Both hands-on experience and theory are obviously important in the way franchisees engage and learn the business. The most important thing however, is to remain flexible. Two people do not learn the same way and the ability to move to a more hands-on approach for a kinaesthetic learner will pay dividends in their results. The core principles of the business too should always be shared and discussed during the recruitment process. New franchisees should feel a connection with the franchise brand before considering joining. Again, it's super-important here to remain flexible. There is no point in a Franchisee having to digest a 200 page document if they really aren't taking the information in. During the recruitment process, take the time to understand the individual franchisees requirements and preferences. Do they like to be hands on? Do they like direct feedback or prefer gentle guidance? The more you can learn about the preferred learning style, the better your relationship and the better results from training. As always, whichever blend of training is used, it's important to follow up consistently and not just once!
