Another Move And Finally Settled

I have decided that I will not move again, it is too much work.  We finally returned to the Northeast where we purchased a home in Vermont, exactly where I have always wanted to be.  We had one month to get the interior painted before all of our belongings arrived on a truck from Texas.  The past three months were spent unpacking hundreds of boxes, a task that I have done a number of times before and one that I refuse to do again.  As the cold weather approached we rushed to get the exterior of the house painted and despite a number of obstacles our mission was accomplished.  I do love the new color of the house that we now call home:

I never get tired of looking out at this view...

This past weekend these mountains were snow-capped. Yes, it is hard to believe but the first snowfall of the season arrived prior to Halloween.

I longed for the day when I could wake up in a house free of workers, enter my new sewing room, sit at my Koala sewing center and quilt. In January this new table was delivered to my house in Texas but I left Texas (and my table) in mid April.

Koala Sewing Center - in Texas

Well, the workers are gone, my sewing room is somewhat in order, and when I sat at the sewing center I discovered it had been damaged during the move. YIKES! The electronic sewing machine lift is non operational, there are scratches and a few dings. I am stressing over how the insurance company will resolve this. The sewing center was in my Texas house for only 16 weeks before we left for Vermont.  It remained untouched until the movers arrived in August to pack/move our belongings.  By October I managed to find my way to the sewing room and unpack all of the boxes (yes, I avoided this room...way too many boxes). I was shocked when I used the remote to activate the lift and heard the horrendous noise while watching the lift struggle to move!  I just want the insurance people to take it away and get me a brand new one.  I did not purchase a "reconditioned" one thus I do not want them to attempt to fix it...we will see what happens.
.
Moving was certainly one reason why I have been quiet in blog land but another reason is because my 5 year old Dell computer has become problematic.  What should take 15 minutes to do now takes hours; so very frustrating.  I started using my iPhone for EVERYTHING except blogging.  A week ago I purchased a MacBook Pro which I know nothing about, as a result I had to wait until my sons came for a visit to get me up and running.  I am still in the dark so today I purchased the book, "MacBook For Dummies" and if that doesn't enlighten me I will enroll in a class.

I wish that I had more stitching to share with you but the move kept me far from my stitching basket. I managed to complete "Angel of Hope".  I changed the hair color because I wanted the Angel to look more like the person I am giving it to

My stitching basket is calling so I must end now.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by~

HOE Lizzie Kate Ornament Exchange

I heard that Ellen received the HOE Lizzie Kate ornament exchange that I stitched for her.  Although the mail date is NLT August 15th, I had to get this one stitched early because I was in the middle of purchasing a home in Vermont and life was very hectic.  Here is the ornament that I selected:

Designer: Lizzie * Kate
Stitched for: Ellen

The "Tiny Tidings XII" Pattern consists of such a cute collection of holiday designs.  It was a difficult choice but I selected the Fa La La design to stitch for Ellen.

I will leave you with a picture of the beautiful view that I will enjoy from our new home in Vermont...

So, why do I love Vermont???  :D I can't wait until the leaves change this fall !!!

Until next time...

Winter Exchanges

I am excited to be able to show you the wonderful exchange that I received in the mail today; it is from Goldie who had my name for the SBEBB Frosty & Friends Exchange. What an adorable snowman pinkeep! The design is a Lizzie Kate titled, Share the Season. Goldie also sent a bunch of extras, just look at how she spoiled me…

SBEBB: Frosty & Friends Exchange
Received from: Goldie

Thank you Goldie, I am so grateful for all that you sent and shall cherish the beautiful pinkeep.

I am able to share a few exchange pictures of items that I sent out. The first is a Winter Exchange that I participated in with the Friends Through Threads group. My partner for this exchange is a very talented stitcher named Brigitte. I selected a Mary Garry design titled, Ice-Skating Party and think it is just perfect for a Winter Exchange. I decided to finish it as a sewing caddy and am pleased with how it turned out.

I spent Friday traveling to Vermont for a ski weekend so I am sorry to say I was not able to stitch on my HAED Wintery Heirloom. I do plan to join the HEAD Friday SAL this week and hope that I can make some headway.

Okemo Mountain ~ Vermont

I had a great weekend skiing with my older son and his girlfriend. We had one slight mishap on the chair lift and all I can say is I am thankful that I did not break my leg! I have a huge bruise on my calf to remind me of how lucky I was. Overall, it was a great day, not as cold as I had thought it would be except at the very top of the mountain with the wind whipping violently around!

Snowboarding at Okemo

To make up for all the carbs I ate, in preparation for the long ski day (ya right), I "paid the piper" by spending 3 hours at the gym today working out 1 hour each on the Arc Trainer, Treadmill, and Elliptical. I do believe that I need to end this so I can creep slowly down the stairs and rest my weary body on the couch…time to stitch!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Playing "Catch Up" - F&S from Hannah - VoHRH

I just returned from Vermont where I spent 12 days house hunting and stitching, more stitching than house hunting...that is always nice. I had the opportunity to play “catch up” especially on my VoHRH. Having missed the January 1st deadline for block #3 I was finally able to complete it on Jan. 20th. I wanted to try to complete a second block before February 1st so I started on block #5 and will finish that tonight. After stitching and re-stitching this brick house I could not bring myself to start on the house in block 4! Not sure what the problem was but I struggled with all of those bricks!

Hannah, my Fair & Square partner for round #4, sent this wonderful exchange a few weeks ago. I was in Vermont thus unable to post pictures. I just love this block, I have all four charts of this Bent Creek Wonderland and have wanted to stitch them. I was treated to two fantastic Workbasket leaflets; I love all of their designs and happen to be stitching one for an exchange right now. Hannah used the instructional link that I posted for the “tissue holder” and did a great job making one for me. She also included some adorable snowman buttons and some piecemakers needles. Thanks Hannah, you made this such a special exchange!

I was also able to complete my "Hello Neighbor" Round Robin and will be sending it off tomorrow. I am anxious to see this neighborhood grow, and thankful that I was able to join this group!

I will leave you with a few picture of winter/summer in Vermont…

Many thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to stop by and visit. It is always so nice to read your comments!

What's the Buzz Exchange Received

I am so excited...I received a wonderful exchange from Barbara that smelled delightful. She stitched me this darling Scissor FOB, and included the stork scissors as well. The FOB is filled with Lavender and a good-luck coin!

I was treated to a number of great gifts: Quaker Bee Sampler pattern by Chessie & Me, very pretty ribbon, beautiful note cards, a neat bookmark, and some lavender soap! (oops, just realized the soap is not in the picture...it is keeping my sewing room smelling sweet!) :-}

Barbara, I can not thank you enough for this wonderful exchange!!!

Home From Vermont
My summer stay in Vermont has come to an end. I am home now (making it far easier to blog and post pictures) and will return to Vermont on most weekends. It is such a beautiful state! I look forward to the fall when colors burst all around you!

Here are just a few pictures:
Lake Bomoseen

As you exit our road this is the lake that you see. Both my boys enjoy jet skiing, fishing, and boating on the pontoon boat. I remain at home, usually stitching and enjoying this view:

View from the deck: Sugar Shack and Pond

Our property sits on 40+ acres, most of it wooded. In the distance you see the sugar shack, for making maple syrup. No, I do not make ~ it I purchase it. If you ever want Vermont's best maple syrup (really)...try Green's in Poultney, VT.

Thanks for all of your very kind comments. It is always great to hear from you!

Until next time...
