Just got this classic in the post from Puffin. I did the cover (obviously) Happy with the result, although they’ve saturated the reds A LOT which gave me a shock at first…But they know what they’re doin. I’m used to it now and it’s probably better.
Did this botanical drawing for today’s NY Times Review. About doctors over- prescribing opiates. Never used this technique for a quick turnaround editorial before. Risky, but it worked out. Phew.
Another day of hairpulling at Spike Print Studio. Doing everything the hard way and goin through a whole catalogue of errors. Final separation ready now. Wish me luck!
Just came across this image deep in the belly of my computer. A failed experiment from 3,5 years ago…Now I quite like it however. Drawn with charcoal. A real mess I seem to remember.

Just done these here screen prints! First of many I hope, as I have joined Spike Print again after a long hiatus. Drawn on mark resist, so no computery textures, in an effort to make my work a bit less tight. Will reopen my shop when I have some more new stuff. Cheers!
Went to a trial run of The Ivy Market Grill in Covent Garden last night. Had a really juicy steak and finally got to see the fruits of my wood cut experiments from back in July. It’s a stunning place (grand 1920’s feel) and I’m proud to be part of it, although no one would ever guess that I did this! Where are all the characters?
Another page done…I think. On to the next. Picture books are hard work. Bit different this. A bit serious. I suspect I’m overworking it. Judging by the amount of layers I am. Oh well….no time to change direction now! My next book will be bolder, I promise!!
