Red Phone Booth, London England
The iconic red phone booth really stands out when travelling around London, England. And this print will stand out with it's bright, vivid colors. This is a print of the iconic red telephone booth found in and around London, England. This print was created from my original photograph. I digitally altered the original photo to look like a painting. Looking for a gift that reminds you of London? This print of the iconic London telephone booth can be yours now! The popular London phone booth (or as some call it the telephone box or telephone kiosk) was the result of a competition in 1924. The winning design was submitted by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. A few changes were made to Scott's original design. It was decided to make the phone booths out of cast iron (Scott had suggested steel) and to paint it red (Scott had suggested silver with a "green-blue" interior) . The color red was chosen to make them easier to spot. From 1926 onwards, the tops of the phone booths were emblazoned with a prominent crown, representing the British government.
