Part 1: Virtualize External Volume
• Attach G200 Volume to E590H:
Establish connectivity between the existing G200 storage and the new E590H
system.
• Discover Attached Volumes:
Ensure the E590H system recognizes the G200 volumes, which is critical for
subsequent steps.
• Virtualize the G200 Volume:
This allows the E590H to manage the G200 volume seamlessly, preparing for
the migration.
• Attach the Virtualized Volume:
Ensure that the virtualized volume is ready for the next steps.

Part 2: Cutover
• Access the Server:
Confirm that the virtualized volumes are mounted and visible.
• Stop App/DB:
Halt all transactions by stopping the application or database to ensure data
consistency.
• Shutdown Hosts (Optional):
Recommended to fully prevent any transactions during the I/O redirection process.
• Deactivate Zones:
Redirects I/O traffic to the E590H, ensuring that applications connect to the correct
storage.
• Boot Servers and Verify:
 Ensure everything functions correctly post-migration, confirming that the
disks/storage access the G200's virtual volume through the E590H.

Part 3: Migration (Migrate at Your Convenience)
• Use Ops Center Administrator:
 Simplifies the migration process with an intuitive interface for managing
volumes.
• Navigate and Migrate:
Control which volumes are migrated and how they are configured.

Part 4: Clean Up
• Delete Migration Task:
Maintain a clean environment by removing unnecessary tasks.
• Unvirtualized and Detach Volumes:
Finalize the migration process, ensuring the old storage does not retain any
unnecessary data or connections.
