I. Introduction
After this section, readers should answer 3 questions: What are the problems? What are the
solutions? And which part of the solutions will be described in this document?
Objectives
Describe the overall goal in developing the product. In other words, it is a high-level description
of what the product will do.
Background
Describe the brief rationale of developing the product including current business issues /
problems and expected changes after implementing the product.
Scope
Describe what is in and out of scope regarding the budget, resources and timeline. It should be a
list of functionalities.
II. Business Process Overview
After this section, readers should be one step further into understanding the problems and solutions
in section 1.
Readers can review the processes that are currently followed by the business units and compare those
to those after modified.
After this section, readers should have clear directions on how the solution will be developed. The
directions will be divided into 3 segments: Database, Interfaces and Functional Requirements.
Step 1: Enlist different user classes / actors who might interact with the product
Step 2: Detail each user class / actor typical interactions

Database Requirements
Illustrate database schema and explain how to interpret tables and attributes
Functional Requirements
Develop a set of scenarios on how the interaction would happened for each use case with
sequence diagram
