——— More Broadway logos Designs: https://n9.cl/musicallogo. ——— The theatre musical play Les Misérables (also called Les Mis or Les Miz) is an adaptation of the classic 1862 novel, written by Frenchman Victor Hugo and also from the 1980 French musical play directed by Robert Hossein and composed by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with lyrics by Jean-Marc Natel. Its adaptation in English was made by Cameron Mackintosh and lyrics of the songs in English were written by Herbert Kretzmer.
Les Misérables is a musical theater play, set in France at the beginning of the 19th century. It tells the story of the peasant Jean Valjean, imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his sister and nephew, and who is released in 1815, after nineteen years in prison. Seeking redemption and a new life, Valjean breaks his parole. But Javert, a police inspector, takes the initiative to persecute him throughout the story, to prevent him from escaping justice.
For several years, Valjean meets other characters such as Fantine, a Parisian grisette who is abandoned by her lover, who ends up getting sick and to whom Valjean promises on his deathbed to take care of her daughter Cosette as his own, or Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, innkeepers who they mistreat Cosette, extort money from Fantine, and rip off and rob everyone they can.
The second part of the story focuses on the French revolution, specifically the riots of 1830 and 1832 in Paris, in which a group of young and idealistic students organize barricades in June 32. The Friends of ABC, also called Barricade Boys, they are Enjolras, Courfeyrac, Combeferre, Joly, Feuilly (or Feully) Jean Prouvaire (also called Jehan), Bahorel, Lesgle (Bossuet or Lègle), Grantaire, Gavroche, and Éponine (the Jondrette girl).
In this framework, the love story between one of those revolutionary boys, Marius Pontmercy, and Valjean's daughter, Cosette (also called Euphrasie, the lark, Alouette, Mademoiselle Lanoire or Ursula), also takes place.
