One quintillion cryptographic hashes. An exahash generally refers to mining Bitcoin and means that every second a collection of mining rigs is making one quintillion hash computations. Individual rigs are rated in terahashes (trillion hashes per second). As of 2025, the worldwide Bitcoin mining hash rate is more than 600 exahashes per second (600 quintillion hashes per second). See hash rate, ASIC miner, space/time and cryptographic hash function. For AI computations, see exaFLOPS.
