I bought sneakers from Wojas recently. Polish brand and as I understand it they are produced in Poland.
Dan should not reject a medium girlfriend who like to bake cookies, then he will have an endless supply of warm cookies.

Interesting, didn’t know about Servo. Is it used by any browser or other program?

Proton is bigger than Mullvad in number of users, servers, employees, revenue. Mullvad is a great VPN but they are a smaller company.
I’m not defending them, just trying to find a reason, except for level of commission paid, for why they would list them in this order.

Interesting article, it seems they have switched: Microsoft Office -> open-source equivalent (they didn’t mention any which alternative in the article) Teams -> OpenTalk Microsoft Exchange and Outlook -> Open-Xchange and Thunderbird
And this year they will move to Linux, I’m surprised that they are not using more programs/tools or maybe they already work in Linux. I assumed libraries had one program for their books in the library and another program for ordering books, the police had several programs etc.
But when I think about it, what is a state in Germany responsible for? And this switch, is it only on state level or will the municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein also switch to open source?

Proton is bigger than Mullvad, so more people have heard about them and might see them as a good alternative. For the VPN providers it doesn’t really matter since it was only 4 alternatives, but they might add more alternatives in the future.

That makes a lot more sense. When I was reading PCD I was thinking about a private device, even if they don’t have much space and even less time I was thinking that they might bring a few small private things. Like a photo of their family, maybe a book etc.

Why is NASA remotely connecting to the tablet if it is a personal device?

Solar and wind power are dependent on the weather to generate power, where nuclear power is not. I agree that there are many ideas on how to store the energy from solar and wind power, but how many of them is used on such large scale that it makes a difference on the grid?
Out of topic but do you have any data that shows that the baseload is obsolete? I have a hard time to believe that based on the definition from https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/baseload
Baseload refers to the minimum level of demand on an electrical supply system over a 24-hour period, with baseload power sources being those plants that generate dependable power to consistently meet this demand.

Nuclear is part of the solution. We shouldn’t rely on a single source of energy.

This is the correct answer. Nuclear is not a perfect energy source, but it fills one big gap that we currently have with the renewable energy sources.
I would also say that gas can be an ok alternative in some situations. For example as replacement of a coal power plant if it is built together with solar and/or wind power. The gas power plant can increase the power when the renewables does not produce energy and be turned off during sunny or windy days.

The latest community phone will be manufactured in Finland.
My manager suggested that the team would sing for me last year in a group meeting. I asked why and she said they should sing because it’s my birthday. I had to look on the calendar because she sounded so convinced but it was several weeks until my birthday. Since that she has never suggested happy birthday singing again and I really hope it remains like that.

In most companies in Sweden it is fine to speak English. In a company that develops an app I would even assume that everything is in English except for the legal stuff.

The salary is a bit low for the engineering jobs, the recommended salary without any experience at all is almost 4000 €/month. While the recommended salary is higher than most people get, it should be possible to get around 3500 €/month. But the remote-first and flexible hours are perks that compensates for some of the lower salary.

I need to rewatch it again, I haven’t seen it in many years.

With ai and more and more surveillance it is even more relevant than when it was aired.

Google will not spy on you and most of the code is open source. I’m not sure if it has been audited.
Do you only update once per week? Doesn’t sound very Arch.
