Would’ve been 4 stars if not for the forced conflict towards the end, as well as a few things I felt needed more clarifying/exploration—the most important of which is a good reason why they’ve never come together until now.
I do like the author’s writing though, minus the prolonged my-dad-gave-me-abandonment-issues that goes on too long. I like the lovely mood she creates on the Christmas tree farm in particular.
