpurnia acquires a pet newt named Sir Isaac Newton, helps her brother rescue a potentially dangerous armadillo (and a raccoon, and a half-breed coyote dog), and resists all of her mother’s attempts to civilize her. But Calpurnia is growing up and she encounters a number of injustices that befall her gender in 1900 Texas – unfair wages, second-guessing, underestimation, bigotry, and single-minded expectations. Why play piano and learn the domestic arts only to be married off when the entirety of nature can be observed under a microscope? How can sewing and knitting even compete with Calpurnia’s attention when there is data to be recorded?
Told in a series of vignettes each more enchanting than the last, The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate succeeds in matching its predecessor’s footsteps. It’s sweet and funny and soulful and heartfelt. It’s exactly the type of book that you open on a whim and finish four hours later beaming from ear to ear. I love these books. I love Calpurnia’s viable wit, her brimming point of view and her vivacious perspicacity. I would be happy if Kelly wrote ten more books from Calpurnia’s view-point. Seeing another year in her life is simply not enough. I want to see her grow into womanhood with all of her cheek and substance and merriment intact.
This is the series you buy your young, precocious girl who think’s she knows it all. This is your new Anne of Green Gables. If you are a fan of easy, fun historic fiction with a winning, passionate heroine, then Calpurnia is your girl.
I love these books. I can’t stress that enough. More Calpurnia, please!

Questo libro mette un'allegria e una voglia di vivere incredibili: Calpurnia 'Callie' Tate torna più forte che mai!!!
Pensavo sinceramente di trovare un'opera carina, scorrevole e nel complesso piacevole ma di certo non all'altezza dell'esordio di Jacqueline Kelly, che ho amato tantissimo: quanto mi sbagliavo! Piaciutissimo, ora sento anche un po' di vuoto e nostalgia :3
Calpurnia è un personaggio indimenticabile e sinceramente prototipo di eroina che mi piacerebbe incontrare un po' più spesso: determinata, leale, buona, coraggiosa ed estremamente intraprendente. Non riesce proprio a farsi accalappiare dalla madre che vorrebbe diventasse una perfetta signorina (il senso di tradimento di Calpurnia quando la mamma vuole comprarle i ferri per fare i guanti a Natale.. Impagabile!!) e vuole invece iscriversi all'università per studiare veterinaria: siamo nel 1900, l'educazione della donna è un miraggio lontano quanto l'elettricità in tutte le case.. Ma niente paura, Callie saprà farsi valere e ritagliarsi il suo angolino!
Anche gli altri personaggi meritano: Travis, fratellino di Calpurnia, ha in questo volume molto più spazio e con i suoi tentativi di salvare tutti gli animali e la voglia di addomesticarli non può che suscitare una gran tenerezza e tanto affetto!
Aggie, la 17enne cugina di Calpurnia, è un personaggio che ho faticato molto ad inquadrare ma che poi, alla fine, ho capito e dunque apprezzato (Non vi dico niente per non fare spoiler :D)
La parte naturalistica è super affascinante, l'amore di Calpurnia (e del nonno!) per le esplorazioni scientifiche, l'entusiasmo di fronte ad ogni nuova sfida e le incredibili esperienze che la nostra protagonista affronta rendono il lettore-spettatore orgoglioso di riflesso (sì, ho brillato anche io un po' quando Calpurnia fa le sue autopsie!) e desideroso di partire con un retino e andare a caccia di animali! :D Tra l'altro ad un certo punto Callie legge il libro di Darwin "Viaggio di un Naturalista intorno al mondo" (che è presente anche all'inizio di ogni capitolo con citazioni).. Sfido chiunque a non volerlo leggere dopo le parole entusiaste della protagonista!!

Pensavo sinceramente di trovare un'opera carina, scorrevole e nel complesso piacevole ma di certo non all'altezza dell'esordio di Jacqueline Kelly, che ho amato tantissimo: quanto mi sbagliavo! Piaciutissimo, ora sento anche un po' di vuoto e nostalgia :3
Calpurnia è un personaggio indimenticabile e sinceramente prototipo di eroina che mi piacerebbe incontrare un po' più spesso: determinata, leale, buona, coraggiosa ed estremamente intraprendente. Non riesce proprio a farsi accalappiare dalla madre che vorrebbe diventasse una perfetta signorina (il senso di tradimento di Calpurnia quando la mamma vuole comprarle i ferri per fare i guanti a Natale.. Impagabile!!) e vuole invece iscriversi all'università per studiare veterinaria: siamo nel 1900, l'educazione della donna è un miraggio lontano quanto l'elettricità in tutte le case.. Ma niente paura, Callie saprà farsi valere e ritagliarsi il suo angolino!
Anche gli altri personaggi meritano: Travis, fratellino di Calpurnia, ha in questo volume molto più spazio e con i suoi tentativi di salvare tutti gli animali e la voglia di addomesticarli non può che suscitare una gran tenerezza e tanto affetto!
Aggie, la 17enne cugina di Calpurnia, è un personaggio che ho faticato molto ad inquadrare ma che poi, alla fine, ho capito e dunque apprezzato (Non vi dico niente per non fare spoiler :D)

Rejoice, another story about a young girl, Calpurnia, who is growing up in Texas with six brothers and no sisters at the turn-of the-century (1900)! What I like about this book is that you do not need to have read the first book to be able to understand this one. It is nice to see a series that can be recommended to kids without the books needing to be read in order.
Each chapter is about an event that happens to Calpurnia a during her 13th year. Even more interesting than the parts about Calpurnia are the parts about supporting characters Tate, her closest in age younger brother who spends the book searching for the "perfect" pet and Aggie Finch, her cousin who comes to stay with the family after the Galveston hurricane of September 1900 and who like Calpurnia has a few of her own ideas about how young ladies growing up at the turn of the century should be treated. Ideas that may bode well for Calpurnia in the future. Here's hoping that this series continues!

No me ha resultado tan completo como el anterior, no hay una historia que se desarrolle como tal. En esta segunda parte simplemente te cuenta como Calpurnia sigue viviendo ahora intentando convertirse en una científica a tiempo completo. Un punto a su favor es que se centra en la relación de Calpurnia y su hermano pequeño Travis.
Me gusta mucho el trasfondo feminista de los libros de Calpurnia, los hace aún más bonitos de lo que ya son.

Read for Librarian Book Group
I was a great fan of Kelly's first book, The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. I wasn't alone, it won a ton of awards including a Newbery honor. Which, I guess, means that this book came to pass, even as mediocre as it was. I couldn't find a plot thread to save my life, the entire book seemed to be episodic and rambling. Kelley also kept dropping broad hints as that other things would come to pass in a very "Duh, duh DUMMMMMM!!!!" way that set my teeth on edge, especially when this undermined the things that did come to pass, making them seem not quite the earth shattering events they were promised to be. I would suggest a re-read of the first book rather than spending time with this one.

What a wonderful book! If you haven't already read the first in this (apparently) series, please do yourself a favor and read both of them.
Though it takes place at the turn of the twentieth century, the issues are relevant today. Add to that that the characterizations are delightful and the storytelling style wry and imaginative, and you have a recipe for many delightful hours immersed in Calpuria's struggles and triumphs.
I predict these books will long be regarded as classics of American literature.

Я очень старалась растянуть книжку, но она все равно закончилась. Не слишком похожа на первую часть, меньше про науку, но больше про животных - и крошку енота, и койпса, и милую выдру, и даже про то, как манипулировать людьми с помощью тритона. Прочла, что следующие части уже планируются, и жажду дальше читать про Кэлпурнию!

Con una narración amena e inteligente, nos demuestran una vez más cómo una chica con curiosidades, inquietudes y llena de activismo y humanidad, observará a su abuelo (esto me recuerda a Heidi) y se dará cuenta de que ella no está hecha para ser la mujer que todos esperan por 'aclamación social'.
Ahora es el momento de que los jóvenes se consciencien y ojalá muy pronto los adultos les den oportunidades... sin restricciones ni nepotismos.
Por un futuro mejor en todos los sentidos.
Mucha fuerza y salud.

I only have two gripes, the injustice about their father only giving Callie 5$ instead of 10 and her mother never knowing about it was never resolved 😔 and there should really be more books about Calpurnia's trials and tribulations in a world where girls are only half citizens.

Buonsera miei cari #FeniLettori, scrivo di getto questa recensione. Ho appena terminato il libro "Il mondo curioso di Calpurnia".
La lettura è tutt'altro che noiosa è qualcosa di unico e originale; Calpurnia è una bambina perfetta, con un’intelligenza sopra la media, purtroppo però si trova in un’epoca sbagliata, alla fine dell'ottocento inizi novecento e l'unico scopo di una donna a quei tempi era sposarsi, accudire la famiglia e avere dei bambini. Tutti la vedono così, anche i suoi genitori ma un’eccezione alla regola c’è …ed è il nonno.
Lei è Calpurnia Virginia Tate, una ragazzina amante della natura, della scienza e di tutto ciò che c’è nel mondo vivente differente da quello umano. Tutto ciò che la circonda, è una domanda per lei. Come sono fatti i bruchi? Come si misura la temperatura? Come si legge un manuale?
Insieme al nonno, ex-militare e appassionato di studi naturalistici si ritroverà a immedesimarsi in mille avventure, come se avesse viaggiato per mille mondi, avesse scoperto mille piante o mille animali.
Un libro stilato con maestria e eleganza. Lo scrittore ha saputo modellare elementi complicati e racchiuderli in queste pagine che possono essere lette anche da ragazzini. Ha spiegato in maniera semplice e precisa concetti davvero complicati e fuori dalla portata di qualsiasi essere non appassionato di scienza o natura.
Oltre alle regole e alla passione di Calpurnia c’è anche la sua vita, la sua storia e la sua ribellione a diventare non una moglie ma uno scienziato, anche contro il volere dei suoi genitori. Una bambina fin troppo intelligente e caparbia. Ogni personaggio è descritto con estrema cura, il carattere e le loro paure o avidità. Calpurnia però rimane sempre la mia preferita a differenza della cugina che ho trovato odiosa. Il fratello Travis è di buon cuore e mi ha fatto tanta pena.
Si legge con facilità e sotto un cielo stellato, per seguire la stella polare e capire finalmente la strada da seguire. Un romanzo che racchiude tutta la bellezza della conoscenza. Buona Lettura!

I loved The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, and was very excited to hear there was a sequel. I devoured this book in just a couple of days and enjoyed every minute of it. While it didn't hold up quite as well as Evolution, it was still a really great story. I just love Calpurnia as a character. She is so smart and spunky. I wish that the rest of her family could see that!
I loved to see more of the brother and sister dynamic with Calpurnia and Travis, and I loved seeing Calpurnia come into her own as she found her calling in life as a veterinarian. I was fairly disgusted with the way her family treated her as if she was less than everyone else because she's a girl. I wish there had been more growth from her parents at least. Even though I was proud of Calpurnia for standing up for herself and declaring her desire to go to college and become a scientist, it still felt like they were dismissing it as if it were just a passing fad that she'll eventually outgrow.
As a homeschooling mother, I found myself crafting an entire unit study around this book - it was so full of fascinating scientific information about a wide array of topics, from dissection to astronomy to weather. Overall, I really liked it and can't wait to pass it on to my oldest to read.

Why I started this book: I love the narration of the first, the gentle pace and story and above all Calpurnia's curiousity and love of learning.
Why I finished it: Same great ingredients from the first book! I recommend this to fans of historical fiction, clean stories and anyone who loved the The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy.

I really enjoyed the first in this series, The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. It was a fabulous book loaded with science and feminist (definitely not man- hating) messages.
But the sequel wasn't the same. It still had science, but the feminist aspect of the plot ( which was more pronounced) was just left dangling. Plus, Kelly clearly had teachers telling her how much they loved to use her book in their classes, so this time she included diagrams, and, coincidentally, the experiments only used materials everyone has around the house. This just disrupted the flow of the book. It made it feel like the author was striving to please teachers and parents rather than to please kids.
A good book overall, but the first book was definitely better.

Reencontrarme con Calpurnia ha sido toda una delicia. En esta ocasión conocemos mas a su familia, como la relación con su abuelo esta mas que afianzada y como debe hacerse un hueco en su propia casa; ya que por se una chica no la tienen muy en cuenta (excepto su abuelo), pero nos seguirá demostrando que a pesar de su juventud y ser una chica, Callie es una persona fuerte y muy capaz.
Una novela que no puedo mas que recomendarla. Tengo la sensación que no sera la última vez que seamos testigos de las vivencias de Calpurnia, y si es así, yo con mucho gusto estaré encantada de recibirla con los brazos abiertos.

Este libro, al igual que su primera parte, me ha encantado. Me sigue encantando el personaje de Calpurnia, tan fuerte y luchadora siendo tan solo una niña.
La verdad no sé que tienen estos libros, ya que realmente no tienen una trama de planteamiento-nudo-desenlace. Simplemente cuenta cómo va creciendo Calpurnia, y cómo es el mundo que la rodea.
Es un libro, diría yo para ser claro, bonito.
4 estrellas, y espero que saquen una tercera parte.

Me ha gustado igual que la primera parte. Es una historia deliciosa y muy agradable de leer.
En esta parte quién me ha robado el corazón ha sido Travis, con su manía de recoger mascotas extrañas, que si un armadillo, un mapache, etc... :D eso sí muy emotiva la historia de "Costras"

Me he vuelto a encontrar con esta maravillosa niña, Calpurnia, que entre sus grandes aventuras, nos enseña el mundo visto desde su muy particular punto de vista, sobre todo científico.
Calpurnia es una niña, como ella misma se denomina, naturalista, amante de la ciencia y que gracias a su abuelo ha aprendido a clasificar, plantas y animales, una niña que es la única mujer entre 6 varones en casa y ella lo único que quiere es que la dejen estudiar e ir a la Universidad, por supuesto, el único que la toma en serio es su abuelo.
Es triste ver como una niña puede toparse con una cruda realidad en una sociedad donde una mujer no puede opinar, ser inteligente y ni siquiera tiene el derecho de recibir la misma cantidad de dinero que un hombre. Calpurnia ya con 13 años se ha dado cuenta que tendrá que luchar mucho para poder lograr sus objetivos y para ello ha decidido trabajar, cobrar por ello y ahorrar todo su dinero.
Mas allá de la parte feminista del libro, que es manejado de una manera muy pero que muy inteligentemente, todo visto desde el punto de vista de una niña de tan solo 13 años, también vivimos en esta ocasión con Calpurnia todas las aventuras con su hermano menor Travis, un verdadero amante de los animales, mientras mas feo y mas raro mas apego siente Travis por ellos y Calpurnia se convierte en su pequeña aliada.

Calpurnia sigue siendo esa niña que conserva unas inquietudes poco habituales en el género femenino de la época, no desiste en sus ansias de conocimiento y en este libro cuenta con la entrañable ayuda de su hermano menor, Travis, y con la aparición de un veterinario gracias al cual podrá descubrir y desarrollar una vocación nueva.
Con la extraña afición de Travis por adoptar como mascotas los animales menos apropiados para vivir en una granja, y con Calpurnia que de manera muy inteligente consigue hacerse imprescindible para el veterinario y empezar a cobrar por su trabajo, vemos el desarrollo de esta niña inquieta y amante de la naturaleza que va tomando el camino para volverse independiente por muchas trabas que encuentre en su propia familia.
Un segundo libro que sigue el estilo del anterior y que se disfruta con la misma ternura.
Me da pena que no haya más libros de Calpurnia porque estoy segura de que su vida como mujer adulta nos dejaría una novela llena de grandes momentos.
Con la extraña afición de Travis por adoptar como mascotas los animales menos apropiados para vivir en una granja, y con Calpurnia que de manera muy inteligente consigue hacerse imprescindible para el veterinario y empezar a cobrar por su trabajo, vemos el desarrollo de esta niña inquieta y amante de la naturaleza que va tomando el camino para volverse independiente por muchas trabas que encuentre en su propia familia.
Un segundo libro que sigue el estilo del anterior y que se disfruta con la misma ternura.
Me da pena que no haya más libros de Calpurnia porque estoy segura de que su vida como mujer adulta nos dejaría una novela llena de grandes momentos.
