Google’s deal with The #AP to bring news to #Gemini is an interesting move. On the surface, it seems like a good deal: The AP gets a new revenue stream, and Google secures a reliable source of real-time news. But this feels like just the start of a bigger shift. AI is already reshaping how we find and consume content, and there’s a real risk that publishers could lose control of their content—or even lose their audiences to AI-driven platforms entirely. As this trend continues, it seems likely that social platforms will eventually feed directly into AI as well. Once that happens, where it leads and what it evolves into will be anyone’s guess.
